Blatant safety deficiencies: Missing smoke detectors, broken tiles, no fire curtains, broken faucet and shower rod... Ejected after the first night without reason... No breach of the occupancy agreement

On the positive side: the hotel is close to the railway station. On the negative side: It was advertised as serving breakfast but no breakfast was available. I was told that there were a number of bäkerei offering breakfast nearby. They were, in fact, some distance away. The lavatory and shower room did not have doors.

Stayed 4 nights for the Euro's, extremely friendly welcome and easy check in. Hotel Skada is directly opposite Koln Messe/Deutz railway station, in a great location for Koln Triangle observation deck and Lanxess Arena, Rheinpark is within walking distance and only 1k away from Kolner Dom. The hotel itself was clean, has decent sized room's and good working bathroom facilities. The only downside was not much storage space in the room's but other than that, a great price and would recommend for a budget stay.

Came and stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with friends which has very friendly receptionist and is a great location just across the road from a train station and around the corner from the koln triangle, at has a bar and an eating area but i never used these, you could purchase additional breakfast and gas a nice busy Mexican restaurant one or two doors away. It Is also a great location with just a short walk away being the main bridge which leads to the main cologne cathedral, great location and a pleasant stay which would reccomend

Great location and a bit like taking a step back in time in a slightly weird and spooky experience! Automated check in is efficient just impersonal. Only ever met the doggy behind reception which was cute. All the rooms are unique and some are quite "special". This said, all clean and all working. Never met anyone from the hotel and with the funky decor gave a bit of a spooky but fun feel! Beer and Mexican food available next door and across Rd from train station.

Very good small hotel. Clean room, very nice staff! Only the bathroom are with old sanitarium and without any accessories / even no soap/ at least there are towels. But is at perfect location! I would visit it again.

Well... it's good for a night or two. It was OK for the price I payed. It's clean but not up to date. The mattress is unbelievably soft. They give you a voucher for a free beer for the pub downstairs. I can't complain about anything. If you're looking for a place to sleep while touring the city - this is good. If you're looking for a nice vacation hotel to kick back and relax or want a modern room with AC, fridge and a big TV - this is not it.

An inexpensive Hotel needed for a night with good location in Cologne.

Location:
in sight of the station Deutz – just perfect! Also a couple of restaurants are in the immediate vicinity. You will find the Skada very quickly and in a few minutes on the 'right' side of the Rhine.

Room & Cleanliness:
I had a quiet room to the backyard. It was really clean, the furnishing is however getting on in years. However, everything you needed cared for and had. Actually, very "charming".

What I didn't like it all that (as in all Hotels of this earth) are the shower curtains. And the rooms are actually a little noisy.

Conclusion:
Charming, small and friendly Hotel in a Top location at a fair price. If you can see the setup and a few minor blemishes, it is recommended. To the gastronomy I can't say anything, I used the Hotel for Overnight.

I paid I for a night by the way 39,00€ (about HRS, without the 5% Cologne's "tourist tax" and without Breakfast).

Rating 2016: Absolutely defective! The only positive is the nice staff and the good solution with the doorway or Entering the hotel, when no staff is there.

Negative: the dead plants in the corridors and the grumpy air have us prepared for everything: broken window latches, bed sheets with holes, strange hair on the blankets, stains on the floor, dusty glass shelves. A light switch on the wall, but no lamp on the ceiling, instead, you had to lamps, 3 wall and turn on a floor lamp and even then the light was sufficient. The Mini flat screen TV has a picture quality of an old tube TV reception during a storm.

The bathroom is very very old and dirty. Broken tiles and lime deposits everywhere.

For 51€, you should not complain, but there are nearby Hotels that are in the price is the same, but the performance is significantly better.

The small courtyard is a pure bulky waste collection.
