Lovely hotel. Clean and spacious rooms with decent bed (not the most comfy lounges for those with kids needing to sleep there but ok). The staff are lovely and hospitable, the restaurant staff in particular are friendly and welcoming. Great pool and beach too. Lots of parking so easy with a rental.

The golden bay hotel in Malia is the perfect place for summer holiday. The area is very calm even though you are just minutes of walking away from the center of Malia and the views from the balcony and the pool are stunning, overlooking the hills of Crete. The walk to the beach is also something to be happy about, because is just few minutes away and the beach is clean with beautiful sea. The rooms were perfectly satisfactory, everything worked, the bed was comfortable and there were utensils and silverware you need. I would especially recommend paying few euro for the air conditioning, it worked perfectly and during the hot summer months it was a life saver. Another thing that was great was the breakfast, good selection of sweet and salty foods, but the drinks could be better, the juices were too sweet for me and there was no water, but other than that the breakfast was great. The staff is very friendly and willing to help if needed. In summary there was nothing wrong with our stay. I would highly recommend visiting if you’re planning a trip to Malia.

Just don’t stay here, just I’m amazed about how bad this stay was, I stayed here for 9 days and the hotell promised WiFi which is not even working, tried connecting to it so many times but never worked, the beds like wow it’s so hard you could just sleep on the floor no difference, you are promised room cleaning every day except sundays and for my 9 days stay we had room cleaning for 1 day it’s just mad, the shower had a big stain in it which was very nasty. the doors you can barley lock it the pool closed legit 7pm, the breakfast is the worst I’ve ever seen, 2 different types of juice legit tasted like water and ALOT of sugar and just bread and som dry ham, and the sun beds get so hot from the sun you will just burn your self if you try to lay on them, you have to pay 6 euro every day for air conditioning and an ekstra 20 euro for the safe like it’s just mad, we ended up paying an extra 200 euro for our 9 day stay, when we wanted to check out we had to wait outside his office for 15 minutes, he said 5 minutes like he works when he wants to. pls pay some ekstra money to avoid this place i promise you it’s worth it, don’t do the same mistake as I did.

First time staying at Golden Bay, but me and my partner could not be happier. Great location very close to beaches and Malia strip, but also in a quiet area, so you can properly rest! Lovely room with sea view, which was big and had all we needed! House keeping was literally everyday! The host, Akis was really helpful and friendly! We would love to come back!

Several of us attending a conference nearby at the Cretaquarium stayed here for several nights. What struck me first was the view. It was pretty cool to step outside of my room, either through my front door, or from the corner of my deck, and see the Mediterranean Sea. The deck also faced inward toward the rest of the layout, so I really got a good look at all of the hotel. As others have noted, the staff here is very friendly and works hard to provide a nice experience. Rania found us a couple of rental cars. The rental company actually brought the cars to the hotel. The first night there we sat outside in the restaurant and shared several plates of food and a few drinks and have a great evening. We caught a great sunset, too. It can be a bit difficult to find at first, but the adventure is worth it. Take a walk down the street to check out the other restaurants and shops and enjoy the proximity to the ocean. I'd stay here again if I were to ever get back to Crete.

The Golden Bee Lifestyle Hotel is a very pleasant, intimate hotel where you can relax by the pool overlooking the sea, the beach is right next to it after walking a few meters along the promenade. The biggest plus is the friendly service, you can feel real Greek kindness here, we recommend a room with direct access to your own swimming pool, the room is very nice, boho style, air-conditioned, it only lacks a wardrobe to hide your belongings. The room was thoroughly cleaned every day. When it comes to food, we usually only managed to take advantage of breakfasts, which were always the same, you could find something for yourself but they definitely lacked a bit to describe excellent, as for the drinks offer in the all inclusive option, there are cold and hot drinks available and from alcohols beer, wine and ouzo the rest is payable extra. Personally, I recommend this Hotel, where you could truly relax because it is located in a quieter part of the city. I greet all the staff for your kindness that made our stay more pleasant

Beautiful hotel Didn't realize it was a 4* as we got a good deal.my word we were so surprised by the attentiveness of the staff in each area.The cleaners were second to none and worked long hours and came in everyday. Bar staff were so happy and really went out of their way to make your stay a lovely one. Also Penelope and Maria in the tarverna were beautiful girls and nothing was too much trouble for them. Such a friendly hotel and one of the best we've stayed in in 18yrs quiet friendly and relaxing. I hope the owner of this hotel knows how super his staff and hotel are and we will definitely be coming back. Overall not one complaint everything was A* from start to finish Thank you Golden Bay xxxxx

This has been upgraded to a really good family hotel apartments place with charming and friendly staff who really go out of their way to be pleasant and give good service. There is constant and late hours bar service with kitchen service food on demand. The only downside - unless you want a quieter holiday - is the position in Gouves. There is a small but popular pool and they put on entertainment sometimes. The tourist spots are a ride away and the nearest decent beach a short walk. There are mini marts close enough but if you want the high life, you need to hire transport or use the buses.

Had a wonderful week at the Golden Bay hotel. Would recommend if you want a quiet week chilling. Lovely rooms most with pool view. Excellent staff that look after you well. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Lovely pool (new sunbeds where delivered on our first day). Hotel is on the seafront with great views of the bay. We went Half board. Breakfast was really nice. Lots of choice. The evening meal was waiter service and was freshly prepared and you had a good choice. Overall thoroughly good stay and would go back.
