Pollis Hotel in Hersonissos

I arrived at the hotel after a 20 hour travel to find there was no hot water for shower. Over the next week, there was no hot water about half the time. This is totally unacceptable for a 4 star hotel. The food and staff are good. The internet drops off often. Shower head was cracked and water would just pour in.

Me and my family bought an All inclusive package and booked a triple room. After we checked in and arrived to our room, our biggest surprise was that instead of 3 beds we received 2 beds and a small mattress (see picture below). We went back to the reception and asked the receptionist (a young guy) if this is their standard triple room since we saw something else on their website. The guy said this is their triple standard room and did nothing else about it. Few minutes later, we saw the room next to us because the people in it left the door open, room 2006, a triple room, and guess what? They had 3 normal beds, not a mattress like ours. Clearly the receptionist lied to us, which is not very nice if you ask me. Moreover, there was no shower gel in the bathroom (and from my experience, hotels usually give you little bottles of shower gel among others). The bed linens were white but had some brown spots on them, so they didn’t look very clean. They said they only clean the room every 3 days and I heard another guest saying that their room was cleaned every day (they also had the same package as ours). As an accommodation, I wouldn’t come back to this hotel. The only good part of staying here was their food, the kitchen staff were nice people, and I liked their pool area, but that’s it.

The hotel itself is clean and tidy, but the food variety is poor. There’s very little fruit available, and there are no snacks or fruit offered between 2 pm and 7 pm, even though we had an all-inclusive package. You even have to pay extra for juice.

Stayed one week, beginning of May 2024 . Pros : - hotel is new,, cosy and clean ; has three separate buildings plus another one under construction ; we stayed in main building ( with the reception ). - staff was very attentive, kind and nice - a big thanks to all of them ! - breakfast and dinner were ok : tasty food and decent variety of menus - open buffet _ ventilation in bathroom - very fast and effective - beds and mattresses very comfortable - there was a small outdoor relaxing area with a pool and sunbeds Cons : - location is not along the beach , but close to cliff promenade , tavernas and shops - room furniture is new , but very minimalist - not enough shelves to put your belongings - no cosmetic amenities in the bathroom ( which you shoud expect in a 4 stars hotel ) - no towel ports in the bathroom , to let the wet towels dry properly . Even you let the towels outside on the balcony over night , they could not dry due to air humidity and temperature - for unknown reasons , they did not offer classic toilet paper. Instead , there was only a dispenser for paper napkins , to be used both for face and as toilet paper ! - the most annoying drawback was the bad lighting in the bathroom . You barely could see clearly your face in the mirror when shaving or putting makeup , respectively I tried to be as objective as I could in this review , but I shall not make any special recommendation . It is everybody's choice to select this hotel or not .
