Galazio Beach Resort in Hersonissos

What a wonderful find in a beautiful part of Crete. The hotel is located on the beach front with a private beach 50m in front of the hotel. Rooms are lovey, very clean and well designed with large balconies, rainflow showers, large flatscreen TV, good WiFi and a kitchenette with hob and microwave and a large fridge.
Also a lovely designed pool with swim up rooms and plenty of very comfy sunbeds. Breakfast is fabulous with lots of choice of fresh fruit, yoghurt pastries and hot choices. We also brought our elderly parents along and I’d like to call out Marina and Aryna for their wonderful service and going above and beyond, to look after us and also to serve breakfast to our parents in the downstairs restaurant as they struggled to get upstairs to the main breakfast restaurant. They are so happy and friendly they really make the hotel feel very special.
A couple of call outs to improve the hotel:
1. The pool really needs to be heated, the airtemp was 23 deg but the pool was too cold to swim in. Also the way it’s designed there’s no access for anyone with mobility issues. Looks amazing but in October it’s unusable.
2.The beach beds are an extra €10 per day for residents, the public can access them for €15, somehow feels wrong and I’m sure someone can explain it, I noticed it caught a few people out. And given the pool is too cold the sea is 23 deg and a better option in October.
Overall though, a great hotel, we loved it and the people gave great friendly service. I’d definitely recommend if you are visiting Crete next year.

We had the most relaxing time at this beautiful modern clean hotel ...every single member of staff made our holiday so special. The receptionist on our arrival personally showing us our room. The lovely cleaning ladies with their friendly kindness every single day. The restaurant staff were all friendly and food was outstanding. Breakfast was superb with eggs cooked as you desired.. even the residents were friendly so nice we didn't feel we wanted to go anywhere! We had exactly what we wanted a beautiful relaxed chilled happy time. THANK YOU ONE AND ALL!!

We had the most amazing stay for one week at this Galazio Beach resort.
The staff were amazing- so kind and generous and really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable.
The breakfast buffet is out of this world and the restaurant was also delicious.
The hotel is located just across the road from the beach which is great for swimming and relaxing. There’s also lots of water sports offered. Highly recommend this hotel for solo travelers, couples, families and anyone seeking a relaxing getaway.

We arrived at the hotel around midnight after a late flight and check-in was smooth and efficient with us being shown personally to the room and all its features. I had pre-emailed ahead requesting to be allocated room 61, which had been confirmed. However, upon arrival, we were given room 63 instead. The receptionist explained that a family had requested rooms 61 and 62 as they were interconnected, which made sense. In hindsight, I was actually glad about this change as rooms 63 and 64 get the most sun throughout the afternoon, while 61 and 62 are more overlooked, being close to the reception. Our room was interconnected with room 64, and the doors are not soundproof. During our stay, we were disturbed by noise from neighboring room, first by two young girls returning at 4am and later by the children of a new family who moved in which is a shame considering everything else was so perfect. The room itself was spotless, with a great shower and a very comfortable bed. Housekeeping did an excellent job keeping everything clean and tidy throughout the week. One thing to be aware of, though, is mosquitoes. We travelled in mid-October and were bitten quite a bit, even after buying repellent and using a plug-in near the bed. It didn’t make much difference, so it’s definitely worth coming prepared with stronger protection if you visit around this time of year. The breakfasts were lovely, with the team really looking after us each morning. Fresh omelettes were made to order, and the cappuccinos were perfect, some mornings even topped with a little love heart! We also dined in the hotel a few times and found the food to be of a high standard with good variety and friendly service. There are also some great restaurants close by too such as Tritonas Greek Traditional Taverna. We realised pretty quickly there is no such thing as a light lunch as the portion sizes are huge, so plan ahead and share if you can. There is also a supermarket attached to the hotel but dont worry if you cannot find everything you are looking for as there are a few others within a 5-10 minute walk too. The hotel’s beach is lovely and well maintained. You can pay €10 for the day, which gives you two sunbeds and you also receive a complimentary bottle of still water, complete with two glasses and an ice bucket, a nice touch that makes it feel great value for money. It can get quite windy on the beach, but inside the hotel grounds it feels much more sheltered, almost like a sun trap. We loved being able to start the day by the pool, using the sunbeds on one side, and then move onto our swim-up balcony in the afternoon to catch the best of the sun. If you’re wondering whether the swim-up rooms are worth the extra, they absolutely are. We took the Train Tour to Port Hersonissos, with a stop just outside the hotel. Amazing hotel and staff. Everyone we came across throughout our week there were so friendly and answered any questions we had. I'd emailed many times prior to arriving and my emails were answered within hours. Great communication from the hotel prior and during our stay. We were shown to our room late at night and given a tour of the room, shown how things work and what amenities were included. The guy was very informative especially late at night after a long day This was a really nice personal touch amd made us feel very welcome. We had a double room and found the room spacious and very comfortable for a weeks stay. The tv with Netflix, YouTube, Disney etc was an added bonus for those nights we wanted a chill night. The bed was the comfiest bed, two huge pillows each and a duvet in the wardrobe for the colder nights. Fantastic location , right on the beach and near restaurants and bars. I normally don't return to hotels as I like to stay in different places. We've already said we want to return here in the future as the service and hotel were fantastic.

I spent 10 nights as a solo traveller staying at the beautiful Galazio Beach Resort. It was everything I hoped it would be, and more. Super friendly and welcoming right from check in. Shown to my clean, well equipped, lovely, comfortable room. Woke up from a late arrival to a tasty breakfast and had the first glance at the beach 😍

It just couldn't have been more perfect for me. Ideal location, the comfiest sun loungers at the pool and the beach. Every single member of staff were impeccable, attentive and friendly! And the food is delicious 😋 I love a cocktail, I couldn't get enough of the Moscow Mules! The Greek night was brilliant entertainment too.

We stayed in a quad room with a small kitchen, sitting area, and separate bedroom. Very clean and comfortable.

Staff were accommodating and polite. They decorated our room for my birthday, which made it special.

The pool was calm and spotless. A supermarket next door sold fresh sandwiches and cold beers, perfect to enjoy by the pool.

The restaurant had friendly staff. Food quality was average but fine for a relaxed day.

The location is excellent. You can sun lounge on the beach during the day and enjoy the beach bar in the evening. Some nights feature traditional Greek entertainment, which adds to the experience.

Would be 5/5 if the restaurant food quality was better. Overall, a comfortable stay with excellent service and a great pool.

This hotel is stunning and the staff are fantastic , the rooms were modern and very clean with everything you needed. The breakfast was lovely with lots of choice and good coffee. The beach area was also nice with a much needed breeze. There are lots of lovely family run tavernas around the hotel which are very reasonable and fantastic quality . We are due to return in October but had already booked another hotel but we will be definitely returning to this one , thank you for your hospitality ❤️

Me and my partner stayed 16-22 June, we booked this hotel based in a Facebook advert and were a light apprehensive as there was only 60 reviews when we booked. On first arrival, wow! This hotel is stunning!! I couldn’t get over how it was identical to the photos. The pool area was modern, open and relaxing. I just got chill/relaxed vibes from the hotel and felt like this the entire time I was there. The staff were so friendly throughout our stay, everything was explained clearly regained the room,pool, breakfast and the welcome drink was a lovely added touch. We stayed in one of the swim up rooms, 64, we found we got sun from 2-7 which was the same for our neighbours (rooms on the main part of the pool) the 4 rooms towards the back of the hotel didn’t seem to get much sun on the decks. We were happy with this as we found we used the opportunity to avoid midday sun. The room itself, immaculate! The cleaning staff need so much praise as the rooms and grounds were spotless throughout our stay. Again the room was just like the photos and had plenty of space for our stay. The beds were very comfy, my partner slept 9 hours every night we were there which is a rarity for him. My only big pick is there was no full length mirror - that being said I don’t know where it would go and whether it would fit the aesthetic of the room. Also I find this is common in many hotels including 5star hotels not to have full length mirror, it would just be nice to have. Breakfast was plentiful, so many options of cereal, yogurt, meats, cheeses, bread, omelettes made to order, as well as teas and coffees. There isn’t many restaurants near the hotel, it’s quite a quiet village, but the hotel restaurant is amazing. The food was delicious and we ate here a lot of days. A taxi to herosnissos was €15 and we got this from the shop facing the church. Overall amazing stay, we were so gutted to leave and even more gutted when we couldn’t find a room availability next year as we both said we would definitely come back again.
