I would especially like to mention Rena from the bar on the first floor — she truly made our stay unforgettable!
Also, a big thank you to Elena, Anna, and Ioanna, who made sure every morning at breakfast was perfect and that we had everything we needed
I highly recommend that if you are coming to Crete that you look her up. Another amazing worker is Katerina. She was great to interact with. Her upbeat attitude was amazing. I really appreciate all of the staff at Kydon
View from upper floor of the old city is stunning. Located just 5min walk from the old port which offers many restaurants and tourists shops.
Very nice breakfast with many options. Valet parking is a big plus.
She is amazing at everything she does. I really appreciate her welcoming attitude. I have never been more welcomed at any other location. Being an outsider I really appreciate being involved in her day to day
Entire staff provided service with a smile which made our stay extra special.
Rooms were well furnished with a PS5 game console in our suite.
Breakfast was awesome.
Located near restaurants and market.
The room was clean and the service was excellent in all areas. We will come back again and definitely we recommend this hotel to people to enjoy this beautiful hotel in the heart of the city
Chania Town, Par. 5i Kissamou 55 (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Very good city location by walking distance to the Port, Bazaar (Central) and short driving distance to the Hanya Beaches. Excellent and very warm hospitality! Good room with good-brand almost new furnished bathroom
The view of the hotel pool from our balcony. The staff is extremly friendly (and funny), the hotel looks very good, the breakfast buffet has a big variation of products
The staff at the hotel were warm and welcoming, friendly, helpful and made our holiday better!
Very special thanks to Michael, Vassilis and Alexandros from F&B Team and Anastasia from the Reception for their utmost kind and smiley care on all
It did not have the widest selection of food but still nice regardless. The bathroom was very modern and gorgeous. Although I did not request a balcony room, I still had a small balcony anyway which was nice
Less than a fifteen minute walk to the old town and main seafront area. There was a great supermarket close to the hotel, which was good to pick up a few extra things for my stay. Overall, I loved my stay here
Chania Town, Nikiforou Foka 10, Str (in the centre) 🧭 Map
We stayed here last year and when we needed another night in Chania before joining a trip it was the obvious place to come. As before, we were made very welcome at Reception as we arrived even later than we had said
Guest rooms were clean and exactly what they promised, the pool side breakfast and pool area was wonderful and quiet. The meeting space was perfect and the location was so convenient, we could walk everywhere
The staff really stood out- they were incredibly helpful with arranging taxis and even coordinated a medical appointment for me, explaining how the process worked. That level of care made a big difference
I had a wonderful stay here! The location is perfect- you can walk to many areas, and I only needed a taxi to and from the airport. The rooms were impressively quiet; I never heard my neighbors once
The pool was lovely, and breakfast was delicious with a nice variety, plus it stayed open late, which was a great surprise if you want to sleep in
A huge shout out to Yvonne, Georgios and all the front desk staff who truly made it such a positive and smooth experience for us all
Chania Town, Zampeliou 28 - Akti Kountouriotou 24 (in the centre) 🧭 Map
However, once you locate it and go upstairs, the rooms are completely modern and beautiful. The delightful breakfasts are served on the second floor and the staff are all helpful and charming
Despite these various inconveniences, Scala de Faro is one of the nicest boutique hotels I've ever stayed in. The location is fabulous, as you can walk to most of the places you will want to visit in Chania
Be aware that it is located in the middle of the main walkway along the port (although the entrance is on the street behind the port) and can be a little difficult to find
Staff was English speaker which was really good, they were very friendly
Scala de Faro is a small, historic boutique hotel in Chania, Crete
Because it is fairly small and is in a very old building, you will have to walk a flight of stairs to get to the rooms and the small elevator (although there is accommodation for the handicapped)
Chania Town, Parodos 4i Kallinikou Sarpaki 40-42 (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Everything about our stay was superb - the room, the service (morning breakfast & room cleaning) and especially the front desk personnel and their very personalized attention to our requests for information, advice and assistance
Words truly cannot describe how much I loved our stay at Monastery Estate Venetian Harbor in Chania. It’s the perfect place to stay right in the heart of Old Town, surrounded by charming shops and incredible food
We were only in Chania for three days, but I would have gladly stayed longer just because of them. Thank you, Maria and Vaggelis, for making our honeymoon as magical as it was. We can’t wait to return one day!
There are not enough good things I can say about this property. It’s beautiful and the staff tend to your every need. Treat yourself to a stay here. The breakfast is so good, and the staff is so welcoming
Every time my husband and I came downstairs, one of them would greet us with a warm smile and friendly conversation. They recommended the best restaurants in town and made us feel instantly at home
What truly made our experience unforgettable though, were the two concierges, Maria and Vaggelis. They were the most accommodating, kind, and genuinely sincere hotel staff I have ever encountered
Chania Town, Manousogiannakidon 8 (in the centre) 🧭 Map
The location is excellent and travel is very convenient. The bus station is within a 3-minute walk. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean. But the rooms facing the street are a bit noisy
Friendly staff, Great location , within walking distance to the harbor , super clean and great breakfast
It was clean , the people were friendly , location was very good
The washroom very small with no shelf to leave your everyday personal items, making it a little difficult especially when you are there for 8 nights
Breakfast was more than plenty and delicious and the staff, Nicollet & Anna were always with a smile and ready with our double greek coffee
Reception staff especially Mikel & Vicky, all amazing, very friendly and always willing to help
Chania Town, Akti Enoseos & Glafkou (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Thanks to their fantastic recommendations for dinner reservations, local gyro spots, the most beautiful beaches, and more, we were able to truly enjoy everything the area has to offer
The Hotel Porto Veneziano is by far one of the best locations for Chania. The view from our 3rd floor balcony was amazing. Perfect for a glass of wine and the view in the evening
It is easy walking distance to interesting areas of this beautiful town. The staff goes over and above to please the visitors. Friendly bar tender and the included breakfast was delicious
And the onsite restaurant offers some of the best homemade dolmades we’ve ever had. Next time we will try the made-to-order galaktobouriko. An added bonus is their onsite parking. I highly recommend this hotel
Always an awesome stay! This is our go-to hotel in Chania. The rooms are quiet and spotless. The staff from the front desk to dining room to housekeeping are always professional and friendly
The hotel’s food and bar were excellent, and from the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and completely safe. We can’t thank the staff enough for their warmth and hospitality
When it came to parking the valet service was amazing. again our team's hours were out of the ordinary and well outside of the staff's hours. When the team lead explained, again, the staff
accommodated our needs
The location was great - nearly in the middle of Chania and within walking distance of the old town and the port. The service was great, with the staff really trying to be very helpful
Breakfast was great with lots of choice. Parking was interesting tho, but the staff helped heaps to ensure that we could arrive and leave without too much fuss. The rooms were quite roomy and the beds comfy
We stayed at Samaria Hotel for four nights as a couple with a toddler, and the experience was simply wonderful. The hotel is charming with a perfect location, everything is spotless and sparkling clean
The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed, making the stay very comfortable. Breakfast is amazing, generous, and delicious. Above all, the staff are exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and warm
Service was impeccable and thanks to Bena, Maria, Likourgos and George for their hospitality and awesome advice on things to do (and avoid). Stay in the top floor penthouse if you can
Chania Town, Staratigoy Tzanakaki 23 (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Beautiful hotel in the city center, walking distance to the old town which is filled with restaurants and shopping spots, across the street from an amazing coffee shop, kind staff, clean and felt safe! Around 10 parking spots in the underground lot first come first serve otherwise parking free on hotel street ! Breakfast had good variety of options! Would recommend !
Located centrally, this hotel is stunning. Parking can be a bit tricky if you are used to North American style car garages, but nothing we couldn’t deal with. Breakfast was incredible as well.
The location is quite convenient, fairly close to both the city center and the beach
- Slow WiFi
- Parking: limited spots in their parking lot, street parking was difficult and confusing, we came back to 4 parking tickets on our windshield
Positives:
+ Hotel is beautiful and centrally located
+ Excellent free breakfast
+ Staff is friendly and helpful
+ Rooms are clean and pretty
+ Rooms had small private balconies
The hotel has a parking area, but it’s quite small and often full, so we had to look for street parking instead, which wasn’t easy to find – and that was already in mid-September, so I can only imagine how hard it must be during high season
The breakfast was so much more than the usual self service. Fresh, plentiful, delicious, perfectly staffed, nothing I would change. The room was generous, toiletries exceptional, again, I’d change nothing
Chania Town, Sali Helidonaki 12 (in the centre) 🧭 Map
That is not to say that the rooms are dated, on the contrary, there is the latest air conditioning units, Nespresso coffee machines, a small fridge, toiletries, bathrobes, slippers and wonderful modern showers …
We absolutely loved our stay at Captain Vasilis Hotel in Chania Old Town! The room with a balcony was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had a stunning view of the harbor
Very authentic small hotel inside the old town and on a quiet street. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. The owner Vasilis was friendly and kind Person. Breafkast made fresh every morning from local products
But one standout is just how beautiful the hotel is and where it is located. You are front and center over the water and staying in the hotel takes you back in time
On our last day, when we unfortunately had food poisoning, she went above and beyond by bringing us a late breakfast and helping us find nearby pharmacies. Her kindness and genuine care meant so much to us
Beautiful views and close to everything but set back enough (although depending on the wind you’ll hear the late-night bars across the harbour). Vasilis is very laid back and gave us some good recs

Budget hotel in the elia hotel family. Very good value for the money. A largish room, clean, great bed, air conditioning, fridge, and all the toiletries a good hotel provides (dental, shaving, shower kits)
Well lighted with lots of spare power sockets for your charging needs
Lovely place in superb location
Nice place to stay in the old town of Chania. Be aware that the reception is located in 200m from the hotel (in their second hotel, they basically have one reception for two places)
Very nice decoration with all comforts but too small rooms
The location was excellent, in the heart of old town -- very closed to the shops and restaurants. Our room was in the back of the building so it was quiet. The room was very comfortable and clean
Chania Town, Chortatson Square (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Very centrally located for walking everywhere!
The hotel is in a very good area. Room was ver clean with every day housekeeping
The accommodation was perfect! Very close to the central bus station for cheap trips to the beach if desired. My accommodation was right at the old city’s centre and it was lovely
A bit noisy at night as there are singers that perform on the streets but that stops around 11 pm. The hotel staff were always present and very accommodating and nice
Will Definitely Stay Again
The staff were all very friendly and plenty of them speak English
On the other hand shower cabin without door and the water splashing out, wardrobe very small with just 4 hangers, no light in the bathroom ( just small mirror light) , coffee maker without coffee provided, balcony quite small
Chania Town, 20, Ag. Markou str (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Exquisite hotel in the centre of the old town and port in the beautiful town of Chania. Very comfortable, light airy rooms and beautifully decorated with every attention to detail. Perfect for couples or small family
Right now the hotel is only using 3 rooms at the moment but from what I have seen online from the prior management's use, there are more areas to be reopened. Our room was spacious, clean and well decorated
If you need a traditional hotel with a lobby, restaurant & etc, this isn't for you. However, if you are looking to try something unique and stay in a once-in-a-lifetime kind of place, then this is for you
However, there was loud music from the bar in the square every night and even after the music stopped the noise from the bar was loud. We didn’t sleep for 3 nights and left one night early
We were lucky enough to find parking nearby when we arrived, but then we didn't want to drive anywhere after that for fear of losing our parking spot. Otherwise, everything with this hotel was great!
The hotel itself is a converted historic building so each room is unique and charming. Love that our room had a living room and a separate bedroom. Would stay again and highly recommend!!
Beautiful place Our room /luxury apartment is brilliant we have two showers two toilets two wash basins and a separate jacuzzi amazing facilities and friendly staff, Breakfast is great and they can’t do enough for us , Highly recommended
Unbelievable location, right price for what it provides, clean atmosphere and super big apartment for family We stayed 6 nights and everything was perfect!!! Whenever I come to Chania I will first look to find a room here 1 minute from the port on foot
room great but unfortunately the owner is a disaster. We got keys to a room that was in a different location. The owner did not answer the phone. Complete failure. I do not recommend
Excellent location close to everything on a very quiet street. Very comfortable beds, very good shower. Excellent hydromassage in the room. Very good varied and very rich breakfast
Although reception is about 2-3 minutes walk it does not matter , The smiling faces are great
Beautiful room for an affordable price. Loved the walk-in shower.
The room had everything we needed, comfortable bed, balcony, powerful shower, sofa and kitchenette. Beds were made up everyday. Everyone was friendly, helpful and made us feel so welcome. Would definitely go back again
Fantastic location. Great view from the balcony. Hotel staff was very friendly and very responsive to questions. Overall a great experience!
Beautiful room with a great view, and perfect location for exploring the waterfront in Chania.
Very nice people
The room Very clean
Good location
One note, you will not be able to park a car closer than maybe 6 or 7 blocks from this hotel. Pack an easy to carry bag with what you need for your stay. Leave the rest of your luggage in your car (if you have one)
No words can describe the hospitality of the owner, Eleutheria. The hotel was absolutely spotless, right in the middle of the old town with restaurants, shops and everything in between
This hotel only has 7 rooms and Eleutheria and the ladies who prestar this hotel were amazing! Be advised that there is no parking around this hotel as it's in the pedestrian district of Old Town Chania so do your research about parking beforehand! Also, there is no elevator so I would advise not taking a large suitcase (as I did)
Highly recommend this place! our stay was amazing and we are very grateful to have met such a perfect host! Thank you!😊
We were warmly welcomed and received many local recommendations and helpful tips. The location is superb right in the city center, but not too loud. Would highly recommend this stay!
Wonderful Old Town Location!
We had a wonderful stay. The service and location are both excellent. We hope to be back again someday. I also want to thank you for your help before our arrival regarding parking our vehicle
Chania Town, Milonogianni 12 (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Rooms are comfortable and all equipment works well. Most of all, hotel is ideally located at the gates of the old city, and at 5 minutes walk from the central bus or taxi stations
A wonderful overnight stay at this hotel. I had just been discharged from the local hospital and booked this hotel very late at night and arrived approximately 10pm. Situated in a lovely street in Chania
The room was exceptionally clean, lovely shower area, comfortable beds, AC and balcony area
Location was dead centre in Chania allowing great accessibility to all the local sights, restaurants & views
She welcomed my family who came to visit and assisted us with numbers for doctors and arranged our taxi. When they did need the room back she made us welcome and comfortable in the reception area for as long as i needed
I had a great stay at this hotel. Very clean and spacious room with a nice balcony. The reception was always friendly and adapted very well to my requests. I can definitely recommend this place to stay in Chania!

I have stayed in El Creco for a week with my family to celebrate my birthday. We were a group of 9 (6 adults and 3 children under 10). The staff and hotel are very welcoming and try to help you with everything
Unforgettable
This was my 3rd time stating at the aEl Greco hotel and I was pleasantly wowed by thr renovation that was undertaken since my last visit
A hotel right in the centre of everything, yet the location is rather quiet. Very clean hotel and very accommodating staff. A definite recommendation.
The hotel maintains its Cretan charm and pride with modern and well-maintained amenities and excellent service from all the staff. I look forward to my return!
The staff was very welcoming and helpful The breakfast was quite tasty and fresh The price also I find quite cheap for 5 nights that we stayed Overall very nice hotel, with nice rooms and location Would recommend
A beautiful modern hotel located on the edge of the old town with a stunning roof top bar where you can watch the sun set. The room we stayed in was spacious with a comfy bed and a nice quiet air-con system
