The resort is huge so although it was full, you couldn’t feel it. Nice activities, lots of pools, you can always find a spot with a sun bed in one of the pools. The variety of food is good and you can can always find what (and where) to eat. We had a great time!

This is a lovely resort, really quite unique as it's like being in a village. There are 7 restaurants which is nice as you can have a different dinner experience instead of the buffet all the time. I absolutely will never fault the staff at mitsis royal mare. They are truly excellent, their level of care and attention is second to none. Myself and my partner have really enjoyed our stay at Lyttos Mare. The service from bar staff has been spot on. The entertainment has been amazing... in particular John who is a very warm and funny character. We were very lucky to revieve an upgrade on our room which had a pool!

We booked a different hotel and really didn’t feel comfortable so found this place and transferred here the same night of check in. We were so relieved. We stayed for a week in a suite with a private pool and loved it. The staff were excellent to a fault, especially the bar staff - couldn't rate them high enough. The food was much better than your average all inclusive resort, especially the Veranda for breakfast (courtesy of our room) and Abrazo Mexican. If you're going to Crete and want a 5 star resort then you should consider the Stella Palace....

Our stay at Insula Alba Resort & Spa was absolutely wonderful - the hotel is beautiful, relaxing, and truly perfect for a peaceful vacation. This was a 5 star hotel 25 years ago, now max 3 stars. Overal a bit dirty, old material, just not what we expected. Also i asked a drink at 5h in the morning and this was not possible, so thats not the service you provide as a 5-star in Europe. They need do downgrade this hotel asap.

All staff were first class, Stefanos the Restaurant Manager was five star and personable in attendance to us and it was a joy to chat with him. The pools are all amazing and accessible beach made the stay enjoyable.
