Hotel Esperia in Sanremo

The only positive thing is the location, very close to the station and the Lungomare. For the rest, forget it. The rooms are not very clean and clearly in decay, one of us even had a lamp "hanging" at best on an old and wobbly support near the bed. One night is even too much and only if you really can't find anything else.

English: Rather disappointing hotel, in fact, it was at a lower cost than those in the surrounding area, even though it is listed as a three star. It is certainly convenient to the city center and the main points of interest, but this is one of the few positive aspects in addition to the possibility of having a parking lot (just right for a medium-sized car) in the open in a rather narrow street next to the building, under a condominium, therefore not exactly easy to enter and exit if you have to use the car several times a day. The furnishings of the rooms and common areas are old and of questionable taste. Of course, taste is certainly questionable and subjective, however the guest has the impression of a hodgepodge... as if materials of various origins had been readapted and "assembled". The cleanliness is barely sufficient in the rooms, while the visible parts, such as the entrance and corridors, are better kept. The same cannot be said for the breakfast room where wearing a transparent glove is not synonymous with cleanliness, if in addition to picking up food it is used to pick up what falls on the floor (with lots of swearing for the effort). Luckily there were several packaged things because the "fresh" ones did not give the impression of being so. At the end of breakfast the table is set up and cleaned of crumbs in an approximate way, without even passing a wet rag or replacing the placemat. The room and bathroom are very small and therefore may be fine for a stay of a few days, but I find a "beach" holiday unthinkable given that there is no place to hang anything and the room has no balcony. In any case there is air conditioning. In short I do not recommend staying in this hotel because it does not correspond to a three-star service.
