It’s super convenient in the heart of Bellagio, reception staff are v helpful n friendly n patient. There’s Daikin air con n very cool.

The hotel is great! The best location!!! A little noisy! They gave us a room on the 3rd floor with a gorgeous view of the lake, thank you!!! New bathroom! High-quality bed linen! Breakfasts in a beautiful hall, very tasty!!! You can swim in the pool!!!

The hotel is well located, right where the ferries depart, but it's quite old; the elevator is broken. The buffet breakfast was good, but several items were out of stock.

Helpful staff, good breakfast, great location, close to ferry, restaurants. We enjoyed our short stay at Hotel Excelsior Splendide.

Excellent location, Hotel was clean. Polite staff. Breakfast was fine. Lift was reliable. Hotel had character. Nice lounge area at the front. TV had Netflix and YouTube apps. HOWEVER, No proper hand towels (tea towels). No fridge. No control whatsoever for the aircon/heater. Terrible smell in the bathroom. Smallest shower cubicle I've ever seen. No area at all to put the soap or shampoo. The aircon unit was not able to be switched off. Very noisy. Impossible to sleep with that noise (not normal aircon noise). Very basic under-decorated room. We decided to leave a day early (to protect our sanity) and unfortunately lost our money for that day. We never left a hotel earlier than intended in 30 years of travelling. Consider this a 2 star hotel and you'll be OK.

Very disappointed in the hotel.
Room bland & impersonal- vast expanse of cream walls with one small mirror on the wall.
No ‘facilities’ in the room eg tea / coffee / fridge, only on chair in double room, reception / lobby had good seating area but if you wanted anything to drink you had to cross the road to the hotel’s restaurant & pay restaurant prices 4euro for tea ? .
Breakfast room had no atmosphere & frankly most of staff looked as if they would rather be somewhere else. Breakfast offering very limited.
We had a lake view room, great view but had to ask hotel night reception to request that the people in the restaurant ( closed at 11.30pm) keep the noise down - it was 12.40pm - they did quieten down when spoken to.
Sadly can not recommend hotel ( first time I’ve ever felt this way about a hotel) . It’s tired, sad & needs a lot of attention.

Hotel Excelsior Splendide is in a perfect spot for travel to LAKE COMO , centrally located with steps to the many ferries that stop there daily.
Within 1000 feet are 4 ports for everything from car boats to fast boats and water taxis.
Bellagio is very hilly with steps that seem to go on forever. There is a tremendous amount of shopping directly around the hotel.
There is a derelict hotel next door that is being renovated, slowly.
The hotel Excelsior was built in 1907, there is much marble throughout as it was at one time a splendid edifice, now it is a little tired.
The rooms are dated, but clean, everything was clean the people cleaning the hotel arrive early and start doing the kind of cleaning you rarely see, dusting lights, polishing windows and doors.
Don't get me wrong the hotel is still desirable, for a five day stay in a three person room we spent close to $1,800. This include a breakfast daily. The breakfast was fair, too many flys buzzing around for my taste, so I ate the fresh baked bread they made daily.
