Hotel Lungarno Vespucci 50 in Florence

My wife and I have stayed in several upscale/luxury hotels, but we both agreed that this was our favorite. The building is a two-century-old city palace of the former Russian ambassador to Florence, Demidoff, and it's very impressive. Due to Demidoff's keen interest in art and culture, this building was home to Tolstoy and Tchaikovsky during their stays in Florence, and the interior is designed with meticulous attention to detail, such as the carved marble fireplaces, marble handrails, and the amazing original paintings on the walls and ceiling in the breakfast room. All the ceilings and windows are approximately 5 meters high, creating a palace-like atmosphere that recently built luxury hotels simply can't match. These details are extremely well preserved, and modern amenities in the rooms, such as air conditioning and bathrooms, have been beautifully furnished using classic building materials. The staff is genuinely focused on ensuring maximum guest comfort in every way, at a higher level than in other 5-star hotels we've stayed in. They all speak good English. The property has several excellent outdoor areas for any weather and any mood. The hotel is located in the secure zone of the US Embassy, so there is very little traffic and maximum security, and it's just a five- to ten-minute walk from Florence's main attractions along the riverfront or some of Florence's beautiful streets. We will be back and highly recommend Hotel Lugarno Vespucci to all our friends.

Started off in a room with a tiny shower, smaller than a cruise shower. Spoke to the staff and upgrade to a different room which was amazing. The staff was very helpful and always happy to great you. The breakfast was a little expensive. I ordered the French toast that came with ham and cheese. What came out was a grilled cheese sandwich, lol??

It did not appear to be a traditional hotel that I would be used to (it would be comparable to a B&B in the United States). There was no signage so it was hard to know where to go. The manager was never seen on the property, but very responsive. We needed the communication in order to even get into the building/check in. The hotel is located on one of the floors within said building. It appeared there were only four rooms within this hotel. It is advertised as free luggage storage however, our luggage was placed behind the receptionist counter with no receptionist just the cleaner who was watching it during the time of checkout to when we had left, which was about 3 to 4 hours. There was black mold on the ceiling of the shower and the shower did not drain well as you were standing in buildup of 2 to 3 inches of water at the base, the room itself was extremely clean and very spacious, especially for a room in the city; very walkable to shops and restaurants nearby. Would return to stay at this hotel but wish I had additional information on ******* so I knew that there would not be an employee at the reception desk daily.

Beautiful hotel with a gorgeous view of the river from the common terrace, breakfast room, and our room with a private terrace. All the staff were very helpful, professional, warm, and friendly. Quiet, soundproofed rooms so we slept great. Comfy beds, blackout curtains, and recently renovated rooms (we were in 21). The water briefly stopped a couple of times but it came back on quickly. The breakfast room is to die for with original frescoes in the ceiling and walls. A gem of a hotel and we would definitely stay again.

Strongly recommended! Located right by the Arno River. Florence itself is quite compact, so all the major attractions are within walking distance. The staff were extremely warm and attentive. The room was spotless, neatly arranged, and equipped with scented diffusers – very satisfied!

The hotel room is very good, comfortable and spacious. There are murals on the roof of the restaurant, which should be the house of a rich family. There is a 24-hour service in the hotel lobby, and there are very nice smiles every day, which feels very warm. In the mini bar in the room, you can drink water, drinks and cola as you like, which is quite generous. The only drawback is the geographical location. All the attractions are on the east side of the train station, and the hotel is on the west side of the train station. Although it is not very far, it is a bit difficult to get there on such a hot day. Of course, you can take the bus, but after trying it, the bus experience is not very good.

It is about a 12-minute walk from Santa Maria Novella Station. It is a bit far from the main sightseeing place, but we enjoyed the view of the river on the way. There are some great bars and gelateria in the area. The room we booked was in an annex building. Albeit a little small, it was beautiful, quiet and comfortable. The hair shampoos, treatments, and hand soap used were from Florence and were of excellent quality. Other facilities were also really nice.
The staff was kind and very helpful. Overall, we loved it!

It is completely based on my aesthetic standards. The service, the details in the room, and the layout of the restaurant are all very good. It was an unexpected surprise during the trip!
