Hotel Ferretti in Florence

This hotel isn't really suitable for inexperienced travelers, as there isn't staff available 24/7. There's also almost no service; they don't even change the towels. The shared showers have absolutely no water pressure and are unsanitary. While there are staff members, they're a bit unfriendly. However, the location is great, which made sightseeing easy.

Truly the epitome of "you get what you pay for". Completely underwhelming. The only saving grace is the location.

We started out in room #9, but as it was nothing like the pictures (and the sink had a "do not use" sign on it), we immediately asked for another room. We politely dealt with somebody somewhere on WhatsApp, and got moved to the marginally better apartment on the 4th floor. Some refuse in the room, a toilet that wouldn't fill (I fixed it), a shower drain that was plugged (plus shower door mould & a broken toilet seat), radiators that were too hot to touch (but I managed to get the valve handle back on to shut it off, even though it was leaking), etc.

The online pictures are from this place during a previous life. No breakfast, 3 days with no room service (the piece of soap was getting pretty thin!), and there never appeared to be anyone around, other than when we checked in.

The hotel is nothing like the photos they have posted. The room... I don't even know where to begin. The walls were stained with strange things, there were holes everywhere, the floors were dirty, and the tiles were so loose you could easily cut yourself. The mattresses were so hard you felt like you were sleeping on the floor. The only good thing was the location, because otherwise...

Stayed for 2 nights. The check-in experience was quite unpleasant — although a WhatsApp number was provided on the wall, it took almost an hour to get a reply. It was a late check-in, and we were only able to enter the property because two guests happened to be leaving. The reception area was cluttered, and we had to complete the self check-in process through another WhatsApp number shared by those guests. We retrieved the key from the wall and entered the room ourselves. Unfortunately, the room was smelly, dirty, and very run down. Toilet paper was only provided upon request, and there was no room service on the second night. The only positive aspect was its convenient location.

The area is okay.
The room was reasonably clean, but the rest of the building and common areas were spotty.
The bed was extremely uncomfortable, the pillow was uncomfortable, the soundproofing was nonexistent, and the rooms were all right next to each other. If you want to sleep in and wake up early for a flight, it's difficult because there's too much noise, people coming and going, and the doors are loud. It felt like a hotel that operates by the hour. People don't respect silence, and there's no one to supervise.
The sink in the room was broken and unusable. Only one tiny bathroom shared with I don't know how many rooms. There was only one blanket, not enough to keep you warm at night, the room was very cold, and the furnishings looked like something out of a thrift store. An embarrassing stay.

Is not an hotel, not an hostal, just a very old and dirty place! The pics at the site are so cute but it's a big lie... I'll never be back again. They ask you for 6 euro by person (extra, leaving the money inside the room) but they don't give you a receipt. Choose another hotel or you will regret.... It was my worst experience ever!

Upon check-in, guests are asked to send photos of their passport via email or WhatsApp. Unfortunately, their email does not function—likely due to an expired domain—leaving WhatsApp as the only option to send sensitive identification documents, which raises serious privacy concerns.

We specifically paid extra for a private bathroom. However, when using it, I noticed water dripping from the ceiling. Upon closer inspection, it became clear that this was wastewater from the toilet in the room above us. This means human waste was literally dripping onto us while using the facilities—completely unacceptable and unsanitary. The ceiling was also heavily infested with mold. The bathroom was unusable, and we ended up having to go elsewhere just to use the restroom.

We immediately contacted the property, and they replied the next day (24 hours later) saying someone would arrive within 10 minutes. When we returned, nothing had been addressed—the bathroom remained in the same horrifying condition.

We requested a full refund, but have since received no response. There is no one available at the front desk, and communication is non-existent.

The room itself had a broken sink. We were not given any blankets, just a single bed sheet.

While I can tolerate minimal service, I cannot accept paying extra for what is clearly a biohazard. The lack of hygiene, safety, and customer support is completely unacceptable.
