Locanda Orchidea in Florence

There was a lot of “self help” required. The desk shuts down at 5ish and it’s back till around 8. Breakfast is optional at this “B&B”, but it’s only €7.

The housekeeping was excellent and the shower was great.

The location cannot be beat however the room did not appear to be the same as the photos. It's a bit older and the sound proofing isn't great. They also have very limited working hours for check-in.

Very quiet, clean and great room. Big bathroom. About 13 minute walk to train station. 8 mins to cathedral.

The room was spacious and tidy. Conveniently close to a lot of restaurants and bars!

Perfect location . Located in beautiful building with elevator. Walk to sites all within 15 to so minutea/. Very good sound proofing when windows closed. Excellent AC . Appreciated help with calling taxi when we left. The only possible issue is entering building - have to call by home cell phone so more difficult with eSIM. Cafe, breakfast, gelato, take our lunch sandwiches , grocery , pharmacy, ATM, all less than 5 minute walk away

Pleasant stay, very convenient location with plenty of good eateries and bars nearby. Clean and comfortable bed, could do with firmer pillows, nice seating area in the room. Nice clean bathroom, typically Italian breakfast for 7 euro. Would stay again for the location.

Very nice staff especially Victoria! Delicious breakfast buffet choices. Close to lots of restaurants and stores. Helped us by calling cabs for us, giving us directions.

My stay at Locanda Orchidea was nothing short of phenomenal — a hidden Florentine gem nestled in the heart of the city, where history whispers through ancient walls and hospitality feels like a warm embrace. Every corner radiated charm, from the peaceful courtyard to the elegantly restored rooms that felt like a dream from another century. Waking up to the gentle light of Florence and stepping outside to find the Duomo just minutes away was pure magic. It wasn’t just a stay — it was an experience steeped in beauty, comfort, and timeless Italian soul.

We had a wonderful stay. The room was spacious and comfortable in a charming historic building. The manager stayed a bit late for us so could be there for our check in. The area is wonderful with many quality restaurants nearby and super close to the center. One thing to note: This is not a B&B. There is no breakfast offered. While it is true that breakfast was not mentioned in our reservation, there are pictures of breakfast in the listing and, by definition, B&B is bed and breakfast, so we were a bit confused by that. The gentleman explained that the hotel is under new management and no breakfast was offered. I think ******* should remove B&B from the title (The hotel plaque on the building does not have B&B) and remove the breakfast photos as well. That would clear everything up. Please, do not let the lack of breakfast stop you. This is a wonderful place to stay! And there is an amazing bakery/coffee bar a block away ;)
