The hotel is conveniently located about a 10-minute walk from the train station, though the route can be a bit winding, so a navigation app is recommended as it might be hard to find otherwise. The gardens at the entrance and in the restaurant are beautiful and a delight to the eyes. Overall, the hygiene is excellent – clean and bright. All services were prompt and efficient. The front desk staff were professional and welcoming, helping with luggage to the room, and offering luggage storage. Breakfast was plentiful (for European standards), with both complimentary and à la carte options available. Enjoying breakfast in the garden was also a big plus. It's close to various attractions, all within walking distance.

A wonderful hotel with great service, and the breakfasts are beyond praise. There's a lovely inner courtyard with a small garden. It's not far from the train station, but you'll need to walk a bit to get to the main attractions.

I have had the opportunity to try several hotel breakfasts during my travels and the one at Palazzo Montebello did not match the hotel’s standard. There wasn’t much variety.
On the other hand, the room was absolutely beautiful, as was the bathroom: very clean, spacious, and well maintained. The hotel itself is lovely, full of charm, and the lounge area is particularly pleasant.
The more delicate point concerns the staff. I found part of the staff not very welcoming, which made the experience somewhat awkward at times. This was the first time I have ever felt this way in a hotel. With the exception of two or three staff members who were kind and professional, some did not greet us.
I think the overall experience could have been improved with a warmer attitude from the staff. Again, the hotel is truly beautiful, well decorated, and has a very lovely outdoor space.

First, the pros: a beautiful environment filled with a pleasant aroma; the hot water in the bathroom came quickly and had plenty of pressure.
Now for the cons: We stayed in room 128, and perhaps due to the building's age, the soundproofing was very poor.
The shower's waterproofing system was extremely bad; every time we finished showering, water would overflow onto the bathroom floor. There was also a damp, musty smell in the bathroom, as if it were coming from the pipes. The room floor was very slippery and easy to fall on. There seemed to be an ant nest behind the right side of the headboard, and ants would come out and crawl around on the floor; I called the front desk to explain the situation, and their initial solution was to spray ant bait on the floor. After spraying, they said, "I'll come back later to clean the floor," and then left. However, I was grateful that they later changed our room.
Also, the water in the minibar was chargeable (this was the only hotel I stayed at in Italy where water was chargeable).

I had a great stay at this hotel. The hotel is in a very accessible neighborhood, we could walk everywhere easily, and it felt safe even 10-11 pm. Inside, the hotel was clean with a consistently pleasant scent throughout. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was good and the room itself was quiet, comfortable, and nicely maintained. The only thing were that the bathroom didn’t have a vent and the room cleanliness was decent but not spotless. Still, overall it was a good and enjoyable experience and I would consider staying here again.

We enjoyed an exceptional stay at this hotel. The facilities are beautiful, but the professionalism of the staff is what really stands out. Their personalized, detail-oriented, and courteous service made this a hotel I would choose again whenever I return to Florence.
