Hakuba Tokyu Hotel, Hakuba1 / 30
9.0
Hakuba, 4688 Hokujo 🧭 Map
Lovely hotel in the middle of Hakuba. Location is a little secluded and without a car, it takes some effort to get to the city or around. We were happy to stay and chill at the hotel though
Bathing facilities were good, both indoor and outdoor facilities. Buffet breakfast had both Japanese and western food. Hotel picked you up/dropped you off from Hakuba Bus terminal
Best hotel you can get there. Near the kokusai lift, rhytm rental. Very good breakfast!
Hakuba Tokyu Hotel boasts an excellent location, conveniently close to Happo One Ski Resort, with a free shuttle service making it ideal for winter ski trips
The hotel's European castle-style design is grand and impressive, and the rooms are spacious and clean. The public onsen bath is perfect for relaxation, and the breakfast buffet offers a rich and diverse selection
Both the French and Japanese restaurants provide high-quality dining experiences. The service is professional and warm, and the hotel offers outstanding value for money. Highly recommended for a ski holiday!

The staff is very helpful and know the area well, giving you tips on where will be good to board/ski on any given day which helps with getting more powder runs with less crowd. Definitely recommend this place!
Lovely people! Very welcoming and helpful! Was a cosy place to stay!
We had an amazing holiday at The Powder Temple, largely due to the exceptional staff and the welcoming atmosphere they created. I want to be very clear from the outset: the staff made this place what it was
Chef Freya cooked great food, the two showers that were working were reliably hot, and having a bar on site was a nice bonus (although drinks were pretty exy)
Always up for a laugh and drink after hours with heaps of knowledge of the areas to ski/board on a particular day. Do not look elsewhere if you want a home away from home and not a hotel feel
Hannah, Jack, Freya, and the two Swedish guys were outstanding hosts throughout our stay. Their hospitality was genuine, warm, and consistent

I am very satisfied with this hotel, the location is great, the staff is friendly and the room is comfortable. The room was very comfortable in terms of lighting, temperature and bedding
Room was clean, a bit small for what we booked. Breakfast was okay, mix of Japanese and Western. The onsen was the real highlight — so refreshing after a day out. Even without snow, Mominoki was a great base
The room is old, but the ski location is good
Stayed late June to see the stunning Itawake view. No skiing, just soaking in Hakuba’s nature. Hotel was peaceful, surrounded by trees — perfect for relaxing walks. Staff were friendly and super helpful
I would especially like to praise the housekeeping sister for keeping the room very clean. The room has two terraces, one of which overlooks the Happo-One Ski Resort
We stayed for six nights and the breakfast food was roughly the same every day, but also rich. We had dinner at different restaurants in the hotel on three nights

Since I couldn't catch the free shuttle bus to the ski resort, I returned to the hotel to pick up the luggage and take the highway bus back to Shinjuku
Fantastic helpful staff, great rooms and beautiful location
The hotel was built in an older era, so the facilities are not comparable to those of newer hotels. However, the sanitation condition is okay, the service is full marks, and the overall stay experience is still very good
The Shadian building is full of European style. Upon arrival, a hotel attendant will introduce in detail the services provided by the hotel, and provide hot tea and snacks, which is full of ritual and warmth
As for the food, the breakfast in the morning only had American and Pancake sets to choose from, and the taste was average. For the Japanese food in the hotel that night, I ordered Shabu Shabu
The hotel thoughtfully sent a special car and luggage to the station for free. The service provided by the Japanese is worth learning from the service industry in Hong Kong

Facilities: The equipment is relatively old, but well maintained; Hygiene: It's OK, but I have a mysophobia, and some corners are still relatively dark after wiping with alcohol for a while; Environment: It should be said that it is good, located in the forest
It is a relatively remote location, but the environment is very good. But it is basically impossible to get a taxi or hotel bus outside, and it takes about 30 minutes to walk to Bafang Hot Spring
This European-style ski hotel is located in the forest. There are few guests in the off-season. The hotel's French food is good, but the decoration is a bit old.
I have stayed at this hotel four times since 2012 and come for winter, both Christmas and Chinese New Year. The hotel is beautiful nestled in the forest
The lobby is cozy with a fireplace for roasting marshmallows, the restaurant picturesqe with surround glass windows to watch the snow fall during dinner, the rooms are spacious, clean and lovely with deep plunge tubs for soaking at the end of the day
At the end of the day they again greet you at the door to welcome you and give you your warmed up shoes to change into. They help with securing dining reservations in town, and assist you with transportation to and from

There are many free buses to various ski resorts near the hotel. If you take the bus, you should get off at Goryu Hotel to avoid walking uphill with your luggage
Large room, nice place, clean and quite. But my room is far from the lobby. If you have a heavy baggages, not easy (there’re few stairs before elevator)
Good location, 2 mins walking distance to evergreen ski school and the 4 mins saka beginner lifts of happo one. Cheap buffet dinner 1080 yen per person with drinks including beer and wine included
A bit small, but close enough 1The hotel is small, but the location is superb! You can see the landmarks when you open the window, and walk to the popular check-in spots in a few minutes
The hotel is old. But the location and food are good.
Location is fantastic, just a minute walk away from the one of the ski lifts and a short walk to many restaurants and bars. Breakfast and dinner buffets are cheap and pretty tasty for the most part

There was a typo on the menu (appetizer listed as '24mouth' instead of '24month'), and when I kindly pointed it out, they acted as if I was deliberately looking for trouble
I also recommend booking the silk bath early; having it to myself for nearly an hour was fantastic. The hotel's location is also good, not far from Mu Pond Ski Resort, making transportation convenient
The facilities were what stood out at this hotel, from the complimentary red bean soup and crackers post-ski, to the beautiful public and private onsen with free ice pop and coffee milk, to the ping-pong table that our boys enjoyed in the evening
We booked the evening meals package with Ctrip which made it very convenient to have dinner in the hotel. The food was delicious although there was too much of it and it took 90mn to complete the course
The Western food and service were both good. However, the kids' menu didn't change much. The Japanese food selection wasn't very extensive.
Awesome resort. Have free refreshments after ski and at night.

We stayed as a group of 6. Very comfortable, spacious, modern and well equipped place. Nice drying room. Subscriptions on TV. Excellent value compared to equal places in Australia (probably around half the price)
(Apparently they will stop this due to COVID but I hope they don't because it really sets them apart from the others!). The accom is only 6 mins from Happo bus terminal but it is uphill on return
Amazing accommodation, clean, heated floors, well equipped kitchen. Has a ensuite in the master bed, and then seperate bathroom and toilet. Large drying room with washer and dryer
Staff were friendly and responsive on whatsapp and email. Provided shuttle pick-up and drop off too on arrival/departure. 100% would recommend this accommodation
Tea coffee, detergent, washing powder included. They also provided a van which was invaluable for getting around Hakuba

The public onsen was wonderful, with a beautiful Roten (outdoor) bath - would definitely recommend staying here just for one night to experience the bath. Plenty of option at breakfast (Western & Japanese)
The only recommendation i would ha e for the hotel is to have a Room tvs that have access to streaming services such as netflix or phone projection connectivity. Thank you again Hotel Goryukan!
Amazing place to stay in Hakuba Happo area to snowboard. Our room was spacious and clean with a great view. Bathroom was a bit small but nothing out of the ordinary
Staff were friendly and helpful. They have a shuttle service that you must book a day ahead, the driver was super friendly and knowledgeable as well. Plenty of English speaking staff
(2) My sisters woke up late but they went out of the way to prepare some breakfast for them. (3) On the last day, we had to leave early to catch the train
Absolutely awesome hotel, great breakfast, beautiful Onsen, 5 min walk to a Happo lift and great rooms. An easy 5/5! Bonus points for 200 yen massage chairs!!

Since we did not find out the location until the week before email, we were too late to find any hire car available for the week. Relying on taxi's and Ubers was difficult as they are few and far between in Hakuba
Due to this location, we had a 30 minute walk to one shuttle bus and over a 45 minute walk to restaurants in Echoland, and the hotel provided no shuttle anywhere
We realize the actual location when hotel reply my email that no picking up service and share the location in mail. Villa is ok but it would be goid in case you have car
We enjoyed our stay in Villa G but were disappointed in the lack of clarity of the location of the villa
Great place and we liked everything about it! Awesome location, big and comfortable rooms and lovely staff.
We read all the print of the booking but apparently missed text on a photo stating that the villas were located far away from the hotel

Excellent service and onsen that comes with after free flow of wine and sake at designated hours. Room is spacious and clean, csn pick up fresh towel daily. Breakfast is nice and more than what you could eat.
We stayed in one of the exterior rooms with four bunk beds, a comfortable living space, and a bathroom—perfect for our family of four. Everything was clean, and the staff was incredibly welcoming
Great experience staying here for a week. Booked not long ago so price was higher and without meals. Stayed in the special room with private onsen which was fantastic.
Hakuba Ryujin Onsen was our favorite hotel during our two-week trip to Japan. It has a wonderful traditional Japanese feel paired beautifully with modern styling
We especially loved relaxing in the onsen after a long day on the mountain and the complimentary drinks in the afternoon
Amazing hotel, baths, and especially service. Photos don’t nearly do it justice. Would give it a 12/10 if I could

Dinner was very good, very delicious, but you have to rush with the time. Breakfast may be less than dinner but there is a lot. It is a hotel that maintains Japanese culture
I really like the hot springs here. You can soak in the hot springs while enjoying the beautiful scenery. There is also a shuttle bus to the ski resort
The only downside is that there are almost no restaurants and convenience stores around
I will stay here again next time I come to Baima Village!

Lovely family run hotel in the wonderful Hakuba. Given this was our first time skiing, we really appreciated how much Monica and the team when above and beyond for us
Nothing was too much trouble, including lifts to town and we loved the extra items such as free icy poles, massage chairs and of course the onsen/sauna/ice bath
She drove us to a place where my sons could play with the snow just beside a river and also she drove us the Happo One ski resort. She also arranged someone to pick us up and sent us back to the hotel
It has such a great view of the jumps and mountains, very pretty. Two of our party were injured and the staff were very helpful helping us organise medical treatment. Very helpful and friendly shuttle service
I had a wonderful stay in Hakuba Yamano Hotel. The hotel owners are very friendly and helpful. My son left his backpack in Shirakawago
Treasure Hotel, the boss couple are very nice, basically meet all the requirements (including ski resort pick-up and early use of hot springs), the hotel layout is very cozy, many small details make people feel very warm, including the freedom to enjoy the massage chair after soaking in the hot springs, and free popsicles

Amazing location! Very close to the ski hill and a ski school. This spot also has its own ski rental shop. Great variety in the buffet breakfast too!
The reception man - who studied in Texas - is an absolute treasure for the hotel. He will tell you everything and help you figure out what you need to have a good time here!
thank you again for the excellent hospitality shown by the staff
The hotel has its own lift to get you on the hill that also has the Plaza ski lift on it. Food; breakfast is a smorgasbord, with no heating trays, so everything is cold! (I hate cold eggs and sausage!) Beds are good
I’m prime on an electric wheelchair- there is an elevator! But there are stairs before you can get to it! I was ok as my chair folds and can be walked like a suitcase! Dinner / breakfast was in a separate building - more stairs- breakfast was free, dinner is $5000yen $50 Cnd
They are so clean and the bed is comfortable! There is an onsen nearby (about 8 minutes walk) and the hotel staff was so kind to direct us there and give us the coupons for it

Great location! Super friendly staff! And of course, very delicious dinner! The spa was amazing too!
Although there is no scenery, it is still very comfortable to take a bath after skiing. The restaurant and bar are both very nice. I met the owner and had a pleasant half-day, half-English chat with him
wonderful bordering on magical what a lovely place. the service and staff there is wonderful bordering on magical. this was our first trip to Japan and we were so happy to have chosen hotel traumerie
The historic facility has been modified to the minimum necessary to provide a comfortable space that is suitable for modern times, and the service and consideration were overwhelming
The room is not small for Japan, it is clean and the view outside the window is beautiful. The service is friendly and there is a semi-open-air private hot spring
Amazing dinner by a chef from France, funky steward, awesome owner who knows wine. Will definitely return for the food and the vibe of this place.

Ideally located. Excellent restaurant. Try the sukiyaki and sashimi. Retrofitted western bathrooms are surprisingly efficient with great hot water pressure. Also a very inviting onsen.
Very nice modern and minimalist hotel in the centre of Happo, a short walk from the bus terminal and the gondola. Good strong hot showers and excellent drying lockers for your snow gear
We really loved our stay at the Happo. We stayed for 13 nights and enjoyed the convenience of the location and the shuttle bus to various ski fields
A wonderful hotel to stay in, comfortable beds, clean rooms conveniently located. The staff were faultless.
Location was perfect right opposite Rhythm the ski rentals we usually rent from. Dining options (outside of the HHG group of restaurants) were limited though with most requiring bookings or queuing
Wifi on the 3rd floor dropped out constantly and was almost unusable, and breakfast was poor with stone cold eggs and other cooked breakfast items which was very unappetising

The hotel staff were amazingly helpful - they helped organise the ski rental (ski company came to pick us up and take us to the shop for skis, boots, helmets and clothing) and they arranged for rental company to pick up gear from hotel at end of stay
The cabin itself was amazing, easily big enough for the four of us - two beds upstairs on a mezzanine and two bed downstairs, a living room with flat screen interactive TV, fridge and kettle, plus a good bathroom and shower+bath
Also, they were able to supply discounted ski passes at the front desk and the shuttle bus for the Iimori slopes left from outside the hotel - this was great as our kids did group ski classes there everyday
As many others have pointed out, the breakfasts were a highlight of the day
Truly a wonderful place to stay if skiing in Hakuba
Hosts were amazing breakfast was 10/10 everything about this place was an experience thank you guys untill next year.

We had a very pleasant stay at hotel oak forest. The rooms are quite big and the beds are comfortable. The bathroom is a bit small but the shower is nice
Great location with beautiful mountain views. The room was clean and the food was delicious.
We actually really enjoyed this stay - it was one of the only resorts left in echoland with availability, but it exceeded our expectations
Onsen was a welcome part of the stay after a day of ski. Location is a bit inconvenient as it requires a decent walk or taxi to main bus terminal and other resorts
Rooms were huge, the shuttle bus stop was exactly in front of the door and the staff at the lobby were so so friendly :) yes the hotel it’s a bit old fashioned in style, but nevertheless we had a great ski trip here
But there is accessible restaurants in walking decent to Echoland. The bus for pickup to resorts is directly in front of the hotel or short walk to Echoland spicy for the hakuba valley bus

What truly set our stay apart was the incredible hospitality of the general manager, Tony, and his outstanding staff. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable
The location of the hotel is perfect. Close to the bus terminal made it so easy. We didn’t have a car during our stay and it was easy to walk for food and drinks
The rooms are traditional Japanese style with Tatami mat flooring and we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of both wardrobe and storage space which meant we could completely unpack and make the room our own for the 3 weeks
I loved having a beer at the bar and a chat about where to ski/snowboard or eat. Nothing was too much trouble for the crew! They have a shuttle to take you out for meals at their restaurant’s throughout the village
We lost count of the number of people we met and conversations we had down there and we found ourselves spending most nights, either before or after dinner, chatting away with a cold Sapporo in hand
We just finished our 3 week stay at Berg Land and wow, what an incredible 3 weeks it was. The manager Tony and team have done an exceptional job making the environment a true home away from home

The food was authentic and delicious! The location was really close to all free shuttle stops and the hotel took you to Happo One. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, really helpful
Great location with easy access to everything. Breakfast has enough choices from both western and Japanese foods and we eat there everyday. Generous shuttle bus time frame to Happo one

The hotel is in a great location. It was sad to leave watching all the staff waving goodbye until they could no longer see us with snow coming down
