Lovely hotel in the middle of Hakuba. Location is a little secluded and without a car, it takes some effort to get to the city or around. We were happy to stay and chill at the hotel though
Bathing facilities were good, both indoor and outdoor facilities. Buffet breakfast had both Japanese and western food. Hotel picked you up/dropped you off from Hakuba Bus terminal
Best hotel you can get there. Near the kokusai lift, rhytm rental. Very good breakfast!
Both the French and Japanese restaurants provide high-quality dining experiences. The service is professional and warm, and the hotel offers outstanding value for money. Highly recommended for a ski holiday!
I stayed in this hotel during snowboarding. The staffs were friendly, helpful, and professional. The breakfast was delightful and the dinner was great. I appreciated the ski and snowboard rental service
The hotel's European castle-style design is grand and impressive, and the rooms are spacious and clean. The public onsen bath is perfect for relaxation, and the breakfast buffet offers a rich and diverse selection
Breakfast was excellent, great services too! Convenient and big parking lot if u plan to drive there
Amazing stay at Coutyard in Hakuba, they guided us in every inquiry and the hotel has everything you need to skyin
It was a lovely get away and welcomed us with food and onion soup. There was a 24 7 onsen in our room and it was quite relaxing.
Free shuttle for pick and drop off from station and bus terminal. Ski shuttle is convenient at doorstep of hotel.
The other hotel facilities were pretty basic; there wasn't much to attract us beyond just needing a place to sleep for the night. Because of this, paying over 3100+ per night (including breakfast) felt a bit expensive
The best part about this hotel was definitely the breakfast – they had everything from Japanese to Western options. I especially loved the soba noodles and the fried eggs
I can see that great care had been taken to upkeep the hotel and it’s premises, which are extraordinarily beautiful
Room was clean, a bit small for what we booked. Breakfast was okay, mix of Japanese and Western. The onsen was the real highlight — so refreshing after a day out. Even without snow, Mominoki was a great base
Stayed late June to see the stunning Itawake view. No skiing, just soaking in Hakuba’s nature. Hotel was peaceful, surrounded by trees — perfect for relaxing walks. Staff were friendly and super helpful
I am very satisfied with this hotel, the location is great, the staff is friendly and the room is comfortable. The room was very comfortable in terms of lighting, temperature and bedding
I would especially like to praise the housekeeping sister for keeping the room very clean. The room has two terraces, one of which overlooks the Happo-One Ski Resort
We stayed for six nights and the breakfast food was roughly the same every day, but also rich. We had dinner at different restaurants in the hotel on three nights
Our requests were all carefully accommodated, and our stay was pleasant. The breakfast was delicious and had a unique menu that you won't find anywhere else
The hotel thoughtfully sent a special car and luggage to the station for free. The service provided by the Japanese is worth learning from the service industry in Hong Kong
The parking lot was likely to be full, so a staff member offered to take us to a nearby tourist spot
The hotel was built in an older era, so the facilities are not comparable to those of newer hotels. However, the sanitation condition is okay, the service is full marks, and the overall stay experience is still very good
The Shadian building is full of European style. Upon arrival, a hotel attendant will introduce in detail the services provided by the hotel, and provide hot tea and snacks, which is full of ritual and warmth
As for the food, the breakfast in the morning only had American and Pancake sets to choose from, and the taste was average. For the Japanese food in the hotel that night, I ordered Shabu Shabu
The lobby is cozy with a fireplace for roasting marshmallows, the restaurant picturesqe with surround glass windows to watch the snow fall during dinner, the rooms are spacious, clean and lovely with deep plunge tubs for soaking at the end of the day
At the end of the day they again greet you at the door to welcome you and give you your warmed up shoes to change into. They help with securing dining reservations in town, and assist you with transportation to and from
In the morning they lay out your Ski/Snowboard gear with warm boots they prepared over night, they help you get to the ski slopes, driving you or getting you on the right shuttles
But what really makes this hotel is the staff, they are impeccable. I travel the world for work and pleasure and never have I come across a more genuine team
They are accommodating, helpful, kind and become family for the duration of your stay
Facilities: The equipment is relatively old, but well maintained;
Hygiene: It's OK, but I have a mysophobia, and some corners are still relatively dark after wiping with alcohol for a while;
Environment: It should be said that it is good, located in the forest
There are many free buses to various ski resorts near the hotel. If you take the bus, you should get off at Goryu Hotel to avoid walking uphill with your luggage
Large room, nice place, clean and quite. But my room is far from the lobby. If you have a heavy baggages, not easy (there’re few stairs before elevator)
Awesome hotel, outdoor hot springs! The room is clean and comfortable, the food is OK, the ice cream is delicious, there are many monkeys on the tree in front of the hotel, it's very interesting, downhill is Happo-one
I have to praise the high-quality guests and front desk of the hotel. The child forgot his watch when taking a hot spring bath at night, and found it at the front desk the next day
Only negative was variety of breakfast and dinner buffet was not good and by the 7th day we where pretty over it, not a problem for dinner with food options 5 mins down the hill but a little hard during breakfast when nothing is open and you want to head to the lifts
The food is delicious. The large bathhouse is not a hot spring, but it is OK and clean. The staff are quite professional and the service is good. Among the several chains, the Baima one has the best value for money.
The Western food and service were both good. However, the kids' menu didn't change much. The Japanese food selection wasn't very extensive.
Awesome resort. Have free refreshments after ski and at night.
The hotel is a bit old and has many rules, and the view is just average. The Japanese restaurant is decent, but the food is nothing special. It's a bit far from the ski resort. The hot springs are nice and clean, though
The hotel service was great, and the hot springs were fantastic – loved the milk too! The East Wing is more convenient for accessing the public hot springs. However, I have to complain about the restaurant
Their pillows feel like worthy of $10 value. The bathroom area is not dimmable. The check-out time is at 10am unless you pay 2000yen per hour haha for longer time. Breakfast is only until 9:30am haha
There was a typo on the menu (appetizer listed as '24mouth' instead of '24month'), and when I kindly pointed it out, they acted as if I was deliberately looking for trouble
We stayed as a group of 6. Very comfortable, spacious, modern and well equipped place. Nice drying room. Subscriptions on TV. Excellent value compared to equal places in Australia (probably around half the price)
(Apparently they will stop this due to COVID but I hope they don't because it really sets them apart from the others!). The accom is only 6 mins from Happo bus terminal but it is uphill on return
Amazing accommodation, clean, heated floors, well equipped kitchen. Has a ensuite in the master bed, and then seperate bathroom and toilet. Large drying room with washer and dryer
Staff were friendly and responsive on whatsapp and email. Provided shuttle pick-up and drop off too on arrival/departure. 100% would recommend this accommodation
Tea coffee, detergent, washing powder included. They also provided a van which was invaluable for getting around Hakuba
Stayed here for 8 nights, the hotel staff are super friendly! The onsen is excellent and breakfast has a good variety, close to Iimori and hakuba 47 bus stop and short walk to the local Happo lift
Very nice and spacious indoor and outdoor onsen. Walking distance to ski resort and cable car. Beautiful mountain view in winter. I remember three strong impressions
The public onsen was wonderful, with a beautiful Roten (outdoor) bath - would definitely recommend staying here just for one night to experience the bath. Plenty of option at breakfast (Western & Japanese)
The only recommendation i would ha e for the hotel is to have a Room tvs that have access to streaming services such as netflix or phone projection connectivity. Thank you again Hotel Goryukan!
Staff were friendly and helpful. They have a shuttle service that you must book a day ahead, the driver was super friendly and knowledgeable as well. Plenty of English speaking staff
Amazing place to stay in Hakuba Happo area to snowboard. Our room was spacious and clean with a great view. Bathroom was a bit small but nothing out of the ordinary
We had a very pleasant stay at hotel oak forest. The rooms are quite big and the beds are comfortable. The bathroom is a bit small but the shower is nice
The only recommendation I would make for this place is to maybe replace the carpet in the hallways and common area due to a bit of a smoky musty smell. And saying this our house was very clean
We actually really enjoyed this stay - it was one of the only resorts left in echoland with availability, but it exceeded our expectations
Rooms were huge, the shuttle bus stop was exactly in front of the door and the staff at the lobby were so so friendly :) yes the hotel it’s a bit old fashioned in style, but nevertheless we had a great ski trip here
The staff is very helpful even though they don't speak english very well. However with hands and some google translate we figured it out
The shuttle service to happo one ski area is good and always on time and they also have a shuttle service to spicy echoland ski rentals which is very convenient! You can even drop of your rental gear at the hotel and the rental shop will pick it up without you having to worry about bringing it back yourself
Since we did not find out the location until the week before email, we were too late to find any hire car available for the week. Relying on taxi's and Ubers was difficult as they are few and far between in Hakuba
Location wise, you need a car in hakuba to move around anyway so the distance to anything is not to concern. Its a 5 min drive to everything. We havent been to hakuba before so we didnt plan for a car rent
Stayed at Reposer Hakuba in Nagano and had a great experience. The staff were friendly, helpful, and very attentive throughout our stay. Breakfast was delicious and a perfect start to the day
Would happily stay here again
Reposer cabin cottage is a winter/summer house. There is a small natural stream right at the back, which is great. The cabin is a bit worn but it still has all it takes to provide a great accommodation
The staff managed all things for us and even give a ride to iwatake. Overall, this is a great choice
Excellent service and onsen that comes with after free flow of wine and sake at designated hours. Room is spacious and clean, csn pick up fresh towel daily. Breakfast is nice and more than what you could eat.
We stayed in one of the exterior rooms with four bunk beds, a comfortable living space, and a bathroom—perfect for our family of four. Everything was clean, and the staff was incredibly welcoming
Great experience staying here for a week. Booked not long ago so price was higher and without meals. Stayed in the special room with private onsen which was fantastic.
Hakuba Ryujin Onsen was our favorite hotel during our two-week trip to Japan. It has a wonderful traditional Japanese feel paired beautifully with modern styling
We especially loved relaxing in the onsen after a long day on the mountain and the complimentary drinks in the afternoon
Amazing hotel, baths, and especially service. Photos don’t nearly do it justice. Would give it a 12/10 if I could
Dinner was very good, very delicious, but you have to rush with the time. Breakfast may be less than dinner but there is a lot. It is a hotel that maintains Japanese culture
I really like the hot springs here. You can soak in the hot springs while enjoying the beautiful scenery. There is also a shuttle bus to the ski resort
The only downside is that there are almost no restaurants and convenience stores around
I will stay here again next time I come to Baima Village!
Good place to stay for snowboarding in hakuba
The hotel's dinner is a buffet, with all-you-can-eat sashimi and sushi, and you can enjoy the snow-capped mountain scenery from the restaurant window. Hotel guests can soak in the open-air hot spring for free
As a traditional Ryokan lover, Hifumi ticks almost all the spots. Onsen, Clean tatami and bedding, Japandi calm and quiet. Breakfast and dinner are add-on charges, and they only serve dinner on weekends during winter
But hey this is Hakuba and you are paying for peace and comfort away from the troves of noisy tourists. House staff are friendly and accommodating and (most) l have a good command of English
Absolutely gorgeous environment and atmosphere with traditional Japanese styled rooms that confer the most relaxing and peaceful experience during our stay
Also worth mentioning that the staff at the entire premise are so attentive and caring that they would ask about our needs on amenities and restaurant options - they even gave us a full catalogue of restaurants nearby when we were wondering what to eat at night
Our room is equipped with private onsen facing the snowy mountains offering another level of unparalleled tranquility and comfort after a long day of skiiing
We stayed in this hotel twice for this trip. The room design is more traditional this time but as comfortable as the previous one. Highly recommended.
Treasure Hotel, the boss couple are very nice, basically meet all the requirements (including ski resort pick-up and early use of hot springs), the hotel layout is very cozy, many small details make people feel very warm, including the freedom to enjoy the massage chair after soaking in the hot springs, and free popsicles
Lovely family run hotel in the wonderful Hakuba. Given this was our first time skiing, we really appreciated how much Monica and the team when above and beyond for us
I had a wonderful stay in Hakuba Yamano Hotel. The hotel owners are very friendly and helpful. My son left his backpack in Shirakawago
She drove us to a place where my sons could play with the snow just beside a river and also she drove us the Happo One ski resort. She also arranged someone to pick us up and sent us back to the hotel
As it was our first time went to a place with snow, we did not know that we had to wear googles to prevent snow blindness. Luckily, they had spare googles and lent them to each of us
There are onsen, washing machines, drying machines, free ice creams and nice massage chairs as well. The hotel rooms are very clean. The staff are very friendly and courteous
Hakuba, 22199 Kamishiro, Kitaazumi District, 399-9211 Hakuba, uezd Kitaadzumi, Prefektura Nagano, Yaponiya 🧭 Map
Parking: Free parking
Lovely hotel. The staff is very good. The breakfast and dinner is quite good. But if you rent a car, it is better to find dinner from other places.
Great location and price
This hotel is in a great location. Breakfast was great, but I would rather eat dinner around the area. There are so many great options to eat out in the area
I stay 4 days ,Best location , Best Reception super helpful,
Only one problem is no toilet in the room !
But we have a great time to stay in there
The service was great, and the room was very clean. Plus, there's a large public hot spring bath on the -1st floor!
The toilet roll is shockingly flimsy and cheap, disintegrating as soon as it comes into contact with anything remotely moist (although this may be common in Japan rather than a hotel specific issue)
The ski storage room has no heat and does not even have heated rods to put ski boots on, so if you return with wet boots then that is what you have to look forward to in the morning
Although there is no scenery, it is still very comfortable to take a bath after skiing. The restaurant and bar are both very nice. I met the owner and had a pleasant half-day, half-English chat with him
wonderful bordering on magical
what a lovely place. the service and staff there is wonderful bordering on magical. this was our first trip to Japan and we were so happy to have chosen hotel traumerie
The historic facility has been modified to the minimum necessary to provide a comfortable space that is suitable for modern times, and the service and consideration were overwhelming
The room is not small for Japan, it is clean and the view outside the window is beautiful. The service is friendly and there is a semi-open-air private hot spring
Amazing dinner by a chef from France, funky steward, awesome owner who knows wine. Will definitely return for the food and the vibe of this place.
The owner also treated me to many drinks. The only downside is that there is no elevator, which makes it a little troublesome to move luggage
They also offer free parking and ski equipment rental, which was both good quality and reasonably priced. If I ever visit Hakuba again, I'd definitely choose this hotel
The hotel staff were incredibly friendly. There's a self-service UCC coffee machine in the lobby with free refills. The breakfast spread was excellent, and the large windows offered fantastic views of the snowy landscape
Our room was fully equipped for cooking, with a stove, sink, microwave, fridge, and kettle – everything you need to prepare your own dinner if you're on vacation
Staff for hotel and rental place were very helpful - however it may be more difficult for those who do not speak Japanese. The buffet is better than higher end hotels- would go back just for the food
Very nice place to stay!
We stayed here for 4 nights during our snow trip. Kettle and microwave available in the room. Provide free brekkie during your stay
The photo below is the view from our window, and while it is cloudy, there’s a massive building and half a roof blocking our view. This means that not every room is mountain view, so book carefully
Good location, very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Rooms clean but not where you'd want to spend a great deal of time. Bathrooms very small but shower pressure and hot water wonderful
Very nice modern and minimalist hotel in the centre of Happo, a short walk from the bus terminal and the gondola. Good strong hot showers and excellent drying lockers for your snow gear
We enjoyed ourselves at the Happo and realised now that we didn’t snap any photos inside or outside of the hotel! I guess we were just on holiday mode relaxing and not caring about photo taking!
I believe it will be a lively place with bands and activities once skiing begins, and I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for first-class service during the winter months
We really loved our stay at the Happo. We stayed for 13 nights and enjoyed the convenience of the location and the shuttle bus to various ski fields
We would have liked the sheets changed more frequently than every 4 days given the number of nights we stayed and the cost as well as a deeper clean of the room (we are by no means dirty)
I wholeheartedly commend the dedication, making this hotel a standout choice for anyone seeking a delightful and stress-free stay
its nice place reasonable plice
The room did not have a small lamp you either have the full light of the room on or you stay in the dark. We did not use the parking area but I would believe is free
This youth hostel is run by *********. The atmosphere is very good, but the service staff told me the wrong direction to Hakuba Jr Bus Station, which made me wait for 35 more minutes in the heavy snow.
Convenient location! Was easy enough to get around!
They also have a laundry room where soap and dry sheets are available to be used for free. The only down size for me was the internet in my room was on and off making very difficult to use it
