Reviews
The manager Tony and team have done an exceptional job making the environment a true home away from home.
The rooms are traditional Japanese style with Tatami mat flooring and we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of both wardrobe and storage space which meant we could completely unpack and make the room our own for the 3 weeks. Also the upstairs Onsen is an absolute must after a big day on the snow!
As others have mentioned, the location for access to snow resort buses, restaurants, and Lawson is incredible. Everything is at maximum a 10 minute walk away.
The absolute stand out for us is the downstairs bar and lounge space which Tony, the staff, and other guests, frequent throughout the day. We lost count of the number of people we met and conversations we had down there and we found ourselves spending most nights, either before or after dinner, chatting away with a cold Sapporo in hand.
We'll miss Berg Land but it definitely won't be the last time we stay there! We encourage all others to do the same and enjoy a truly special Japanese alps experience
During my recent stay at Berg-Land Hotel in Hakuba, Japan, I was thoroughly impressed by the level of hospitality and service provided by the staff. From the moment I arrived, I encountered a friendly atmosphere that immediately made me feel welcome. A special mention must go to Tony, the manager, who went above and beyond to assist me with a luggage mishap. My snow gear was delayed, and Tony kindly offered to lend me some gear in the meantime, a gesture that truly exemplified the exceptional customer service ethos of the hotel.
The Berg-Land Hotel offers a unique blend of hostel-like social engagement with the privacy and comfort of hotel accommodations, making it an ideal choice for travelers looking to meet new people without sacrificing comfort. The communal spaces are designed to encourage interaction among guests, contributing to a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere.

Whether you're a solo traveler or visiting with friends or family, Berg-Land Hotel provides a perfect base to explore the beautiful surroundings of Hakuba, with the added assurance of a warm, friendly, and accommodating team ready to enhance your stay. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a comfortable and sociable accommodation option in Hakuba.
Receptionist, the cook and workers here are so sweet and helpful. Helped us call taxi and recommend bus route if needed.
We stayed here for 4 nights with breakfast and dinner. Dinner is traditional and pretty unique Japanese meal. Breakfast has a mix of Japanese and western.
Laundry: 100 yen for wash, 100 yen for 30mins dryer.
I’ll definitely stay here again when I come back to Hakuba! Thanks for hosting!
