The location is great for access to the Sakka ski lift. Unfortunately we found the place is very run down. It felt more like a hostel. There was hair in the bath and a used toilet roll on our arrival to the room which showed me they don’t do thorough room cleans. Excellent and cozy hotel. However, the receptionist's service was a bit gruff, and my room was dirty. There were a lot of cookie crumbs under the beds, a lot of hair, and almost 20 ladybugs in the room, especially behind the curtains. The hotel offers fridge rental service, and during ski season, there's a free shuttle bus to major ski resorts, making transportation quite convenient. There are three restaurants to choose from within the hotel, but unfortunately, one was under renovation this time. Although it's a bit far out, it's easy to find if you're driving, and they offer a shuttle service. Don't expect too much from the breakfast and dinner, as they're pretty standard. However, there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. The on-site public bath is fantastic for soaking in after a day of skiing!

Good place to stay for snowboarding in hakuba

Room is quite old but clean. There were dinner and breakfast dinner included which were authentic japanese food. We love spending time here. The view was so stunning.

Dinner was very good, very delicious, but you have to rush with the time. Breakfast may be less than dinner but there is a lot. It is a hotel that maintains Japanese culture. The ingredients are local. It is not luxurious but warm.

There is a shuttle service. I really like the hot springs here. You can soak in the hot springs while enjoying the beautiful scenery. There is also a shuttle bus to the ski resort. The only downside is that there are almost no restaurants and convenience stores around. But there is a microwave.

Public bath broke down - hot water not hire enough .  This is winter . In the room , the hot water from the tap water is not hot enough . It takes a long time for the water to become hot .  Room is very cold

The view is very beautiful. You can see the snowy mountains in Panorama from the hotel. The onsen is very good. It helps to relax after skiing. The room is clean but the design is quite old. And there are few amenities. Overall, it is a suitable place to stay for those who want to experience the nature of Hakuba. There is a lot of parking.

The interior of the B&B smells of cypress, and the B&B is well maintained. The Japanese-style breakfast is delicious with Western food. You can still hear the collision sound next door, but some hotels can also hear the sound from next door, which is acceptable to us.

It is very convenient to go skiing, and the surrounding area is convenient for eating.

This youth hostel is run by *********. The atmosphere is very good, but the service staff told me the wrong direction to Hakuba Jr Bus Station, which made me wait for 35 more minutes in the heavy snow.

We had a room w/out bathrooms so we used the common bathroom and it was very clean and organized, they provided you with towels, shampoo, conditioners and soap like any hotel bathroom would. Meteor Garden is located conveniently 5-7min drive from main Hakuba Village. One thing to note is that the main cafe in the stay is not open so need to find other dining alternatives. The walk to the lift station is a few hundred yards uphill and can be challenging in snow and ice. There is no housekeeping, let alone daily, again as claimed on some websites. The hotel has its own lift to get you on the hill that also has the Plaza ski lift on it. Food; breakfast is a smorgasbord, with no heating trays, so everything is cold! Love the rooms. They are so clean and the bed is comfortable! There is an onsen nearby (about 8 minutes walk) and the hotel staff was so kind to direct us there and give us the coupons for it. Had the most wonderful stay at Wagaya with my family! The house was spacious, impeccably clean, comfortable, and conveniently located just a 3 minute drive from our ski resort. Special mention to the heated floor - it felt AMAZING after a long day skiing in the cold.

Located in a tranquil yet central area of Hakuba, Wagaya was a great place to stay for our group of 4. The fully equipped kitchen was perfect for meal preparation and daily Apres-Ski. The drying room was also a very nice touch which is not that commonly found in other types of winter accommodations and was such a wonderful quality of life improvement when it came to hanging and drying our snow gear...

We stayed as a group of 6 for a ski holiday recently. The HHG group were very prompt with their communications. The house was beautifully appointed and warm. It was peaceful and the location was close to town. Every one loved the house and the morning views from the windows are breathtaking.

The rooms were spacious and connected, and the hotel was surrounded by autumn leaves and greenery, creating a lovely atmosphere when looking out the window. The parking lot was likely to be full, so a staff member offered to take us to a nearby tourist spot.

Our requests were all carefully accommodated, and our stay was pleasant. The breakfast was delicious and had a unique menu that you won't find anywhere else. I also had a great time talking with the owner, and I hope to visit again after the East Wing is renovated.

The hotel was built in an older era, so the facilities are not comparable to those of newer hotels. However, the sanitation condition is okay, the service is full marks, and the overall stay experience is still very good.

The Shadian building is full of European style. Upon arrival, a hotel attendant will introduce in detail the services provided by the hotel, and provide hot tea and snacks, which is full of ritual and warmth. My stay at the hotel was very pleasant. It was quiet and relaxing. It was the non-peak period and there were not many travelers, I felt like an exclusive guest. I learned that the town really comes alive in mid Dec when the winter ski season begin, and it seems to be a very vibrant place during that time. The room was great though the basin being placed right beside the bed was a bit inconvenient...

Second time here. Good location, very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Rooms clean but not where you'd want to spend a great deal of time. Bathrooms very small but shower pressure and hot water wonderful. Wifi free but flaky.

Absolutely loved our stay at Pension Tomato. The hosts are so lovely, thoughtful and helpful, even down to details like printing off the free ski shuttle bus schedule etc. It’s a cosy place to stay and we loveeedddddd the private Onsens! Location was ideal being only a few mins walk from snowboard rental places and plenty of bars and restaurants near by. Would definately stay here again and recommend...

Lovely cozy stay. Great proximity to the ski hills. The private onsens were so relaxing after a big day on the hill. The host couple were also so warm and welcoming.

Fantastic location near Echoland’s bars and restaurants. The owners are wonderfully helpful, providing a clean and warm base for skiing Hakuba Valley. Conveniently close to the free shuttle, and the two onsens are perfect for post-ski recovery.

Located in Echoland - just down the road from ‘Spicy’ the rental shop that has the Hakuba Valley buses you catch to each of the ski resorts. Honestly great location - bus stop and small restaurants and bars nearby. Ideal nightlife with a karaoke bar, club 902, and the secret speak easy of the cigarette vending machine bar. Hosts are a lovely couple who were very accommodating and gave us a great tour...

The hosts at Pension Tomato are absolutely amazing, the rooms were great with our own little onsen bath that we could open the windows up. After every ski session the whole family would use it. On top of that they have 2 onsen baths down stairs that were amazing. Will be back next year.

What a beautiful inn. We were so looked after by both of our hosts who were very helpful, friendly and accommodating. For a couple spending their time of the slopes a warm room and onsen made our trip. We had split beds which wasn't ideal, but man we both slept well. Fresh towels daily and a share bathroom as well as help with ski hire and booking reservations. I can't wait to go back.
