If it weren’t for the hotel’s location directly across from the hospital where I’m having my surgery, I wouldn’t have chosen to stay here. The room is very small, and everything feels quite standard.
Overall, there haven’t been any major issues with my stay. However, compared with the other hotels I stayed at during my birthday trip, the experience has been rather underwhelming. Many of the other hotels upgraded my room, gave me a small gift, left a birthday card, or simply had the staff greet me with birthday wishes. This hotel didn’t do any of those things.
I understand that none of these gestures are expected or required, but they do make a difference to the overall guest experience. For that reason, I don’t think I would choose to stay here again unless I needed the convenience of being so close to the hospital.

The pillows are probably the best in the prefecture. Seriously. Not flat, small and disappointing, but floofy and a bit firm. And you don't get one, but two, and one is slightly less full than the other. The beds are firm, the bathroom is spacious and the free coffee and croissants after 0830 are a bonus. We had the deluxe family suite (401 and 301) across the 7 of us and it's probably the biggest hotel we've enjoyed. Would definitely recommend.

A luxurious room, very spacious by Japanese standards, with a huge bathroom and shower. Everything we needed was included: four sets of towels, kimono pajamas, a kettle, refrigerator, coffee and tea making facilities, shower accessories, and a hairdryer. It was very comfortable to sleep in, and quiet at night. Luggage can be stored before check-in. Of all the hotels we stayed at on this trip, this was the best. The photos in the room description are accurate.

Very nice and clean, spacious rooms. Quiet area, convenient to train and walkable to lots of restaurants and bars. Would recommend!

Great location, close to the subway. The hotel didn't seem old and as usual, like anywhere in Japan, the service was excellent. The staff were prompt in responding to any requests that we threw at them.

Water wasn’t getting hot in the morning but worked well at night. They fixed the issue. I had a comfortable stay. Good hotel

Very nice. The room has four beds, a microwave, a washing machine, a balcony, a table, and a sofa, suitable for family trips, especially for families with children. The front desk service is excellent; they speak English. There's a Lawson and a 7-Eleven nearby, and it's 600 meters from the subway station. It's 2.5 kilometers by taxi to Shijo.

Great location. Helpful and friendly staff. Sole issues with cleanliness in the room (under bed and on airconditioning). Noisy old airconditioning which was directly above our bed and made us sick.

The hotel is centrally located in Kyoto, but you have to walk to the subway or other attractions. We enjoyed our stay and slept well. The staff was friendly.
