Staying at this ryokan was a truly unique and unforgettable experience: absolutely recommended!
There was a bit of a language barrier, but the staff were incredibly kind, professional, and went above and beyond to meet all our requests. We had asked for a vegetarian and a vegan meal, and everything was just perfect! Both the dinner served in our room and the breakfast the next morning.
The private onsen was also an amazing experience, and the room itself was fantastic. I recommend checking in as early as possible to have time to enjoy the tea and settle in peacefully.
The only small thing that could be improved is that it would have been nice to receive more explanations about the dishes and the customs to follow. However, I understand the language can be a limitation, and perhaps they usually explain more when there are no special meal requests.
Overall, a wonderful experience that I would absolutely recommend!

An amazing place if you want a traditional Japanese experience. The staff was very accommodating for the members of our group who had food allergies, and few of them spoke English, which was plus, but learning some Japanese will benefit you greatly.

The surrounding location is also beautiful and it has easy access to the bamboo forest and monkey park

Needed to experience a traditional Japanese inn and this was my First time and it was the highlight of my trip. I’m so used being independent living in US that experiencing being served was so embarrassing at first but this is Japanese hospitality so I advise to fully embrace it. We paid 300+ (2 person) which is a splurge but the service, food and amenities and location made it all worth it. Even putting out and keeping back your shoes were done by the staff. Our room attendant was so nice and modest. Shout out to Fuko san. She is really hardworking and ensuring we were taken care of. The dinner course was fantastic and they did follow my dietary preference. It was my fault that I forgot to mention that I dislike raw fish but the chef made up and served me sushi instead. The private onsen (additional payment) was magical. It was open air and overlooked the river. It was so cold but the hot water made it comfortable bathing in open air. The room was very comfortable and clean and i really loved traditional Japanese rooms in general (tatami mats and sleeping in futon). Can’t beat the location, central and just by the historic bridge. I think i gained few pounds from non stop eating. They even provided tea and onigiri as midnight snacks and the breakfast was also scrumptious
My only complain was the bidet was not functioning adequately. The wand would not retract completely. Otherwise, I will definitely stay in this ryokan again in the future

Felt like royalty staying here. The staff were so friendly, the location is in my favorite part of Kyoto, the food was unbelievable with all the different multi-course meals they serve. I really want to come back again in the future.

11/10 service. slight language barrier but no problem communicating and enjoying our experience. Multiple course dinner was delicious and a work of art- be adventurous and open minded! Rooms tidy and as described, onsens were perfect. View on the river and touristy sites within walking distance. Very worth the price.

Although the room is a bit old, it is generally OK, and the Kaiseki cuisine is OK, but the hot spring is a bit small, and there are too many mosquitoes and insects to enjoy it peacefully, which is a bit disappointing.

Fantastic Onsen in the heart of Arashiyamana. Across the bridge so a bit quieter than the Main Street, wonderful and plentiful meals and service.

The hotel is located right next to the Togetsukyo Bridge, with unique conditions. Check in in the evening, you will be introduced to the hotel. Dinner is in the room to experience the special Kaiseki cuisine, but drinks are not included. We ordered sake and beer, full of ritual sense. The hotel facilities are relatively old, and I feel I have to be careful when walking up the stairs. Because it is the cherry blossom season, the price is relatively high, but it is still good to experience it

A trip to Arashiyama with my elderly mother during the spring cherry blossom season.

It had been a while since I had stayed at a traditional inn.

We stayed here for one night.

It had a hot spring, a good location, and included dinner and breakfast.

The food was delicious.

- Bamboo shoot rice and firefly squid tempura for dinner...

The portions were large, but it was a pain to finish it all at the end, which was disappointing, even though it was delicious.

- The breakfast was perfect in both quantity and quality.

The facilities:

- The guest rooms are old, but well kept.

- The open-air bath on the top floor was pleasant. I think the open-air bath needs to be cleaned and maintained a little better.

The inn's staff are close to each other, so you can get a glimpse of how well they work. I hope that the inn will continue to be an easy place to work for both the staff who have been contributing for many years and the new staff.

It was an inn that I would like to stay at again.
(Next time, I might skip lunch just to have dinner.)
Thank you very much for this opportunity.

The service and location were excellent.
The only drawback is that the facilities are a little old.
It was a great trip and I had some great memories.
