Near the public transportation stops. Clean, quite and safe 👍.
The person who stayed in the hotel told me the room was quite nice. the staff helps him to check-in without wasting anytime.
Decent hotel for business travelers. Clean and decent stay
This hotel is conveniently located with easy access to transportation. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the staff are warm and attentive, making for a comfortable and pleasant stay. The breakfast offers a wide variety of choices and is of good quality, providing excellent value for money. The overall environment is quiet and ideal for relaxation. I would definitely choose to stay here again next time...
I've stayed at Livemax many times in Japan, but this one felt the worst. As soon as I entered the room, there was a strong smell of smoke, the carpet was extremely dirty, the room was tiny, and the sheets felt itchy, making it impossible to sleep at night. I strongly do not recommend it.
Very good, the front desk staff spoke English, were patient and polite, and it was clean and comfortable.

Good authentic experience of leaving in ordinary Japanese room, not very luxury but still nice. Location is amazing to visit every seesight you need, metro and bus stations are close and Gion is even closer. Ladies are very hospitable. Recommend this option.
Everything is good, it feels like Japanese style. But you should know. You have to check in by 23:00. And it is a shared bathroom and shower room!
Very interesting place to stay, but the room was cold, the staff was unfriendly, a woman came into the room without knocking when I was in my underwear and asked me to check out at 7am in a very unfriendly manner. I do not recommend
The room is in Japanese style. The futon is thick and comfortable. The hostesses are very hospitable. Every evening when I returned, a thermo pot with hot water was waiting for me so that I could make myself some tea. And a lit lamp. It touched me. The toilet and bathroom are shared. There is a Western-style toilet and a traditional-style toilet. There are many cafes and shops nearby. It is nice to...
My daughter and I stayed for one night. The host is kind and picky. It is a good place to stay for travelers because it is close to Kiyomizu, the station, and there are many restaurants nearby.
A great Japanese-style B&B experience. Although the equipment is not very new, the overall feeling is very clean. It feels like there is ingenuity in life and the decoration is very warm. In addition, the location is also very good, not far from the bus station and subway.

Budget friendly homestay. Please note that there's will be tax before check in. It's Kyoto city accommodation tax. 200¥ per night per pax. Overall we very satisfied with our stay. Worth the price. There's 7 Eleven 1-2 minutes walking distance. There's bus stop 5 minutes walking distance. Nearest subway entrance 8-10 minutes. They provide hanger but not enough hanging spot. You can wash your clothes...
The room was clean, spacious for 2 people, well equipped with basic necessities for a short stay. There is a convenience store nearby, and the bus and train stations weren't too far away either.
We stayed at a discount! It was nice to be clean.
We booked again, different room. This one was better than the last. No complaints besides a noisy heater unit(not noisy on low)
A nice airbnb. Very modern and located very good inside Kyōto.
The room for two is great, I can open my 28” suitcase. This is very rare in Japan. Also, it’s very quite. I had a good time there.

Small cosy guesthouse, only 2 rooms so very quiet. Kinkakuji of course only 2 min away, perfect to be the first visitor. Bus stops nearby bring you anywhere you want. Convenience store next door is suitable for breakfast but for lunch and dinner the owner's restaurant is much better, the lamb barbecue is excellent. One unfortunate observation: the house is poorly insulated, in winter the air conditioner...
It's the best place I've stayed in all of Japan. They have two rooms, and I stayed in the larger one, which has two single beds. Everything was super comfortable and I highly recommend it. The family who runs it is incredibly nice.
The lady boss is very patient and enthusiastic. She must be an interesting soul.
Really great! It was so good. The host is really caring and attentive. She gives advice on places to visit. She is also concerned about the good health of her guests. She is kind and friendly. If you have a little time, take a trip to her restaurant!
Clean and comfortable The boss is hospitable and you can use your own coffee in the morning Japanese style cottage with only 2 rooms Located opposite the Golden Pavilion Temple, about a hundred meters walk

This was my first time staying at an old Japanese-style house, and the location, atmosphere, and interior design were all perfect! It was especially great that there was a convenience store right next door, so I could quickly replenish any supplies I needed. I'd definitely like to stay here again!
We stayed in a traditional Japanese house. The space was very spacious, perfect for a relaxing stay with family. While retaining its traditional atmosphere, it was clean and comfortable, making for a very pleasant stay. The staff were wonderful, kind, and attentive, and we are grateful for their service. Furthermore, its location is very convenient, being close to Omiya Station for sightseeing and...
We had a fantastic ryokan experience. I highly recommend it!
Even though it was raining when we arrived, a staff member was waiting outside to greet us. The building retains the charm of a traditional Japanese townhouse, with Wi-Fi available, and the bathrooms and toilets (there's one on the second floor) were new and clean. If the roads are clear, a taxi ride from Kyoto Station costs about 1,000 yen. It's also just a few minutes' walk straight from Shijo-Omiya...

This was such wonderful surprise. We booked specifically for the ryokan and it didn’t disappoint. The room was huge, the biggest room we had experienced in Japan and it had a fantastic view of the Kamo River and the stepping stones. There wasn’t a lot of English spoken but they gave us excellent printed instructions and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. We loved this hotel and it gave us a...
Very authentic location. Rooms have only toilets and sinks. For shower you need to go downstairs to the communal bath
The room was actually quite large compared to other hotels. It was located near the back, making it quite quiet. It's right by the Torii River, filled with birdsong and flowers, and bustling with people jogging and walking. There's a public bath available. The breakfast was excellent, with customizable set menus, each with a different setting, giving it the feel of a fine-dining restaurant. The subway...
Satisfactory service, clean facilities
The room is relatively small, but basically meets the needs. The location is very good and public transportation is very convenient
Just look for hot springs. Although it seems to be a bit different from the hot spring experience I expected, it just feels like soaking in a hot pool. 1,400 is definitely expensive in China, but in Japan, I’m not sure. I haven’t tried anything else. There are only hot springs and no other facilities (sauna and the like). Compared to business hotels, the room is still big enough (I may be used to PUA...

I went there for lunch. It was a fine day, and the location was great. I was able to enjoy a relaxing meal in a calm atmosphere. All the dishes were seasoned to bring out the flavor of the ingredients, and the meat was tender and filling. It was a great menu that made me feel like it was autumn. I would definitely come back.
This was the last night of my trip to Lake Biwa with my high school classmates. If you call the hotel before taking the train or after arriving at Karasaki Station, there's a shuttle bus service (check the website for schedules). Very spacious! <10 minute walk to Kyoto station. The two beds fit 4 people easily, and separated by door there’s 2 tatamis to lay out. If you sleep on your back they are comfortable! Good location as it's next to a big AEON mall and a lot of vending machines is all around the corner you can find it literally anywhere. Traveling as a family of five, we found the stay quite comfortable and clean. While it's a bit of a distance from Kyoto Station, the staff member was incredibly friendly and polite. They provided tableware, which made buying groceries and cooking super convenient, really meeting our needs.
The hotel's proximity to Kyoto Station is a huge plus, and having an Aeon Mall and Daiso right next door was incredibly convenient. I also appreciated the 24-hour front desk service. Nice and quiet environment, friendly staff and affordable price, need sometimes to locate as it is not beside the main street. There are convenience store and eating place surround within walking distance. I will recommend to those didn't need luxury stay for their trip.
The room environment was big and clear, the service was great and the transportation was convenient near by Gojo subway with exit 3. Only one thing which could improve was the dirty water heater. But I think they change the clear one if you tell them. To sum up, I will stay here again if I go to Kyoto.

Perfect, traditional Ryokan. Location was amazing, close to everything but still so peaceful and quiet. Hosts were incredibly kind and helpful, making great suggestions and recommendations, as well as the prettiest breakfasts I’ve ever eaten. If you are looking for a typical western accommodation this is not the place for you but if you want a truly beautiful and authentic experience we highly recommend
Probably the nicest lodging experience we've ever had... The lodging itself is incredibly beautiful and serene, with incredible access to major points-of-interest. The hosts were so kind and generous, and really made our stay exceptional. Can't recommend this place enough!
Probably the best place I’ve stayed. This is such a unique little spot a walk away from cute shops, izakayas, the market, and the river. This old traditional inn has been renovated to feature two beautiful rooms that will surprise you in size. The hosts were thoughtful, very helpful and the breakfast was a great way to start our days. Thank you for having us
A really cool property and really awesome hosts! We had such a good stay at Ishihara and will definitely be coming back. The breakfast was delicious and the room was a really cool mix of traditional and contemporary design. It was very pleasant chatting with the owners after coming back at the end of the day. I have been indebted several times for more than 10 years. A wonderful ryokan in Kyoto. Everything is in traditional Japanese style. It's located next to the train station, making it convenient to travel by train. All Kyoto attractions are easily accessible by bus. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this ryokan to our friends.
Traditional Japanese hotel, suitable for a family of three to five people. The price is not too high for this location. There are high-end hotels nearby with prices of 3,000+.
Service was good and staff was friendly but I think the Cleanliness can be a little better. Distance wise a little farrrr from station though it’s a straight line (mostly) from JR Kyoto Central exit. My husband and I were aimlessly strolling along today when we came upon this sweet Ryokan for lunch! What a lovely experience we had. You ever have an experience on a trip that stands out? Well, staying at Kikokuso was one of them. Me and the wife decided to extend our stay in Kyoto by one day, and had to rush to find a place to stay as the hotel we were staying at didn’t have any further availability. We searched and found this place on a whim, and were unsure of what it would be like. The moment we walked in however, we knew it...
I had the pleasure of staying at Kikokuso last October and I could not recommend it more if you are looking to experience a ryokan. The hosts are so kind and welcoming, it feels like you're returning home every night. You can really tell the owners care for the place. It is well-maintained and there is a quaint little koi pond that the host would love to show you. If you are willing to walk a bit more...
The boss and his wife are very enthusiastic and can communicate in English. The breakfast is very delicious. The koi in the yard are very cute. There is a yellow one, which represents me who doesn't want to go to work.
The room is very beautiful, with a classic Japanese style. The service is also very good, the proprietress's English is constantly improving, not overly enthusiastic to the point of being embarrassing, but able to easily understand your needs. The boss is also friendly and gentle. Although it is a public bath, there are actually only three guests at most, and there is also a landscaped hot spring....
The environment is very good, the atmosphere of the hotel is super good, the owner and the owner's wife are very kind. The bedding and bathroom are very comfortable. It is close to the bus station and Kyoto Station, and the transportation is convenient. It is also a quick walk to Kawaramachi. If you travel to Kyoto alone, please be sure to come to this hotel to experience it.
