Kyoto, 8-33 Sujyaku Uchihata-cho, Shimogyo-ku (60 min from centre) 🧭 Map
We stayed here as a couple. We were surprised at how quiet it was at night, considering it's only one stop from Kyoto Station. That said, there are restaurants and convenience stores nearby, so I think it's a convenient location where you won't have any trouble during your stay. It's a quaint old house, and while it does show its age, it was well-kept and we had a comfortable stay. The air conditioning...
A Truly Authentic Kyoto Experience Staying in this over 80-year-old traditional Japanese house was an unforgettable experience. The interior design and decoration were incredibly detailed, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Japan. Every corner of the house told a story, allowing us to immerse ourselves in true Japanese living. The host was a lovely and gracious lady who went above and beyond...
We booked the townhouse for three people and it was way better than we expected. The house is very clean and has multiple air cons to keep you cool even during summer. The reception was very nice and provides great recommendations for the surrounding area. The townhouse is also next to a train station which itself is 1 station away from kyoto main station.
When I booked this hotel, there were no reviews or room photos, only a photo of a small courtyard. I decided to book it because the atmosphere was the Japanese courtyard I liked. But when I actually arrived, I found that it was completely different from what I imagined. It was actually an old house I lived in. It was very old and had two floors. The courtyard was very small and could be ignored. This...
If I could give 10 stars this would be that review! What a beautiful experience this was for my family. This location is quiet, restful, peaceful. If you want an experience that takes you back in time but has all the modern amenities I highly suggest this rental. The bath is huge and so relaxing and the private garden allows you to just sit and ponder the stars.
I absolutely loved staying at this place. An old fashioned Japanese experience close to the station. The place was charming With the little zen garden and traditional Japanese bathtub. I personally cant handle futons but the experience was great. Grab your food and Sake and stay in for dinner. The place is well equipped with all modcons and everything you need so you can really enjoy the experience...

The accommodation was so beautiful and spacious that it was a great place to stay for two nights and three days. The first floor had tatami mats, and once I stepped in, I almost couldn't get out.
In September 2024, my family stayed for 4 days at Enishi Tofukuji during our trip to Kyoto. I was really satisfied because the house was very convenient, with a kitchen, a beautiful living room, spacious bedrooms, and all the necessary equipment for easy use.
Excellent accommodation for your stay in Kyoto. The atmosphere is perfect, the apartment is comfortable and well-equipped, and the owner is very friendly. It's also close to the train station, making it easy to get around. The best accommodation I've had so far in Kyoto. I highly recommend it! Note: Some spaces (especially the bathroom) are cramped, the traditional Japanese size. I'm 6'1" (182 cm...
The Japanese-style building had a great atmosphere, and the stay was very comfortable. Importantly, it's very close to both subway and bus stations. The bathroom was small, but it had a bathtub for soaking.
Happy experience living in a japanese authentic house..

Nice little Inn. Good value for the money. But not a hotel type of place. Make sure you bring cash at check in because the city tax is only payable by cash! Small and tied but good for what we needed. Typical Japanese which means that you will sleep in mat and suitcases /bags can not be on the mat which is the more spacious area. The area where you store baggage in your room is VERY tight. There is...
The room was spacious. It's close to tourist spots, so transportation is convenient.
Comfortable stay. Close ti many places. If you just want to be left alone, and dont need any frills, this is a great place for you. The innkeeper was very helpful and courteous. The entryway kind of took us aback at first. Its like youre walking into someone's house. But had a great experience.
The owner is very welcoming, the accommodation is very good, and he took commemorative photos for us. There is no time limit for staying in the hotel. Please note that the check-in time must be before 9 pm. If I have the opportunity to come to Kyoto again, I will choose this hotel again👍
They give you a picture and the rooms are clean. The reception area is very messy and really messy s bit a lobby. The staff is friendly. The elevator is very small. It’s a bit loud as all rooms are facing the street. It’s somewhat convenient as it’s 10 mins walk to Kyoto station. Not a lot of places to eat around it.
A bit of a walk from the station, but it was nice to stay in a japanese style room in Kyoto. Space to open luggage is a bit limited since we had 6 large luggage, but overall enjoyed the stay. Rooms were cleaned everyday day and amenities resupplied. Host was super friendly and helpful even though I couldn't communicate well in Japanese.

This Best Delight Group hotel is located in Otsu City. It's a super-hot area with three hotels from the group. This time, I stayed in Room 203. There was ample space and a water server. The sink and toilet seat were in the same space, but the bathtub was separate. Because the bathtub was broken (it wouldn't fill with hot water), I received a 10% discount. It seems there were several other rooms with...
Thank you for letting me stay multiple nights. I stayed here for multiple nights. It feels a little old, but it was a very comfortable stay! The staff were also kind and welcoming, so I felt at ease!
When I order food, I wish they would stop handing it to me. I wish they would bring it to me at the door or inside. Please fix the water and shower faucet. And the jacuzzi too. The service is good, but I wish they would fix that one thing.
I thought the staff were very helpful. I had a very pleasant stay. Thank you for your help.
A right laugh The complemtary bath salt was a nice touch and the snacks. We had alot of fun and alot of laughs here.
I climbed the nearby rock climbing gym until 10:30 PM, and when I couldn't get an Uber and was about to miss the last bus, I asked the restaurant owner for help. Thanks to her, I finally managed to hail a taxi back to the station. That was amazing!

The price is reasonable, so it's okay. The staff was friendly, which was nice.
The location is good and close to Kyoto Station. I don't feel like using the reusable soap in the bathroom and bathtub, so I wish they would change it to a pump-type soap. The tatami room is relaxing.
The Japanese-style room is about 6 tatami mats in size and has complete facilities. It is close to Kyoto Station and convenient for travel.
Close to Kyoto Station, very convenient. Everything you need is in your room. Their prices are reasonable and they are very helpful. Although the time is limited, we were able to store our luggage before check-in, which was very helpful. I had a hard time finding an empty coin locker at Kyoto Station. We recommend that you be aware that you will not be able to leave your luggage after check-out.
Overall very average, not worth it
A very nice little place where you can enjoy traditional way of sleeping(futon bed, if I'm not wrong). Convenient stores are surrounded by and is very the Kyoto station, making it so comfortable travelling around.

Superb hotel. Mostly felt like a fusion between a Japanese household crossed with a hotel room. Extremely clean rooms and you can also cook inside. The host is really kind and he speaks good English too. Loved this place and will defs come back!
Stayed over New Year's and checked in by uploading our passports online as reception was unstaffed - the host sent many instructions, so it was quite simple. The hotel's overall design is very comfortable. The separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom are great, and there's a generous supply of towels. Very clean and well-designed structure, very nice and clean rooms, kind and accommodating staff, strategic neighborhood in a not too touristy area but close to the station.
We were here for 6 nights, a very convenient location. 10 minutes to Life Supermarket where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Very nice hotel, quiet, good front desk
The simple kitchen is equipped with a microwave, induction cooker, pots and pans. The only drawback is that no dishes are provided, so you have to prepare your own disposable dishes. The room, Seiran, overlooked a Japanese garden, creating a wonderful atmosphere. Those who appreciate traditional Japanese houses will find this a truly satisfying experience. Breakfast, enjoyed amidst the beautiful garden views, was a perfect way to start the day. The hostess was incredibly kind and attentive; I'll definitely bring friends back next time.
The small town of Otsu is a place I really love. It's quiet, not crowded with tourists, and right next to Lake Biwa. The tea room in the common area is beautiful, with a small garden, and the public bathroom is very clean. The only downside is that the all-wooden townhouses have almost no sound insulation, so I wouldn't recommend it for those who have trouble sleeping.

Clean, friendly, comfort and convenient location!
This is a Japanese-style B&B with a great atmosphere. It is said that it was a granary a hundred years ago and was later converted into a B&B. The floor makes a creaking sound when you step on it. I had a fantasy in my mind about whether the black coal balls described by Hayao Miyazaki would appear in the same way. I walked around barefoot, without a speck of dust. Very clean and tidy
The homestay has done a great job in every detail. There are two places that left a particularly deep impression on me. The first picture is a hot water bottle stuffed into the bed. In fact, the air conditioner was set to over 20 degrees in advance, which was already very warm. Sometimes, a little bit of excessive service can really touch people's hearts. This is a dormitory-style guesthouse next to Kyoto University, not a youth hostel, which is also its charm in my opinion. Living here requires consideration for others and certain climbing skills. In short, whether the accommodation is good or not depends mainly on the roommate, which is a matter of luck and probability. The store itself has done its best.
Clean and nice hostel in a quiet area. A bit far from the center, but there is a metro station nearby. Also nearby is a supermarket. I liked the room for 4 guests and the spacious common area. Showers and toilets are in good condition.
