Kyoto Rich Hotel in Kyoto

The lobby gives an impression that this hotel is updated and luxurious. The staff are very professional, helpful and friendly. They made my visit enjoyable. The room was outdated, it had a dusty mold smell. The mattress was very old and springs were annoying. The view was amazing, but the bathroom had a cracked lamp cover. The location is good. But if you plan on staying here just be aware that other places might have a better value or more amenities.

Stayed in Rich Hotel, Kyoto, for 3 nights in July this year. Although the hotel is in a good area and close to major attractions in Kyoto but still wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Room was v small for 3 people. Very poor air con
And one of the walls of our room was outside wall which made things worse. Outside temp being 45C. Construction work going on so constant noise.
Very poor WiFi, were told that because the hotel was full so the WiFi didn’t work properly!!

Most of the staff spoke no English. Although a few young staffs tried their best to communicate with help of their phones. And were v pleasant and helpful.

One middle aged gentleman in the reception area who spoke good English but was the most unhelpful person we have come in our whole 3 weeks trip in Japan!
We had a real trouble to transfer our luggage to Tokyo due to this unhelpful gentleman at the reception at that time.

Had a bad experience staying those three nights in this hotel. So would never recommend or go here again.
