Tokyo, 2-6-2 Iriya Taito-ku (6 km from centre) 🧭 Map
This is an amazing Ryokan for so many reasons.
First, the location is well connected to asakusa in particular, and Tokyo in general, due to its proximity to train stations. However, it benefits from being quaint and quiet in the evenings, which I love.
Second, the rooms are lovely, reflective of a traditional ryokan style, but at a price point that is generous.
But third, and most importantly, the...
We really liked this accommodation. It’s a more quiet neighbourhood, which is nice after you’ve spent a day on the busy streets of Tokyo. The rooms, bathrooms and toilets were very clean. I liked that they had self service coffee/tea and snacks. The receptionists were very helpful and kind. Would definitely come back!
Traditional Japanese ryokan vibes 🇯🇵✨
Tatami room with futon, clean and cozy.
Good location near Asakusa with easy train access.
The receptionists were very friendly. Even though their English isn’t very fluent, they really try their best to help and make everything easy to understand.
The room was surprisingly spacious for 3 people…honestly, it could fit 4–5 people comfortably.
Simple, peaceful...
It’s in a great location and we personally loved the chill neighbourhood. It’s really well connected and the staff is very kind. The rooms are clean, cozy and ours had a private bathroom. There is a common bathroom with bath.
For summer vacation in Japan, this hotel is very affordable. It's been around for a while, but the hygiene is excellent. The double room we booked in a Japanese-style room wasn't large, but it was perfectly comfortable. The beds were made up with thick mattresses, making it very comfortable to sleep on. They cleaned the trash cans and changed the towels daily. The room didn't have a private bathroom...
The hotel is a Japanese style room as I want to experience the Japanese culture, its deferent rather hard if you are not use this costume, the room is quite no bathroom but there is a sink, the bath room is separated from the shower that has a hot bathtub very japanese style. Had elevator and the common area is in the reception area they provide snack, coffee, kettle microwave and drinking water despenser...

Tokyo, Koto-ku Morishita 3-20-15 (6 km from centre) 🧭 Map
It is a nice and cosy place. The staff was great.
This hotel offers exceptional value for money, which is rare in Tokyo.
It's located about a 7-minute walk from Kikugawa Station and Morishita Station.
The rooms are about 1.5 times larger than those at the APA Hotel, come with a private bathroom and toilet, and are very clean.
The price is also very reasonable; I stayed for three nights and it was a great deal at around 6,000-6,500 yen per night.

Honestly, after reading the reviews, I was a little worried about what to expect, but in the end, I was pleasantly surprised!
This hotel isn't brand new, but above all, it's very clean, quiet, well-located, and inexpensive! Which is exactly what I look for in a hotel.
The room is quite spacious, and importantly, there's no humidity! (Many hotels remain very humid despite the air conditioning.)
The check-in machine has multiple language options, so even if you don't speak a foreign language, there's no problem at all. The front desk staff is very friendly and greets you every time they see you. There's also free coffee to drink in the morning. The TV is a bit old, but the room is very spacious. Highly recommended
In my case, the front desk staff was extremely polite.
The room was clean and not too old, and about 1.5 times larger than the one at Hotel A◯.
I'm sensitive to smells, but I didn't find anything particularly bothersome in the room, bathroom, or hallways.
There's no breakfast in the morning, but coffee is served.
The following are minor points that bother me.
- Check-in is only possible after...
Nice, basic hotel. You can’t normally check in until 5. The front door is locked and no one is at the desk. However, it was raining like hell when I arrived, and they let me in about 4:45. This was nice service.
Pretty reasonable. I got one night for ¥9000, but that was booking less than 3 days beforehand (on Rakuten). Not bad for Tokyo. No one not on the bill will be allowed in the room, and they...

Tokyo, 2-16-12, Nishiasakusa (6 km from centre) 🧭 Map
ART is wonderful! Excellent accommodations, down to earth vibes, super clean and comfortable. Absolutely perfect location for exploring Asakusa. Tucked away in a quiet corner less than five minutes walk from the main market leading to Senoji Temple. Owners Hattori Hideaki is a kind and generous man. He may seem gruff at first, but soon enough you see his heart of gold. A gem among gems
An Excellent Location for Asakusa Sightseeing
The location is simply the best for exploring Asakusa.
Major tourist sites like Kaminarimon Gate, Senso-ji Temple, and Nakamise-dori street are all just a few minutes' walk away. This convenience was extremely helpful when I wanted to visit the temple during the quiet morning hours or when I was tired from sightseeing and wanted to quickly return to...
I stayed here a couple weeks ago for my first 3 days in Japan. The owner was so kind and welcoming and showed us to our room, how to use the amenities/rules of the house. The place was very clean, neat and tidy. The old school feel of the place made you feel like you were staying with family. The room has air conditioning too which helped reduce the humidity while in the room. The noise did travel...
The best stay we had in Japan!
We stayed in three rooms at this ryokan, and it was by far our favourite accommodation during our whole trip to Japan. Yes, rooms are small — as is the norm in Tokyo — but the value for money here is incredible.
Everything was spotless. You have everything you need, the beds are comfortable, and we slept really well. The staff were super friendly and helpful.
The location...
I stay here every year, it's a great hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms and clean and tidy. They are traditional Japanese style rooms, with a wet-room style shower and Japanese bath (short but deep). The location is very good too, with three stations within a few minutes walk (Asakusa Tsukuba Express line for Tsukuba and Akihabara, Asakusa Tobu Station for Haneda Airport and the...
Stayed 3 nights. Simple small Japanese room, futon on floor with attached bathroom. Old style and no frills but quiet and excellent value for Tokyo. Great position in Asakusa walking distance to metro and lots of inexpensive places to eat. Friendly staff despite minimal English. Stored my bag when I went to Nikko.

We went as a family of four and we couldn't love this place more !
The place really makes you feel the japanese culture, hosted by a very nice family living in the same house, everything was lovely and quaint.
Nothing extraordinary, just simple but comfortable, quiet and traditional. Everything you could look for in going to Japan.
Overall, this was a fairly-priced sharehouse-like stay in a decent location.
The staff were always kind and helpful, and the check-in/check-out process were quick and easy. I saw that guests were allowed to drop off luggage early before check-in, and even to store luggage here after check-out if they were leaving Tokyo later in the day, though I didn't use either of these services myself.
The room...
beautiful cosy ryokan! we booked the room with private toilet and bath, and it was so spacious for us, especially since rooms in japan tend to be small. the room and ryokan was very clean. the owners are very kind and hospitable, everything went smoothly. i am so thankful and would love to stay again if i am back in tokyo!!!! the only thing to note is that the walls are thin so small sounds from next...
The Ryokan is very spacious with lots of character. The bed is incredibly comfy and the duvet was like a hug. In a quiet neighbourhood 15 min walk to the JY line (JR pass compatible). The staff were very friendly.
I stayed here twenty years ago as a teen travelling on my own, and I stayed again this year. The ryokan is simple and charming, but the real gem is its owner, who is as friendly and hospitable now as he was all those years ago. The location is also excellent, opposite a convenience store, within walking distance of Ueno, and just five minutes from a metro station. I can heartily recommend this location...

Great place in a central location. Staff were very nice, and the facilities were clean.
Close to the train station and lots of food options. A bit dated but great great service. They helped us booked our accommodation to Ginzan Onsen. Highly recommended for a short trip to Shinjuku. Quiet neighborhood and you won’t feel unsafe.
For the price, it was a nice hotel that gave me what I needed. Finding parking nearby was a little difficult, but is in the perfect spot for walking around Shinjuku.
All are good. It is cost-effective.
Great location, close to many big cities.
Very calm although it is only a few metres away from Okubo-Dori Av.

Despite the lively area the room was very calm. It was a very nice ryokan experience and we were not missing anything. The staff of the hotel was very welcoming and very friendly
For the price, you get a generous room with heating and private bathroom. The bathroom is unremarkable (small, toilet has no bidet) but at least there is constant hot water. Amenities provided and replaced daily.

I just returned home from a holiday to Japan and I stayed here for 5 nights. The staff, and owner especially, are lovely, friendly, and helpful people. I really enjoyed my stay here.
The rooms are quiet and comfortable. It has good access to Asakusa Station. We had a nice view of Skytree from our room!
I will definitely come stay here again when I travel to Tokyo.
Lovely ryokan in a prime location.
Service is of the highest Japanese hospitality level.
An authentic Japanese ryokan experience, including a fridge, aircon (a savior during hot summer days and nights), hair dryer, tea facilities, toiletries, slippers, robes, and wi-fi. Laundry facilities are available for an extra fee. Very clean and pleasant. Towels are changed every day.

I really liked this place, the price can't be beaten for this location. it's 30 seconds away from Sensoji temple. Yes, 30 seconds. The room was really clean and I always like the smell of tatami. What really made a difference was the owner, Chikako really helped me out with some questions I had, if I would go to Tokyo again, I would like to stay here again.
Impeccably warm and attentive service. I was surprised when I could check in early because the room was available. Big relief when coming tired from the airport! The location is prime. The prices are extremely good value for money. WiFi is fast and seamless to connect to. Rooms can feel a little small even for those of medium height (be warned) but you get used to it quickly. Quiet and very comfortable, modern space for 5 people. Provided what was advertised.
Sakura cross hotel had exceeded our expectations even before we had gotten into our rooms. The staff was very friendly had helpful, and they were kind enough to put our luggage into our room for us. Modern, cleverly designed room. It was a tight squeeze overall (not much room to spread our luggage out) but the beds were large and comfortable and there were three sinks, which worked for our family of four. Perfect for a one or two night stay.
This was an extremely clean and easy to access property for our needs. There was transit nearby and the room was perfect for us. Our stay was a great introduction to Tokyo!
This was a pretty nice hotel / room in. residential area . The lobby super small but your room area is huge . my other hotels and air b and b didn’t even have that much space . the only thing is lacked was a fridge since they had a mini but other then that the accommodation was amazing
I was fortunate to have found a nice place to stay during my trip, despite the fear of a possible earthquake in Japan.
We arrived at the hotel by taxi,
and were surprised. It looked more like a regular home than a hotel. I wondered if I'd made the wrong decision, and then had mixed thoughts about my future plans. Upon entering, I was fortunate to find a small reception area.

The hotel is very close to Shibuya Street, lots of food around and mini markets.
The deciding factor for me was the large public bath! Thank you for your hospitality.
It was my first experience staying in a capsule hotel. I was lucky because the room I was allocated was quiet and tidy. There are 8 capsules in the room. You get a locker space which is the size of a carry-on bag and shoes. The capsule is small, but big enough for changing clothes and organising my stuff. I loved the big bathroom. I came back to the hotel around 3 am, and I could use it just by myself
It's decent. I stayed here for a concert with a group of all women. There's a laundry room downstairs. If you don't mind a bit of noise, it's quite a good deal for the price.
Perfect for a solo trip! They provide yukata, and it's a traditional Japanese bathing experience. The public bath has showers and a soaking tub, which is great. It might be a bit inconvenient during your period, though. Good value for money for a solo traveler.
Loved this cosy place. Perfect location and quiet area. Close to Shibuya key locations. And very, very clean. The stuff cooperated efficiently on-line for all stages of my stay from check in through out. Thank you so much for a quick response and solving the matter of my late arrival. Would recommend this hotel to others.

Very big, pretty, luxurious and clean room. They have all the things you need for the stay. The bathtub and the big screen are perfect. Service is also great. Point to note is that they are a bit distant from metro station and there are no elevators.
It was a very beautiful and stylish space.
Location is near the station. 2 minutes walk to Asakusa line Kuramae station (exit A0) and 7 minutes walk to Oedo line Kuramae station (exit A5).
Super kind & helpful staffs. Small but cozy and I love this place.
Cheap, soggy and nice. Its a step up from the cube hotel. The people that work here are awesome :D
The hotel is like some sleasy 60ies agent movie. Telephones and music radio built into the beds, smoking apparantly allowed indoors (?) and generally weird cheap retro deco. Good air condition.

Room was nice and clean. The location was perfect and close to everything for getting quick essentials. Also, the Indian restaurant across the street has fantastic curry meals.
Very clean, cosy, good facility and great location.
The family enjoyed our 6 nights stay. We Can’t wait to stay again. Thank you🤗
Check in process was easy, rooms were clean, had great amenities. Washing machine was great and easy to use.
Very roomy 4 bed bunk beds with a kitchen area and seperate bathroom. There is no staff on site but the check in process via tablet was simple enough
Only real issue is that there is no elavator and a very narrow staircase if you have big luggage
It met our expectations, was clean, had good utilities, nice balcony, good location, easy check in process. Beds and pillows could have been more comfortable.
If they can add the elevator, it would be better for the customer's with luggages.

The location is remote and inconvenient. The room I booked during the holiday was too expensive and not worth it at all. It was very inconvenient and troublesome to check in without a front desk. Great location, close to Ueno Station, lots of small restaurants in the neighbourhood and still very quiet. The room was super small, but everything was there. The bed is the problem. It would have been ok if we stayed only one night, but we had book 4 nights. On...
I wanted an immersed cultural experience in Japan and booked a room at the hotel for the tatami room. My stay was very pleasant. I liked the location of the hotel as it was about 5 minutes walk from Ueno station and 2 minutes walk from a convenience store (kombini). My family of 4 also appreciated the spaciousness and cleanliness of the tatami room. The room was immaculately clean and maintained daily...
Pretty good. This was the first place I stayed in Tokyo. After arriving I was very hot and sadly the AC was not on at all so the room was extremely hot. Had to turn on the AC and wait an hour for it to finally be a sleep able temperature. They do the luggage storage service which is helpful.
The Japanese tatami inn I stayed in this time made me deeply appreciate the unique charm of Tokyo's quietness in the bustle. The inn is located within a ten-minute walk from the central exit of Ueno Station. After crossing the overpass and the streets intertwined with scattered convenience stores and taverns, a quiet Japanese space comes into view. Surrounding it are the bustling business district...
