Bang for the buck! We extended our stay here for additional two days as the hostel is extremely comfortable, especially for the price. Private room was extremely spacious, washroom clean, steady supply of hot water, and the heating was effective.

The building is nicely renovated and converted to the guest rooms. We booked the doubled bed one with an ensuited bathroom. The room was clean and cozy with a nice view to the mountains. The location is great. It's at a convenient distance to the restaurants, local indoor market and the river trails. Last but not least, The owners are super respectful and helpful.

My stay at Esentai Hostel in Almaty was absolutely fantastic! Nestled along the riverbanks, the atmosphere was serene and inviting. I can say this is one of the best hostel in terms of facilities they have provided. Bed and bathroom was clean. They have free laundry which is really great. Fully functional kitchen where guests can cook. Location of the hostel is cherry on top. Beds were comfortable. Lockers were provided to keep valuables.

I liked the location of the hostel, within walking distance from the center and everything you need to buy can be bought nearby. Very comfortable bed, large locker next to where you can put your backpack. The hostel itself is also very clean. I was also pleased with the hanger and the shelf inside the bed, in addition to the light and the socket. The reception staff look like they don't greet at all...

Great place, good service, easy accomodations

Positive: I liked that this place is in a residential block, not far from shops and Russian consulate. Everything is kept clean and kitchen is ok. Staff will help with anything you need. I stayed for 2 weeks to get my Russian transit visa and do some maintenance on my motorcycle. This place is good if you just need a decent place to stay. Negative: I was in a private room with its own WiFi router...

Positive: good rate for a private room, clean, nice host, good bed, 24hrs supermarket around the corner. Negative: location, initially it was hard to find. Kinda in a darkish location and neighbourhood. This was also felt in the hostel. Not really vibrant. I was there for only 1 night so possibly it can be different but for me as a solo traveller the hostel didnt appeal to me. No AC, only fan.

I stayed here for a week and I loved the place. It has everything what you need and is good distance from metro or city centre. Xenia is a superhelpful person so you will be in good hands. Guests are a nice mix of Kazakhs/Russians and foreigners.

The location is great, convenient, and centrally located. Open 24/7, and the price is dirt cheap! 2,500 tenge per night. Those are the biggest pluses of this hostel. Cons: the bed was hard, the mattress was thin, and my whole body ached in the morning. The nightstand didn't lock; it was crooked and askew. The shower was alternately cold and lukewarm, mostly cold. You couldn't really regulate the water...

Best hostel in reasonable price

Nice clean hostel with kitchen to everyone, we had very clean room with air-conditioning and you tube television, internet connection is fast, it's my recommendation :)

This place is awesome if you're on a budget. I even got a private room that was super cheap. The rooms aren't super warm, but it's totally fine, and the bed was comfy and the room was big. The shared bathrooms are clean and small. If you have a big suitcase, you might struggle with the stairs, but otherwise, it's all good. And yeah, the location is great.

Can't ask more for the price. Check-in was fast and all services were okay, including clean toilets and showers. Slippers, towels and locker were available for no extra price. Only inconvenience was that no pillow cover was provided, and the pillow was looking quite used. Quiet streets around the location.

The room was spacious and clean. Each person had a locker. The room, hallway, bathroom, and living room all had heaters, making them very warm. The kitchen had three refrigerators, a gas stove, and an electric kettle, making it very convenient for cooking. The bathroom and shower were separate and very clean. It was excellent value for money. The hostess was very welcoming, kind, and wonderful.

Kanat its the owner here.. and he is a excellent gide, even he can bring you for some festivals and show the beautiful culture in Astana. Great hostel, actually the best hostel in Kazachstan for us. Very friendly people, nice cold pool for those warm days. They offer cold beers in frozen glasses (what else you want) and tasty shaslik for good prices. Thank you again!

This hostel is great! The kitchen is artfully decorated and large. The shower/bathrooms are clean, no water pile up, modern. The capsules are wide and cozy (but the lights next to bed don’t work, my only complaint). But the people working here take the cake!!! It’s so comfortable experience for me, that only for the live situation , but also the assistant can offer a towel. When I first came there, the kitchen spread the fragrance over the room, and the guest shared their yummy food for me. Then, the snowflakes fell down from the night sky. good, but the owner or some staff aren't really friendly, sometime demanding and a bit racist if you were asians skin. but one staff were kind and attentive. it is probably one of the best for hostel since Almaty has lacked of hostel equipment compare to international standard. no English speaking staff. you can cook .

Hostel 211A offers good sized rooms and a comfortable bed. I liked having a single bed. OK storage space. Staff are friendly but not sure how much English they speak. The proximity to the main road is the only thing that is good about this place. The staff gave very mixed vibes They were friendly and accommodating when we stayed first 2 days, the next 2 days, they behaved weird- as in they were playing with the AC switches, took away our fans and asked out of the blue to pay parking fees. Excellent stay in Almaty! I was surprised by how modern the hostel was and how nice the rooms were. The owner is very friendly and speaks great English. He was very helpful and can answer any questions about Almaty if you are looking for things to do. For a short stay, I really enjoyed the rooms and thought this was a great value!

I stayed at the hostel for a few nights while visiting Almaty. The location is excellent—right in the city center, with a nice café across the street and Dostyk Plaza just a short walk away. The only issue was that the room could get quite hot and stuffy, as there was no ventilation or windows. Other than that, everything was great!

Arrived late at night but was picked up by Daj the admin, very friendly and sociable guy. Check in was smooth and the bed was good. The only problem was the bathroom facilities - were quite dirty. Otherwise, the hostel is in apartment and there is a homie atmosphere in it.

A basic hostel, clean and good beds. Prices seem quite average. The place is cramped though and amount of toilets is too limited.

Everyone was kind and accepted me as a member of the group. I was able to live without any inconveniences. The rooms are separated for boys and girls, so I feel safe. It was a hostel that made me miss Kazakhstan. If I go to Almaty again, I will definitely stay at the same place.

The metal bunk bed had no safety rail, which felt quite dangerous, especially as the room was on the 3rd floor.

I have stayed at various hostels in East Asia and some parts of Southeast Asian countries, and I have to say that this hostel has the worst impression at how unprofessional it is. Yes, staff is friendly and people are generally helpful, but that is a low bar in Asian countries. I was glad that I was allowed early check-in, and amenities were fully provided at the kitchen, value for money and location...

it is located close to main sightseeing places and you can walk to them. it is on the second floor, North American ways, and then you need carry up your heavy bag at the outside stairs because there are no elevator. they pass you washed bed sheets and a towel. I didn't see any cleaning women. maybe the young guy at the reception only keep the hostel tidy, which doesn't seem enough.

A lovely welcoming hostel. Slippers are provided. Beds are very comfortable so you get a good nights rest. Lots of hot water available and a kitchen available to make the essentials. The lounge area has a PS5 too. It’s close to a shopping mall with lots of outlets and a food court. And not too far a walk from the sights.

Unfriendly to Chinese people. The location is okay, but they don't check in or drop off luggage before 2 PM, which is very inconvenient. The bedding is made of synthetic fibers, very thin and pilling. The shared bathroom is small, with only one shower room.

Hello! I stayed in this hostel for 11 days. And all these days were spent in a very good atmosphere. The staff is space: decent, responsive, cultured, and most importantly, they treat visitors with respect. (I don’t want to single out anyone. Everyone is great!) Cheap accommodation but the place is not clean

Cheap and angry, very small rooms, window only in the bedroom. It is cold at night, always stuffy. There is air conditioning, but does not turn on for some reason. We drove in twice, with a break of two nights, either the old underwear was laid, or it wasn’t changed at all. The rest is ok.
