My boyfriend and I just returned from Secrets Playa Mujeres and we have nothing bad to say about this place. It is beautiful with staff that is friendly and welcoming. The resort is peaceful and calm, but the activities and events make the nightlife exciting. During the day, they had activities like hat painting and finger painting lessons which made for a great souvenir to take home. The food is incredible! We did not have a bad meal and there was many options to chose from each night. The rooms were clean and we had no issue contacting housekeeping if we needed. The events at the theater, like the magic show, the African show, and the circus, were fun and exciting! The pools are super clean and not too crowded. During our trip, they had vendors come and sell souvenirs, paintings, etc which was sooo nice. We got a deep tissue couples massage which was amazing, and they offer additionally time in the spa as part of the experience. There was no reason to leave the resort because of how much they had! We will definitely be returning based off our experience here.

Title: Ruined Anniversary: Broken Amenities, Construction & Zero Service
I booked Secrets Playa Mujeres for an anniversary trip, expecting luxury. Instead, I got a 4-day construction zone with non-functional amenities. We paid for a swim-out room but couldn't use it once. Management admitted the heating system was broken due to a recent reopening. It never worked. Even the public hot tubs were brick-cold; watching staff stick thermometers into freezing water while we sat there was a joke.
Our room experience was just as bad. The air-conditioning didn't work, making the room uncomfortable, and the showerhead was broken. After complaining, we were moved only to be woken by loud construction—drilling and banging on concrete right by the Preferred lounge. Despite reporting these issues, no one did anything to fix them.
Worst of all, our anniversary was completely ignored. I saw other doors decorated with “Just Married” or “Happy Birthday” ribbons, but we received zero recognition. It felt incredibly alienating to be overlooked while others were celebrated.
The “All-Inclusive” dining is a myth. They open restaurants based on volume to save money. I could only access 3 out of 9 options because the rest were closed. To top it off, the staff felt biased and unwelcoming. This resort is cutting corners at the guest's expense. Avoid this place if you actually want the experience you paid for. Total waste of money.

This resort was everything we hoped it would. A perfect balance of tropical but not jungle like, modern but not over the top where you don't feel like you're in Mexico. The staff were all wonderful to work with from the time we checked in until checkout. Was it perfect? No! They just reopened after a huge remodel of the resort. The usual opening hiccups but nothing that time won't correct. The brand new Preferred Club building with lounge and bar, a beautiful upstairs restaurant serving breakfast and the most amazing 7 course dinner with amazing view of the ocean, and a new pool area complete with Bali beds, really is a major perk. The restaurants are on rotation currently assuming due to occupancy being lower as they are still renovating some of the areas. Food was good to excellent and again think it will improve more as new staff adjusts. I wish they had a brick oven pizza outdoors like Secrets Maroma. They had the best pizza there! The theater and sports bar areas is a great set up and the shows were great. The silent disco is always fun but they need to have a better variety of music like 80's on one channel, Rock on another and then today's top hits maybe to make it fun for everyone and 3 channels like other resorts do but again I think still learning. Beautiful grounds and walkways. The golf cart wait varied at different times but again I think will improve. Overall, I think SPM is living up to the Secrets standards and will only get better every day and we will be back :)

The room was clean and felt very spacious. Our room had a great location, close to the kids pool. The staff were friendly, asked if I need anything before I even knew I needed something. We met no pushy sales people. The food was good at the buffet and the restaurants. The resort and staff were very family friendly. When our daughter couldn't participate in an activity one of the staff members chased us down and suggested an alternative for her. The kids pool was so warm and sheltered from the wind. The icecream / coffee shop was a favourite. The pool side lounge chairs were often full but we could usually find couple if we walked to another pool. The evening shows were amazing! We had a great trip!!

We stayed here as a family of four and couldn’t be happier with our experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. The team greeting us at the entrance was warm and professional, and check-in and check-out were smooth and stress-free thanks to Rafael, who went out of his way to make everything easy for us.

The service throughout the resort was outstanding. All the restaurant staff were attentive, friendly, and consistently kind, making every meal enjoyable. A special thank you to Diego and Memo from the entertainment team they were incredibly friendly, energetic, and made the atmosphere even more fun.

Poolside service was excellent, rooms were comfortable, and the overall organization and hospitality exceeded our expectations. We were truly satisfied in every aspect of our stay.

We are already planning to come back next year. Highly recommended for families looking for a relaxing and high-quality vacation.

The Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort is okay - not great, not bad - just okay; however, considering its billing as a "AAA Four Diamond" resort, it is overall a disappointment.

The main issue is the resort feels like it has too few amenities - not enough a la carte restaurants, insufficient pool-side and beach seating, and too little staff.

Getting into one of the a la carte restaurants requires lining up 20 minutes before they open to ensure you can secure a table. The resort boasts of 6 a la carte specialty restaurants, but every night at least 1 of them is closed and, on some nights, two may be closed. Fail to secure a table and you are forced to eat at the buffet. The buffet is excellent for breakfast, convenient for lunch, and incredibly disappointing for dinner.

It is the same story if you want a pool-side or beach seating - you need to be prepared to get up early as most have been "reserved" by guests by 8 am (though not occupied until much later). The general sentiment among guests we spoke with was the resort needed 25% more lounge chairs generally and even more around the area for young kids.

The staff - while wonderful - are simply insufficient in number to accommodate all guests. The result is a lack of clean towels, uncleared plates and glasses around the pool and the beach areas, and a lack of bar and restaurant staff. The staff are hardworking and delightful - there is just not enough of them.

Our experience at Secrets Playa Mujeres was amazing. This is truly one of the best resorts we’ve ever been to. The property is beautiful, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the service was exceptional. We did have a small issue with our key card not working at one point, but the staff handled it quickly and were very helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are already planning on returning next year and would highly recommend this resort to others.

At first I had miscommunication, but it all worked out! The place is beautiful, the staff is great, quite a bit of things for kids which was great! Food some places were delicious others were typical not bad. The only thing I would say is the Hibachi was preferred guest and then opened to everyone else but not for parties of 12.MTS shuttle services were excellent as well!
