FERGUS Style Tobago - Adults Only in Palma Nova

We have stayed in all the Fergus hotels in palma Nova so we thought we would treat ourselves to the 5 star this time. First impressions very nice, check in was quick but the welcome drink had to be non alcoholic which is strange because in the fergus Style you get champagne. We went up to the rooms and we were really disappointed. You cannot swing a cat in it! The set up is so bizzare the shower and toilet are near a small wardrobe i struggled to blow dry my hair in the sink mirror and im on 5'1 tall. The drawers in the wardrobe were really awkward to open which just adding to it as we kept banging our arms on everything. I already have a bruise on my arm where i keep walking into the corner of the tv shelf. However the bed is really comfy but again just no room for anything which means the room looks messy and cramped. Ive stayed in loads of 4 star places round here and this is by far the smallest room. The food is really nice. Fresh meat and seafood cooked to order and loads of choices. But you have to pay 3.75 for a tiny bottle of water which for a 5 star is disgusting. Id expect water and a glass of wine. For what we paid for this holiday I'd rather have stayed in a previous hotel. It is nice and its clean but the room size has completely spoilt it for us.

Recently stayed in this Hotel on 19-10-2025 . Solo trip * Hotel 5 * star , beachfront ? DEFINITELY NOT 5 STAR , Hotel is basic , pool area is dull and lacks vibrance , with very loud distasteful music which starts around 10 am - 11 pm . If your planning on having an early night , no such luck .My room was for a solo traveller , Seaview which also looked out on to the pool and was above the terrace area . Also where the speakers was ' LOUD ' The room also overlooked the main street outside. Which has bars on . Every morning a truck what sounded like a bin truck , (loud engine) would arrive around 6am to collect what sounded like glass bottles . You would hear this loudly & what sounded like like smashing and banging of the glass , extremely loud . Then the truck doors would slam & it would drive off . No plug for bathroom sink, planned on washing some items before I returned home " NO SUCH LUCK " Found water in sink would not get hot enough , although shower seemed fine NOW ON THE FEE , HIDDEN* FEE OF $75 EURO FOR IN HOUSE RESIDENTS TO PAY TO USE ROOFTOP SUN DECK. This is EXTORTION!!!! What Hotel charges in house guests an extra fee of just under €100 euro per day for this luxury . I say luxury as these beds are the ONLY BEDS WHAT SEEM TO GET THE SUN ALL DAY " SURPRISE SURPRISE . BALI BEDS , With tacky cheap hard back plastic stickers with €75 on EVERY BED These are the Only beds on the rooftop . You can not put a towel down on the decking as there is literally ZERO ROOM. Clevery thought out on the hotels behalf to make even more ££ on guests. DISGRACEFUL The bottom floor pool again beds with cheap stickers on $75 Euro which again seem to be in the perfect spot for the sun . On to the other loungers , practically in the shade for half of the day . I have noticed other TripAdvisor reviews comment on this problem also . Absolutely LUDICROUS, had i of had prior notice before I booked I would never have chosen this Hotel. I have since looked on FERGUS STYLE HOTELS official site and I can not see any warning regards to the extra hidden costs. The staff was approachable, helpful, informative, polite . Service with a smile, can not fault them . Food was extremely tasty although sometimes food like potato rosti , beans and a few breakfast items would be luke warm . The kitchen workers was really lovely & made you feel welcome . Absolutely gorgeous omelettes . Overall negative feedback, found the hotel lacked vibrance , below average , , would never stay in this hotel again , would be a hotel where you dont have to pay eye sore £££ for a sunbeds.
