Hotel Abaco in Altea

My husband and l have just had a fabulous 2 night stay in this beautiful hotel. Everything about it was fabulous, from the welcome drinks and check in in the terrace, to the chocolates on the bed. Fantastic room with everything we needed. The staff are so welcoming and helpful, Sarah and Antonella were so lovely.
Our first time in Altea, such a magical place and the hotel brings a special magic of its own.
We will definitely return and have already recommended to our friends.

We stayed 3 nights in February. The hotel is in a great location , quiet but close to everything. The staff really make the difference here , kind , helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent with a super selection which catered very well for one of us who is vegan. We would definitely stay here again.

Abaco is a boutique hotel, very conveniently located right in the middle of old town and sea front in the beautiful city of Altea. I will write another review for Altea separately. My husband and I had a three day stay at Abaco. Parking garage is available at 18 Euros per day. We didn’t think our car would fit the entrance of the garage so we parked at a parking lot nearby which was safe, free and tons of parking. The room we stayed in was a premier room with a jacuzzi in the bedroom and a separate, very spacious bathroom, equipped with a two person shower with two rain showers and two hand held showers, oversized bath sheet towels, medium towels and hand towels. There was liquid hand soap, hand lotion next to a contemporary, large hand sink, tissues in a cute tissue holder, big basket for towels, and a large shelf to keep toiletries. The shower had shower gel and one combo shampoo and conditioner bottle. The toilet paper holder was very irritating and I wish hotels would pay more attention to that. In USA we’re not used to toilet paper holders that actually don’t hold the paper roll in place and falls down at every attempt to take the paper out and also having to turn 180 degrees to get the paper 😂, but that’s a personal quirk I always have. The room was quite spacious with an oversized safe and plenty of shelves for keeping luggage. The bed was queen sized - not king sized as I would’ve expected. But they do have a family sized room with extra twin beds. I would give them extra ratings for their beautiful personal touch to everything, including taking us to our room to giving us personal attention at breakfast. The breakfast experience is very personalized and we had to make a reservation for the time we would breakfast. I don’t know if they’re short staffed this time of the year (early Feb) or to give us a personal experience. But in any event, we enjoyed the experience. They do have a small buffet layout with croissants, cakes, cereals, nuts and toppings, chia pudding, cut up mixed fruits ready in little bowls, choice of jellies and jams, Nutella, honey, slices of ham, bacon, cucumbers, etc. I would suggest, though, if you don’t mind, putting cucumbers away from meats coz I couldn’t eat them and please add some actual veggies to the menu like mushrooms and green peppers or cut up tomatoes. Cukes were on the same plate as the meats and it didn’t work for me coz I am a vegetarian who eats eggs. They brought a bottle of fresh juice to our table everyday. They bring out tea and coffee on demand, unlike other hotels where you can choose your own from the coffee machine. The also take your order for eggs and toast your choice of bread. Breakfast is from 8:30-10:30 so this may not work for people who want to get started with their day early. The day we were checking out we requested boxed breakfast at 8:00AM coz we had to leave early but instead they agreed to serve us breakfast in the hotel at 8:20 but without cooked eggs. The breakfast had a very good continental selection of meats cheese croissants etc and eggs to order . The staff were amazing so helpful and pleasant and nothing was a bother . If you visit Altea I would definitely recommend staying here . They made my birthday special and I hope to return in the future !

Absolutely perfect stay in the Santorini suite. The accommodation was immaculate and beautifully designed. Every member of staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy. Lovely breakfast and I can highly recommend the cocktails in the evening. 100% all round

I’ve stayed at this hotel several times, in different seasons, and I truly love it here. I travel a lot and have experienced many high-standard hotels, but Abaco is genuinely special to me. What makes it exceptional is the authentic care. The kindness and attention here don’t feel like a protocol — they are deeply rooted in the culture of the owners and the whole team. You feel genuinely looked after, in a natural and human way, which creates a truly unique guest experience. Everything I need is always taken care of, and even as a vegan I feel fully supported and welcome. I sincerely wish the entire Abaco team continued success and prosperity — you truly deserve it.
