Hotel Sorra Daurada Splash in Malgrat de Mar

I booked without checking the reviews as the photos looked decent and it was fairly cheap. When I came to look at the reviews I was devastated and dreading the holiday, lots of bad reviews on both google and trip advisor. We had a great time at this hotel it was very clean and the food was great. Lots of choice for people who like to try something different each night or fussy people who just want to eat pizza. The salads were fabulous and there was always fresh fruit, cheeses and yogurts available. You have to keep in mind this is a very busy hotel and unfortunately attracts a low calibre crowd, most people there were okay but there we’ve plenty of scumbags.
Many people didn’t seem to be able to grasp the concept of eating at an all inclusive hotel, so rather than getting a table first and then going up to get food they would just queue straight up which meant the line would get rather long. Unfortunately this was in front of the salad bar so I would have to wait there whilst my partner waited at the table.
The breakfast was my favourite meal plenty of cooked meat options, pastries, eggs and fruits. Get there for 8am when they start serving otherwise the dining room gets very busy with ‘undesirables’ same for dinner, it starts at 7pm but you need to be down at 6:45 if you want to be one of the first in there.
The hotel itself was kept very clean by the cleaners and restaurant staff, our room did have a damp smell when we first went in but it cleared after opening the doors and putting the air con on. The walk in shower would have filled the bathroom with water too had I of not put a towel down. Luckily you do get fresh towels everyday providing you leave unclean ones on the bathroom floor.
If you do venture out be wary of african men trying to put a bracelet on you and then asking for money for their baby/family. Just say ‘No thank you’ and move on. That’s no fault of the hotel, just worth mentioning to any inexperienced holiday goers.
Our child loved the kids pool and this area was also kept very clean. There’s a bar that serves your drinks and food by the pool and you have to eat at the designated picnic areas, which was fine by me as didn’t fancy watching people eat whilst trying to sunbathe and no one wants to dodge wet floor chips. The picnic areas were also clean and well looked after by staff. Only complaint was that there was a staff shortage at the bar area one day and were only two members of staff serving the drinks area and food. Management fault there as the staff were clearly under pressure but were still polite and efficient. Estrella on tap too which is nice.
So yea if you’re not riff raff that wants to eat right next to the pool or an entitled moaning minnie you might have a good time here.

I been with kids and we are happy. Room cleaned every day, food was good, personel always nice with smile, kids loved entertainment, only ones what I didn’t like is bar near pool, needed wait long time for drinks and after 20 min my waiting they closed so lost my time and didn’t have drink.
