Gran Hotel Flamingo-Adults Only Older 18 Years Old in Lloret de Mar

Having previously stayed at Hotel Delamar I was looking forward to our break. We arrived at the hotel yesterday, excited for our stay. We were early for check in so went to the roof top for a drink and lunch. On returning from the bathroom I was told I couldn't re-enter as our band didn't allow. After being marched back to reception, I politely explained my problem that my party was still upstairs enjoying their drinks. The security guard was told that we all had to leave. He stood over us whilst we finished drinks and my friend had to mobilise from the lounger to her wheelchair. This was incredibly uncomfortable for us all after making a genuine mistake. He could easily have said finish your drinks and then you will have to leave, after all no one had refused to sell us drinks. So slightly embarrassed we vacated and went downstairs for lunch. On check in we enquired about paying and were told we were standard and couldn't. When booking, one of the selling points was the roof root bar and pool and this is not made clear on 3rd party sites. The biggest disappointment was when we got to our room. The room was dark, dirty and unsafe. We were all incredibly disappointed given it states 4*. I sat on the bed and it tipped up and I am now left bruised. On inspection of the bed was missing a leg. The white walls were dirty and there was a lot of dust balls which clearly hadn't been cleaned in some time. On talking to reception. We were told " well you only booked standard" When does a bed with all its legs or a clean room mean superior? I take both of these to be pretty standard in any hotel. I've read other reviews liking the hotel to a Travelodge and have to stay I've stayed in many Travelodge hotels and this room was definitely not at the standard. The receptionist kept shaking her head, which we all felt was a "not another complaint" shake. She didn't seem surprised by what we were saying but at the same time never apologised. We are now loving life in a hotel in Fenals as we couldn't stay in that room for our sainty or safety. We are still waiting for an acknowledgement and apology from the hotel.

I recently stayed at the Gran Flamingo for 4 nights while attending the Barcelona Grand Prix. While the hotel itself is clean and modern, with polite and efficient housekeeping staff, our overall experience was unfortunately marred by poor service from other staff members. From the start, communication with the hotel was frustrating. Before arrival, my father emailed to ask if the hotel could provide any advice or assistance regarding transport to and from the Grand Prix. The response was blunt: a simple “No, we have no information.” No suggestions, no alternatives—despite the hotel actively promoting the Grand Prix weekend on their social media. We hoped this might improve once on-site, but unfortunately, it did not. Upon check-in, we again asked about transport to the circuit and received another unhelpful response. Throughout the stay, we consistently found the staff particularly at reception, in the restaurant, and at the bar, to be disinterested, dismissive, and at times outright rude. Breakfast service was cold and unwelcoming, with no greetings—just a sharp “Room number” before being waved through. Bar service was worse I was ignored while standing at the bar while bar staff were chatting amongst themselves. The most frustrating part was discovering, on our final morning, that 2 tables in the restaurant were labelled “Formula 1.” Clearly, the hotel had some sort of package or service for Grand Prix guests—something they flatly denied any knowledge of when we asked earlier in the week. We’ve travelled extensively over the years, and I can honestly say this was one of the least welcoming hotel experiences we’ve ever had. The front-of-house team would benefit greatly from basic customer service training. It's a shame, because the hotel has potential, but until the service improves, we won’t be returning.
