Hostal LA Fosca in Palamos

I did not stay at the hostel. I only visited the restaurant to have lunch in October on a sunny day. My dad and I sat outside on the sand and ordered Fideua of Prawns. The service was fast, and polite. Overall amusing. We sat outside on the sand and there were just too many flies swarming around us. They stood on our food, faces and legs and made the experience somewhat uncomfortable. I’d appreciate if the restaurant did something to mitigate since we saw it was annoying for other customers as well

We only had lunch here. We were happy to get a spot without a reservation during a busy lunch. The service was quite hectic, with waiters running around and quite long waiting times without much communication. The view was really great but with 2 hungry kids quite a challenge. In the end they moved fast on the starters and the food for the kids. The pan con tomate and fried squid were fine, and the kids meals were too. The paella was not. It basically only tasted like salt. The house white wine was nice but all in all the price was high for a not so great lunch in terms of the paella and service. The hectique and general lack of friendliness really are a miss, while other things were really fine the main course should not be disappointing like this. I could not tell the staff this as they did not ask once how it was.
