ALEGRIA Plaza Paris & Spa 4 SUP in Lloret de Mar

We chose this hotel based on the facilities advertised, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing overall.

The biggest issue was the air conditioning. Despite temperatures being very warm, the system appeared to be capped at 23°C, making the room uncomfortable and difficult to cool down, especially at night. Combined with paper-thin walls and constant noise from both neighbouring rooms and the street outside, getting a good night’s sleep was almost impossible.

The food was also well below expectations. The selection was limited and often uninspiring, and as half-board guests we were surprised that no drinks were included with dinner. Having to pay extra for every drink felt poor value for money.

The pool area was another disappointment. The pool was advertised as heated, but it was not heated during our stay. There was no lifeguard present, and although the pool is supposedly smoke-free, guests were smoking around the pool on multiple occasions without any staff intervention.

The spa is available only at an additional charge, and the prices felt excessive considering the facilities already advertised as part of the hotel experience.

Housekeeping standards could also be improved. The shower gel and hand soap dispensers were empty by the second day of our five-night stay and were never refilled despite daily room servicing.

The hotel does have some positives, including a convenient location and generally friendly staff, but there are too many areas where the reality does not match what is advertised. Overall, we left feeling disappointed and would not choose to stay here again.

We had a great stay at this hotel until checkout day, which completely ruined the experience.

The location was good, and up until the final day we had no major issues. After checking out around 11am, the hotel allowed us to store our luggage in their supposedly “locked” luggage room while we waited for our airport transfer and sat by the pool.

Around two hours later, we returned to discover that both of our medium/large suitcases had been stolen.

When we informed staff, we were immediately met with denial and repeatedly told this was “impossible” because the room is supposedly locked whenever guests enter and exit. Despite there being CCTV cameras clearly covering the luggage room and lobby area, staff were extremely reluctant to review footage or allow anyone else to see it.

The most frustrating part was the hotel’s response afterwards. They did not encourage us to contact the police and instead claimed they would handle it themselves. During multiple phone calls afterwards, staff repeatedly suggested that “friends must be playing a prank” on us - despite us travelling alone as a couple, not socialising with anyone during the holiday, and making it very clear we knew nobody at the hotel.

Jet2 later informed us that their representative was also refused access to CCTV footage unless requested directly by police. However, as far as we are aware, the hotel never contacted the police themselves or took any meaningful action while we were there.

Because we had a flight to catch, we were forced to leave for the airport with only our beach towels and hand luggage. In total we lost around €160 in cash and approximately £2,000–£3,000 worth of clothes, jewellery, and sentimental belongings.

What makes this especially disappointing is that we had genuinely enjoyed the holiday prior to this incident. Unfortunately, the dismissive attitude from staff and management afterwards made us feel unsupported and almost as though the situation was being brushed aside rather than properly investigated.

Based on our experience, we would not stay here again or recommend leaving valuables in the hotel’s luggage storage facilities.

I stayed at this hotel and was shocked by the behavior of the night security staff. Even though we were told to keep the noise down, the response was completely unacceptable – we were forced to leave the building in the middle of the night and were not allowed back until 7 AM. I am 16 years old, and this left me and my friends outside in the cold with no safe place to go. This is not only unprofessional but also dangerous, especially for minors. I would strongly advise management to train their staff to handle situations in a way that ensures guest safety.

Air conditioning did not work
The location is central and very close to the beach. The breakfast spread was quite pleasant and had variety. However the ac absolutely did not work in the room. We visited during a heatwave, the air con would stop working at night on its own or the thermostat would not allow us to change the temperature. We literally were suffocated and suffered , unable to sleep all 4 nights which really impacted our over all experience

It’s a youth hostel, not a 4 stars hotel.
More of a youth hostel than on hotel! Avoid if you are looking to actually sleep and relax. The walls of the rooms are paper thin, at night we would be woken constantly by youngest running around the corridors, playing around and making mess.
The hotel requires a deposit for everything, including a €10 deposit for a single towel to use at the pool, absolutely ridiculous! Another deposit to use the room safe is required, plus it costs €5 a day. Since when someone needs to pay to protect their belongings in an hotel room?? Having read other reviews that stated stuff was stolen, we decided to carry all our valuables with us at all time.
Rooms were not properly cleaned daily, they would only change the towels and make the beds, no hoovering the floors or actually cleaning the bathroom.
We called ahead to inform the staff that we were vegetarians, having selected the all inclusive package we planned to eat at the restaurant for each meal, yet on our first dinner there was absolutely nothing for us to eat, every single food option was either with fish or meat in it, staff were quite ignorant to what a vegetarian is and could not tell us what contained meat/fish and what didn’t, after we complained the following days we found enough choices for us, there is nothing to say about the quality of the food other than it was very delicious, the only positive thing about our stay.
However, the labelling of the food needs improvement, as allergens were not clearly stated anywhere.
