Family holiday. Chosen for location and looked like it catered for kids but was disappointed. Opposite beach in quieter area so perfect for beach holiday. Hotel pool was disappointing. Not many sunbeds for April so in high season definitely wouldn’t get a bed. Pool was freezing and although they said not heated it would have made a huge difference for kids. The kids pool is all shaded so I think in summer maybe good but we didn’t use it due to it being cold and also dirty. Rooms-Super king bed and small double pull out bed. Good bathroom, little fridge. No balconies at all which we missed. Food-we were AI and plenty of food but themed so one night was pretty much all seafood, one night all Chinese based foods etc. No kids food/section like most places have. My kids have allergies and it was poor. Chef’s weren’t very helpful/misunderstood-Egg and Peanuts. No allergy signage on any of the food. One of my kids just ate chips all week as lots had meat in sauces and stews and I couldn’t trust their struggles to understand me. One rice was labelled “Rice with mushrooms” but I found prawns in it which I am allergic to. Drinks were excellent. Roof top bar excellent too. Entertainment was limited but some singers each night. Lift was broken all week, one small one for whole hotel. Lots of floors to walk! Overall, if a fit couple wanting good drinks, have no food restrictions and are after a quieter location it is good. If a family or anyone needing access or help, they are simply not interested.

Had potential but overall disappointing Travelled as a family 4 adults and 3 children aged 3-13. Pro’s: location Branded drinks Free water machine on room floor Sun terrace great view, bar, comfy chairs and beds Room size was good and comfy beds (no balcony’s) Cons: Sewage smell all week Only one lift working so you will wait a long time Small dining area, have to book time slots and you’ll be queuing in height of season NO ALLERGEN markers on food!! No children’s area/ Very limited options for children (we had to ask what my daughter could have all week due to egg allergy. She ended up with chips, bread roll, yoghurt and fruit for a full week) Children’s splash zone is completely in the shade and the sun never reaches it. Water was cold and hadn’t been cleaned full of wasps and beetles. Main Pool area ok but again very small. You would struggle to get sunbed in summer. Staff were ok but not overly helpful and the duty manager was quite rude and defensive when we asked about our food options on the day we left. Overall I would say this is a 4 star location and a 3 star hotel Suitable for couples but not particularly families Won’t return

Beautiful sea view from our jacuzzi room, location is very good for shops and restaurants and bars everything in a good range! Room kept stunningly clean every day. Fresh towels and smelling clean and fresh, staff are delightful and welcoming in all areas including buffet, bars everything and reception nothings been any bother such a beautiful atmosphere, great value for money and experience has been a unique and wonderful experience

I cannot recommend this Hotel high enough. All the staff are so nice and friendly and helpful. We had our birthdays here as were treated like royalty. The hotel is spotless all through. Rooms cleaned every day. 2 weeks of doing nothing except eat and drink. Location is near to old town

We stayed at Hotel Villa del Mar and overall had a great short stay. The room with the jacuzzi was fantastic — the view was amazing and the room itself felt a bit short but good for relaxing.
The staff were consistently nice, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. The bars were ok: service was fast and everything was well organized
A couple of small downsides: the buffet is a fairly basic standard buffet, and the dining room felt too brightly lit with little ambience. That said, for a short getaway it’s a solid choice, and I’d definitely recommend it for a quick stay with a great view.

We booked a villa two months in advance for a family trip (5 adults, 1 elderly person and 4 children). We drove 1400 km from France to Spain, and I called the agency staff(his name is Alexandre) to let him know we would arrive at 8 pm. He accepted without any problem.
Unfortunately, due to huge traffic, we were delayed by only 5 minutes. I called and texted him to inform him that we would arrive at 8:05 pm. Instead of understanding the situation, the person ignored our calls, switched off his phone, and cancelled our reservation without any explanation.
We arrived with our family and children at night, tired after such a long drive, and had no place to stay. We were left in the street, unsafe, stressed and shocked. This behavior is unprofessional, irresponsible, and inhumane.

Sorry for the delay in writing this review, but because we stay at the hotel so often we need to wait 3 months between reviews So, we stayed over the New Year and the gala dinner on New Year’s Eve was as delicious and spectacular as the one we had in 2023. I would recommend a stay at New Year for the dinner alone. The entertainment and party afterwards cannot be sniffed at either. We met some great friends, mostly Spanish, and danced the night away. Next we stayed in February for my wife’s birthday. The sea view room was great and the week very relaxing. Of course, she got spoilt. First we had a lovely lunch with some Spanish friends we know. Then Gina surprised her with a slice of cake with a candle and Karen and the other staff sang happy birthday. Finally some people we met had gone out and bought a cake. Sophia stopped the show in the Llum de Coral and presented her with it. Then everyone sang happy birthday. My wife will never forget everyone’s kindness. I want to thank everyone who works at the Villa Del Mar for making our stay so special in particular Gina, Karen, and Veneta (Qué tal) from the restaurant. Carol and Gabby from the bars. Sophia for keeping us entertained and for the video of my wife dancing on stage with Alejandr Lax the most excellent guitarist. You truly are our Familia española. See you in June.

Just back from a short holiday at the Villa del Mar What a lovely hotel. Everything clean and tidy. Plenty of good food on offer. Drinks, top shelf!!! Entertainment every evening downstairs. The rooftop lounge was the best aspect for me. The weather was perfect and the area was immaculate. Lots of sofas and beds to relax on. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. One member especially, Karen in the restaurant. I was not feeling well and asked for a hot honey and lemon drink. With the help of google translate, she made me the best hot drink. It was so appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble for her even though it was busy lunchtime. Our room was lovely, very clean, lots of toiletries and gorgeous white fluffy towels. Mini bar in the room was a nice touch, cava, beer, soft drinks and a couple of chocolates. The pool and the spa we didn't use, I would have loved to use the indoor pool but I was under the impression it was only available to clients with AI+ . A shame because this was one of the reasons we booked. We did have a Seaview room with a jacuzzi which was really nice. A perfect view down the beach. Only one thing was not right in the hotel, only one lift was working and that did cause a queue at times. I hope it's working soon. When youre on the 8th floor a lift is imperative. I would love to come back to this hotel one day.

Room 601 supreme room!! Well what can I say, room need revamping, see photos. Weird lay out of hotel, you have to go outside to another building to get your coffee after meals and drinks. Meant to have snacks but left over lunch items in a tiny cabinate. Food was ok. Rude server called Patricia would make good prison warden. Only one lift working!!! And sometimes didnt work. So had to walk up 12 flights of stairs. Location was good and room from room. Reception used a couple of times but didnt solve issues or didnt listen to requests. Not a 4 star, not sure how they got that maybe a high 2 star. Would not return or recommend.
