Medplaya Hotel Flamingo Oasis in Benidorm

Food not good and cold Hotel needs modernising and isn't clean It says no hen parties but we had 2 a 50th party and 18th party. It was so noisy we complained twice and had to get security Entertainment was awful Reception staff not helpful and didn't ask us how are stay was Towels had holes in Sockets falling off the wall in the bathroom and my son was trying to touch it Broken glass bottles in the swimming pool • The list aoes on

Stayed here recently. When we first arrived I was amazed and thought the hotel was amazing. However it wasn’t what it seemed. Our room was okay beds were super uncomfortable like sleeping on a concrete block. Sofa in the room needed to be deep cleaned as had stains all over it. The room was cleaned every few days. The cleaner on our floor spent her day in an unoccupied room looking busy. Lifts go straight to the 24th and 25th floor as they pay extra to be there so you spend a lot of time waiting for a lift.
Restaurant- unless you pay extra to be in a club room you have to get out of the elevator at ground 0 walk through reception and take another lift or walk down stairs. Not very disabled friendly when club members can go straight to the restaurant in the normal elevator and get let in by their fob.
cutlery was dirty, glasses were dirty and mugs were stained, sometimes there was no glasses or cups and had to wait a long time for any to arrive. Not something you expect from a 4* hotel. Most staff were rude especially when stating you had food allergies. Head chef however was lovely and helped us daily on what could and couldn’t be eaten and even cooked especially on 2 occasions. I ended up violently sick on day 3. Not sure if it was from the food or due to the fact a bug was spreading through the hotel. Considering I saw no cleaners wipe handrails or elevators I’m not surprised. However if it was a bug the 4 of us would have all been ill which was not the case, all I know is I have never been so ill in all of my life and I am still unable to eat full meals over a week on.
The pool- outdoor didn’t use as it’s not heated.
Indoor pool small and outdated even had missing tiles on the pool floor. Make sure to take your towels as there is none available to you when you’re there. There is a sauna available at an extra cost of €5. Not what you expect from “all inclusive”.
Husband tried using room service as our son was sick but the phone didn’t work in the room so he ended up pressing a few buttons and security turned up to the room. He managed to say he wanted food and reception managed to call the phone to take the order. They asked if he wanted to pay card or cash and he said card. When the order got the room, the lady delivering it demanded cash and was very rude to the point my husband told her to take the food away as he said he only had card to pay. He ended up having to go down to reception to take cash out and pay for the food there and then. Again not something you expect. Most hotels charge to the room and payment is made on check out! Absolute absurd.
We had a great time in Benidorm due to the people we were with. We will definitely not return to this hotel. I suggest people do their research on how many people have been ill staying there. Had I researched this before hand I would have booked elsewhere.
