I stayed at Mandarin Hotel for 20 days for business. The food, rooms, and location of the hotel are very good. It is a very good choice for a seaside and quiet holiday. There is music and entertainment at night

Our children loved playing in the pool and during the low tide we could do beautiful walks in the sand. The water in the ocean is so nice to swim in, clean, warm and blue

The villas are nice with private pools. We wanted more privacy so we asked the staff to provide cover and they did so very kindly. The resort overlooks the ocean with magnificent views and activities

We are visit the hotel in October for one week. The rooms is very clean, staff was absolutely very nice and they always smile. The animation team also very good. Cocktails very nice mandarin Cocktail very delicious

Amazing holiday at the great place. really we are enjoying all the time, the hotel is very beautiful. everything is amazing there staff very helpful and very professional they always smile food very delicious

People are so kind and helpful, always smiling and spreading positive energy. Everyday we had something delicious. Soups were my favourite! A Lot of salads and yummy drinks. I want to come back soon again!

We met great people, still friends after the trip, we did most of the excursions together

Cleaned daily including mopping of floors. Fresh bath towels will be provided if you leave used towel on the floor, and it seems towels are changed regardless on weekends

Everything about this resort was great, accommodation was very good, big room, with a great shower / bathroom. The food was good, enjoyed the different culture food every night

The a la carte restaurant (additional cost) makes more Western style meals too. The food is good, not excellent but not terrible. Normal buffet I guess! All inclusive drinks menu is fairly extensive

If you do need to stay connected, there are lots of sofas in the reception area where you can sit and log on. - Accept that certain food which is commonplace in your culture/country may not be as easily available in ZNZ

Friendly staff, especially Ally from the restaurant, who was very attentive and made sure we were happy the whole time at breakfast or while sitting by the pool

I was disappointed with the pool and rocky beach so was not able to enjoy. Otherwise would highly recommend

I can say much but lots of gratitude for the lovely service I got at this lovely hotel,the checkin was flawless I arrived quite early and they went overboard and gave me an early checkin, the room was a seaview quite different from what I had booked they did an upgrade for me which was a surprise by itself I had the best experience thanks to zanzibar beach and promise to be back next year

I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Stone Town. It is close to all the attractions. There is a wonderful restaurant on the roof with a view, where it is always cool. There is a swimming pool and a coffee shop

Room was small but ok for our one night stay. Airconditioning and wifi worked well. Bed was too hard, at least for us. Breakfast was quite ok but service at breakfast was not. Nice, small pool in the garden

I stayed at this resort for weeks and it was worth my money spent. Amazing service by the staff. Delicious food! Not forgetting the fresh different types of juice served in the morning . I will definitely go back there.

Grisham in particular was very professional, reliable, well-spoken with English, and was able to meet all our requests (including having breakfast made earlier than normal for our flight) with a smile

The food was good, and BiBi's restaurant is a short drive away if you desire something else. FOR UPPER MANAGEMENT: The executive suite was extremely spacious, but the fridge didn't open or seem to be on for us

Staff seem to do the best they can despite limitations, very picturesque in itself however was told to get cash to pay for food and expenses as their card machine was not working.

A safe refuge in a chaotic island The stay was very lovely compared to the surrounding parts of Zanzibar. You sometimes forgot there was a world outside the resort. The staff was very respectful and helpful

It's a bit far from the city center, but it's okay unless you're on a business trip.

The pool is a decent size and calm. It has a short shallow end then becomes quite deep. Beware that there is no indication of how deep it at actually is.  Overall, I think the price was fair for the quality of the stay

Location: Conveniently located to many places in stone town. And very close to the highly recommended restaurant Luk Maan! Steps away from forodhani gardens/market and other popular sites

Service: Overall was very good, i have no complaints it was a nice stay. Cleanliness: cleaners regularly came in to clean and left cute snacks on the bed. Pool: The pool was great, very deep i'm 5'6 and had to tread

The common areas for breakfast and by the pool were also clean. Any messes in the common areas were cleaned promptly. The bed is a firm mattress but it was comfortable

Food: we missed breakfast the first day, but were able to have it the remaining days and it was always good. The restaurant which hosted breakfast was very cute with swings and canopy trees and the pool

The area around the hotel is bustling in the day and quiet at night. A taxi cannot drive up to this property so you will to do a short walk through the streets to get there. The staff were friendly and always greeted us

The hotel is a 15 room cozy, quite, and warm space. Rooms were spacious and well kept. The staff cleans on daily basis…change sheets, pillows, towels and most importantly take into consideration all your remarks

The common area and pool were great to sit and read a book or play cards. The food was good so were the cocktails. They even let us keep one room to keep our things and relax in for a late check at no charge

right there on our beach for a small fee. For swimming the hotel pool was beautiful. The food in the hotel restaurant was reasonably priced and good

My wife and I stayed at Zawadi for 5 nights from the 25th-30th November this year and it was nothing short of spectacular. The villa was amazing, everything looked and felt new and it was always kept immaculately clean

Every bite was blissful especially their decadent desserts. Most of all, the staff made you feel so welcomed and at home. Every single interaction with them was personal. Personal for us and personal for them

Had a misunderstanding regarding the city tax payable and Jacky was patient and went out her way to resolve the issue. Rooms were clean and sprayed in the evening for mosquitoes was an elegant touch

I stayed at Golden Tulip Zanzibar recently and the experience was mixed. The property itself is nice and the majority of the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming — they really made the stay pleasant

Loved the stay here! Amazing location in a chilled beach, lots of spots around to chill, lots of green, good food and excellent breakfast, hot shower, rustic clean rooms with daily housekeeping, hammocks, sand all around without concrete, which is amazing because you really feel you live on the beach

An incredibly well-managed and cosy corner of the island. Claudia and the rest of the staff make you feel incredibly well during your stay, leaving you space but always being present and available with a nice vibe

We had a fantastic stay at the Palms. The small number of villas provides for a intimate getaway. The service from all the staff is great, a special mention to Ngasa and Jackson who made us feel at home at the Palms

Amazing location, basically on the beach! Clean pool and clean rooms. Very nice and helpful staff. Me and my husband chose Matemwe for a more quiet time, it was as expected. Absolutely worth the money.

This spacious suite had also a bath room with a bath tub and shower as well. Additionally it also had a terrace. Outside you have a community pool and the restaurant as well

I opted for this hotel as it is close to the best snorkeling spots. The check-in went smooth and I was guided too my room, which was lovely decorated and clean as well

The location is good, very close to the sea, and next to the castle (one of the castles) of Stone Town. The front desk is nice, the room is big and clean, with hot water

After climbing Kilimanjaro and safari in the Serengeti, it felt like a break for the first time

The hotel is also centrally located and within walking distance of restaurants and Fordhani park, which is very convenient. Booking directly with the property or walking in can get you a cheaper rate

Stayed here last October and service and attention to detail was amazing. Hence why we returned this January. A simple thing for an asthmatic like me was to request a pillow that was foam or synthetic

The answer I got was sorry don’t have but if you get an attack we can take you to a hospital. How absurd! Standards have dropped. I had to ask for a plate four times before I got one at breakfast

I didn't understand why, it was awkward. But the rest of the hotel is wonderful. You can look at the artifacts that the hotel is full of for a long time. There is a swimming pool and even a fountain

The room had a balcony and a view of the embankment. The hotel and rooms are made in the old colonial style. The room is clean, in the evening, if desired, they treated for mosquitoes. Excellent pool in the courtyard

Very close to the ferry to Dar es Salaam. The hotel building is very historic. The room is large and the sea view is right outside the window. The breakfast is rich. The restaurant is on the balcony facing the sea.

A gorgeous hotel right in the center of events. We had a huge room with a view of the ocean and the port, with a large balcony. The only thing is that it was named after the famous slave trader, Tippu Tip

The windows are stained glass. The location is also excellent. Nearby is the night market, which is a bright landmark, the Mercury House is a 7-minute walk away, the House of Wonders and the old fort are also very close

The biggest advantage is having a separate cottage! Qambani is the perfect place to relax, if you literally want to do nothing, except laze by the pool, or read a book! We absolutely loved the resort, from the staff, to the rooms, it was perfect

The staff we met from housekeeping, gardeners, waiting staff, pool area staff, to the supervisors we dealt with, each and everyone was helpful, polite, professional and exceptionally warm and friendly

I especially appreciate the overall aesthetic of the decor looking like it was cobbled together from shipwrecks and driftwood

The manager even came running to our room when the Internet service was briefly restored to inform us so we could rebook our flight home. That small window of Internet was all we got for the remainder of our stay

They were super apologetic about any miscommunications, arranged us a bus pick up from the ferry port for our group (even though it's close by) and upgraded one of our rooms. The staff were lovely, rooms very clean

My stay at this hotel was excellent. The owners of this hotel are very good. They are hands on and very active and always ready to help. The rooms are clean and tidy and have a working air conditioning system

Seeing the reviews I was a bit worried about this one but they were great! Communication was a bit sporadic prior to the stay, but once I called them and got their number, they were brilliant

Nice pool right at beach - but very basic breakfast

It was amazing! It was really soo beautifully decorated. Loved the little water bowl outside the room to rinse your feet. The staff were soo kind & helpful. The only thing the room needs is a long mirror in the room

The restaurant is very good. The best we have tried in Zanzibar by far. Do not miss the Cigale lobster it is a must eat in their restaurant. It is a very good deal and it is delicious
