Other reviews stating that Malibu is way more dated than the pictures are very accurate. It was fine, not dirty, but just a bit old feeling on the inside of the rooms. I did get one beach towel with stains on it which was a bit gross and the beach chairs have seen better days as well. I also didn’t have hot water in the shower, but did in the sink so that was weird, but after being hot and sweaty outside I didn’t mind a lukewarm shower.
The breakfast was good, pool felt clean, and the staff was very kind so those were all positives. Overall, I’m sure you could find something a bit better for the price but it was fine for a short stay.

We had a pleasant stay at this resort.Location was outstanding . Central Samui was right infront of the resort and behind it is the beach .They allowed early check-in which was an added advantage.Staff are super friendly .Room was good . Garden infront of rooms was well maintained.Overall a superb stay.

I am a resident of neighboring island Koh Phangan and come to Koh Samui often. My favorite hotel is Malibu and I try whenever possible to book there. Why? First, superb service, as staff genuinely care for the wellbeing and experience of the guests. Reception and restaurant staff are especially good. This time, my booking was done directly with Pintoh, who handled every bit of it, including an extraordinary artful anniversary welcome in the room. My girlfriend was astonished. Early check in, advance texts to check on arrival. The rooms are great, not overly lavish but super comfortable and tastefully decorated. Nice big bathrooms. Great seaside pool and the beach is right there. Good food. Good value. And perfect location, a short walk to Central. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. The proprietors clearly care about their guests.

Staff is super friendly and helpful, the bungalows are really cozy and clean. Steps from the beach, a pool, and really centrally located. Highly recommend! The breakfast is really delicious too

I absolutely loved our stay. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Location was really good, on the beach and in the town, can rent a bike to get about! Loved the room it was so cute, beach hut vibes! Bathroom could be a little cleaner but I can’t really complain about this place. Good value for money too

I stayed here last year and had another great experience. It’s low season, so only a few guests are around. This means that the breakfast offering is simple but it is fresh and well made (when it’s high season there are more guests, thus more choices at breakfast). All the staff are lovely, warm and welcoming. There were a few that I remembered from my last stay, and they remembered me too. Any questions I had were answered quickly. There are some improvements to the property from last year, the biggest one being the improvement of the WiFi, that is now located in each room! Their location on the beach is perfect and they are directly across the street from Central Market. I’ll be back.

Mixed Experience at Malibu Resort Koh Samui
The location of Malibu Resort is excellent – it’s right on the beach and directly across from the Koh Samui city center shopping mall. This makes it very convenient for shopping, dining, and exploring the area. The beach itself is great for swimming, and several good restaurants and attractions are within walking distance.
The rooms, however, are quite basic. While there is hot water and a balcony to relax on, the TV lacks Netflix or YouTube, so it’s not ideal if you’re looking for entertainment. That said, the rooms are functional and can serve well as a crash pad for those who just need a place to rest and unwind.
A word of caution: be wary of the water jet scooter providers operating right on the beach in front of Malibu. We had a very unpleasant encounter with them. After inadvertently parking the scooter on the wrong section of the beach (which we weren’t informed about), they were extremely aggressive and shouted at us, ruining the mood of the day. Unfortunately, the resort staff had no affiliation with these vendors and couldn’t offer any assistance.
It was a disappointing experience, especially since we were just trying to enjoy the day. I hope the resort management takes note of this and finds a way to ensure better interactions between guests and these third-party vendors.
Overall, Malibu is a good spot if you’re looking for a convenient location with access to the beach and nearby amenities. Just be cautious with the jet ski operators to avoid any unnecessary stress.

Great reviews were so inaccurate in my opinion.
Old rooms. Dirty. Bugs. Bed bugs? Mosquitos. I got bit everywhere. :(

During one-night thunderstorm...a strong foul sewage smell entered my room. Horrible couldn't sleep. In the morning I notice that everything on the bathroom counter was soaked.. there must have been a leak in the roof. Granted I paid extra for the 1st and only room with a pool view! Ridiculous!

Lovely hotel on the beach with enough sun loungers for both the hotel and walkers by, the restaurant / bar had a lot to offer with reasonable prices. The rooms we were very spacious and the bed was comfy. The beach was by the beach on the strip, enough room and didn’t feel crowded

Super convenient location. Literally connected to central Samui Mall. Room is ok , a bit noisy from the hall way. Shampoo and body wash has no label , you have to guess which one it is. Front desk was friendly enough and we were able to leave our luggage for a few hours after checkout. If you are looking for something that's close to everything , this is the place !

The place is much older and run down than in the photo
Room is clean but the MUSTY DAMP smell everywhere.
Corridor is exactly what you have in a student hall … very old, smell and run down.
Location is right next to Central shopping mall - convenient for those who wants to go to shopping mall.

The location was really good the hostel is directly next to the Samui Central Shopping Area.
The room were clean, the bed was really comfortable in my opinion and they offered daily room service. There was only one big disadvantage for me, the air condition only works when the room key is in the room. So every time you leave the room, the air is standing, really warm and smelling really bad also because of the toilet paper in the trash, ...
Another problem with the room was that the a few towels had stains on them.
All in all we really liked the stay, if you want to close to the center this is the perfect Hotel.
Tipp: Ask for a room in the 2. house out of 3, because there is the rooftop pool and the laundry room.

I review hotel rooms on the level how my sleep and therefore my rest was.
It was very bad. The walls are so thin, that I was woken up a couple of times because my neighbors were talking loud.
In the room are two very bright blue LEDs. They are so bright, that the room is not dark at all. It's blue. I tried to cover them with a towel which worked so so ok. On the ceiling there is a smoke detector, which is very good, but it has a blinking led light as well, very annoying in the dark as well.
My Rest factor was very low. Everything else of the stay was ok.

The COSI is not a luxury hotel but it is exceptionally good value for the price.
Simple rooms, clean, well presented with minimal extras. A great place to stay if you don't intend on being inside the room much, as the room is very plain and has no balcony or view.
