I initially intended to stay at Nonni Guesthouse for only a few nights, but I ended up extending my stay multiple times, and stayed there for more than three weeks while I looked for a permanent place of residence. The owner is incredibly friendly and willing to help with any questions you may have/booking you may want to do. The dog is adorable. The private rooms are spacious and clean, the air conditioning works very well, and all for a price as low as you will find anywhere in the city. The location is excellent, a short walk from the south gate of the old city, and near many restaurants/massage parlors/this one great little bakery. I was really happy with my time at Nonni, and highly recommend staying there.

This hostel is highly recommended if you’re traveling alone. Place is super sociable, made loads of friends while staying here. Social reps Luella and Meg were so nice, they made sure that I get what I needed like going to an Elephant Sanctuary and Cooking Class. The Pub Crawl was soooo fun, with the reps! Will stay here again for sure!!

This little place has a great feel, a nice terrace with very reasonably priced drinks and an adorable, playful, lovely little dog (Chanom). The rooms have quiet a/c that is strong, as well as a fan. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They were able to recommend lots of good activities and gave us discounts when booking as well. Excellent value and a great stay!

A very clean, cozy hotel/guest house. I stayed here on two occasions during my visits to Chiang Mai. The owner Allan is extremely friendly and funny and gave me tools and some parts to help me fix my suitcase's broken handle. He's also knowledgeable about the area and is happy to give you tips and ideas. His little white fluffy dog Chanom is ridiculously cute, and I loved playing with her. There's just a very nice ambience and energy here.

The rooms cost almost as little as a bed at a local hostel! I actually moved out of a hostel and came here.

There air-conditioning is pretty quiet, the bathrooms are clean, and you get towels and soap. The refrigerator in the room is a nice feature as I always buy lots of fruit. I've traveled in Asia for half a year, and this is one of the best values I've seen.

Really chill place. The owner, Allan, is a super friendly and calm guy. He gave us honest advices of what to do and see. Also, he pointed out the attractions and activities that are overrated so we didn't waste our time and money. The best thing is, he gave us detail information such as the price for renting a motorbike so we didn't get ripped off. Last but not least, the tour he recommended is cheaper than another where else! Would recommend people to stay here!

Very clean little guesthouse, with a nice patio, and a super hospitable Kiwi owner named Allan. It's my new go-to guesthouse for Chiang Mai. The private rooms are super cheap, and are very clean. The beds are well above average (especially for Thailand), and each room has an air-conditioner and also an oscillating fan.

Allan is a great guy to have a chat about virtually anything (especially if you're looking for stuff to do in Chiang Mai) but also just a good guy to have a chat with in general.

A lovely little budget accommodation, with friendly staff and great location. Got to know Allen throughout the few days staying here, he's a wonderful individual who truly cares about the people staying in his guest house. Powerful aircon, clean bathroom, soft towels, quiet nights. Night much more to ask for.

LOVE IT! So homey, relaxing. The owners and employees are laid back. Got a tv up front, couple of tables by the patio. Have a beer, or something stronger. The owner very friendly and like a cool grandpa vibe. The owner can recommend many things depending on your preference. Peaceful trip, lively ones, etc... Definitely a good local source, they can provide you information that you will never get online or travel agents wont share with you.

Incredibly friendly and helpful owner, central location and cheap to stay.

Easily the best place in Chiang Mai to stay if you're travelling as a pair, price works out at around $5 each a night. Each room has its' own en suite, tv, ac unit and refrigerator. Allan the owner was very knowledgeable about all the local tours and activities on offer.

Basic but super clean and friendly staff. Great location.
