Our family of four - with two teenagers - had a fantastic stay. The staff were accommodating and friendly, the rooms were comfortable with great a/c, and the breakfast was amazing - eggs, muesli, fruit, french-press coffee, juice and more. Really one of the nicest places we’ve stayed.

Wonderful place to stay
Wonderful place to stay in the Old City. The owners and employees who run this hotel are kind, efficient and go above and beyond to serve their guests. We had a comfortable stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

After the chaos of Bangkok, this was what we needed - a quiet B&B in a beautiful neighborhood, within walking distance of almost everything.

This is not a luxury hotel, nor does it try to be. It is a quaint old home that has been transformed into a beautiful spot to rest and sleep. Our favorite spot was the balcony - we would simply look at the flowers and watch the birds.

One thing, being a small B&B, the breakfast is not the huge buffet with a huge selection of food. Instead, it is freshly made coffee, eggs any way, fresh toast and lots and lots of fresh fruit. For me, the ideal breakfast is coffee, bread and mango, so I was in my happy place.

It is a wonderful old house that makes its own music - you quickly discover which floorboards squeak and learn to avoid them at night. And waking up to the calling of birds is always a blessing.

It was a very nice traditional inn. It was quiet in the middle of greenery and the birds were singing, which was soothing. I was also happy that there was tea in the common area. I would like to stay here again.

It was smaller than other rooms I saw on blogs and it wasn't the room I wanted, so I was very disappointed. I booked it for 70,000 won, but the room condition and breakfast didn't seem worth it. The staff were friendly and the bathroom was clean. Body wash wasn't provided, so I had to wash with soap.

I really like the cabin surrounded by plants and the dream love house.

Reception staff speaks English fluently and always very kind and helpful. Also the interior is very good. All furniture is well chosen. The entrance looks nice too. On the second floor they have complimentary coffee and tea in public space and can sit on balcony locking chair to hear bird sounds as I want(though having mosquito repellent is better).
If I visit Chiangmai next time I would stay there again.

Sawasdee! Baan Hanibah is the best little bed and breakfast. Located in the Northeast corner of the Old City inside the moat of Chiang Mai, it is perfectly suited for walking East to Riverside Café, strolling through the Night Bazaar, or spending a day on foot touring the temples. The wonderful people who work at Baan Hanibah are the epitome of hospitable. Never were we given a bad suggestion, or wrong directions. They spent a lot of time with us, talking, laughing and pointing out great things about their wonderful city.

The breakfast served every morning in the courtyard is a lovely start to the day, and the French press coffee is marvelous. We stayed in Room 12 for four nights and the only issue with our stay is that you have to step outside on the patio outside the room to pick up the wifi. In the showers there are little frog faucets for rinsing your feet, and I loved it so much that I bought one at the front desk to take home.

When you come out of the front gates of Baan Hanibah, turning left will take you one block to the main road around the Old City. Have dinner at House; their signature martini is fantastic. If you turn right out of gates, and then right at the next little street, you end up in a great little area of bars, restaurants and laundry shops that will wash two kilos of for 30 Baht (approximately US $1). Eat at Prego; it's a fantastic café that serves Thai and Italian cuisine and it is incredible! Best bruschetta that I have ever eaten, and their pumpkin soup is addicting. Play billiards at Thai 1 On, an open air bar with good music and a pretty cool owner.

On our tour of the Wats (temples) we came upon Wat Duang Dee, and from there decided to stop into Chompor Lanna restaurant across the street from the temple. Their fruit smoothies are so good it's unreal, and the restaurant itself is simply lovely.

All of this is ten to fifteen minutes walk from BH. The Sunday Walking Street is a mere ten minutes Southwest inside the Old City and should not be missed.

I cannot thank the wonderful staff of Baan Hanibah for making us feel so welcome and being so key to our amazing stay in Chiang Mai. We are going back to Chiang Mai and won't think of staying anywhere other than Baan Hanibah!
