Reviews
We stayed in a double room. My only complaint is about the bathroom. It gets extremely humid in there, and ventilation comes from slits in the wall, above the toilet, with only a very flimsy screen protecting inhabitants from the elements. Bugs appear to have figured out how to get through, and we encountered bees and mosquitoes nightly. This might be par for the course in this area of the country, and for the price point, we didn't much care. Just something to be aware of, if you're someone easily wigged out by the occasional creepy crawly.
Would absolutely stay here again. Spacious and clean, with plenty of amenities. Oh, and breakfast is outstanding. Not usually a fan of sticking around in my hotel for food, but man, the owner killed it. Her omelets were next-level.
The room smelt with moisture, the bed was hard, the bathroom lacked basic cleaning, and its floor was wet because nothing was there to block it from the the duche. No solid soap or shampoo were provided throughout our stay.
Next morning we were requested not to switch rooms that day. No requests followed on the next days.
Upon our return to the hotel in the fourth evening (after being out the entire day), we were shocked to discover that our belongings were packed and transferred to another room, without asking for our consent.
It should be noted that we saw the hotel staff every morning during breakfast, and the host's husband in the evenings, and nobody mentioned that we should switch rooms, or asked for our permission to do it for us.
We find this behavior completely unacceptable, as violation of our privacy and lack of respect to the hotel guests.
What was even more disturbing, was the reaction of the host, who not only was unable to understand what bothered us (bad English), but even made no attempt to try (as could be expected from people granting service who seek their customers' satisfaction). She simply dismissed our attempts to explain our frustration, without even pretending to be polite!
I reckon there are also nice things that can be told about this place (ah, yes, cool dogs, for instance). Nevertheless, I believe that if a place lacks basic respect for its guests, this overshadows everything else.
