This is a hotel that provides good value for money and a safe reliable option. However it is now showing its age. It was no doubt a fine 5-star hotel 20 years ago. Now I think it more 4-star. Nothing wrong with that as long as you know. It is very popular with Russian and Indian holiday travelers.

We had an amazing stay at Berkeley. We stayed here for 6 nights and it was super. The breakfast had a few vegetarian options too especially loved their dosas. This is our second stay at Centara Grand Mirage. The pool is fantastic, and the kids absolutely love it. We had a minor issue which was promptly resolved. This is our second time staying here. Luckily, we managed to book a room on the right side facing the sea, right after the peak tourist season. The huge balcony absolutely thrilled my son; he was so happy he even forgot to come inside to sleep. In the morning, I woke up and couldn't find him, only to discover he had fallen asleep on the balcony sofa.

Traveling as a family of five, we had to book two rooms. The hotel rooms were even worse than a budget hotel like Home Inn in China, but we tolerated it for the proximity to Karon Beach. Pros: Has a private beach, and the sea is clean and beautiful, allowing you to avoid the crowds. Cons: 1. Check-in was quite slow. I arrived at 3 PM to check in, but wasn't informed that my room was ready until around 3:40 PM. 2. The location is a bit secluded, with not much to see or do nearby.
