I am currently staying in the surmeli hotel istanbul. When you enter the hotel, you can smell a very pungent and sewage smell. In breakfast, water was leaking from the roof. The staff are quite friendly. The rooms have very dull lighting and it can feel quite claustrophobic because it's a round building. The food was basic, not what you would expect, same thing eveyday.

This is not in a touristy neighborhood. I chose this because it was closer to where I had some business to take care of. Staff needs to be little more friendly and perhaps smile especially room service staff. Housekeeping was great. Bar is totally dead. I was there for 4 nights and never saw anyone at the bar having a drink.

Reviewing the F&B team working on 21/9/25 - the morning staff are very accommodating. We dont eat beef and they were kind enough to get us french fries and hot chocolate upon request as we dont take beef. The Double Tree in the old town of Istanbul is in such a great location. Across the road from the tramway and close to the Metro. The room was very well equipped for toiletries and tea and coffee facilities. Bed was comfortable and the back of the hotel was quieter than on the main road.

My go-to choice for business trips. The hotel is right above a subway station, bus stop, and McDonald's. Step out and turn left, you'll find restaurants, a Carrefour supermarket, and small convenience stores. Turn right, and there's a local supermarket and a well-known local seafood restaurant. Super convenient! The pictures show the hotel breakfast and the seafood restaurant next door.

Byotell never upsets. The breakfast has lots of varieties. Price location facility ratio just fits. Location is quite convenient. City’s mall, large hiker market and many restaurants, cafes just across large avenue and around the hotel also has many small restaurants that are convenient . The subway is just 50 mt away and can reach Kadıköy and all other areas easily. I recommend this hotel.

The magnificent natural scenery was breathtaking, but we paid a high price and didn't get the best experience. The front desk was helpful, and the rooms were clean.
