Stayed 2 nights…. Positives first, clean, friendly, lovely spa, good location, great price!
Not so good was the rooms were cold thermostat didn’t work and I had the bed by the window so very cold, asked for another blanket but it didn’t arrive, was woken up on the Monday by building noise directly outside. The water in the shower was very temperamental, scolding hot or cold, we didn’t get any refresh so low on toilet paper and water.
But 100% better than the first hotel we booked!
If in Istanbul would defiantly stay again, would recommend this hotel.

This is a great hotel in an excellent location. The rooms were comfortable and well-maintained, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Everything about the stay was very pleasant, making it a wonderful choice for anyone visiting the area. Highly recommended!

I Booked this Hotel for my anniversary with my wife , Hotel didn’t care to prepare even a small gesture or anything . Not a 5 star hotel

This is an old 3 star hotel with unhelpful staff, and they charge you for a 5 star hotel.
Bathtub is broken and glued up. Ceiling has warping paint and mold. Bathroom is not cleaned well. Hallway smells like rotten eggs!
There is no such a thing as concierge. Anything you ask for they say “normally we have but not now”! It was raining outside and they gave that excuse for an umbrella. Asked for an international power adapter and they said the same. Asked for items at breakfast and the same answer. The staff is only there to stare at you in the lobby and make you uncomfortable. What a disgusting place!!

Depreciated hotel. The windows were old and you could hear everything from outside and it was difficult to sleep. The breakfast did not impress at all! The location of the hotel is good.The free parking was a big advantage !!!!

Very close to Taksim metro station, the area where the hotel is nice full of restaurants and cafes, breakfast is great, sadly the gym isn’t open 24 hours.

Review – Nippon Hotel, Istanbul
I stayed at Nippon Hotel during the end of the year and New Year period. The hotel was fully booked, including many families, yet the overall experience was very good.
The service was excellent, the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and it fully matched my expectations. Housekeeping and staff support were professional and responsive.
Breakfast offered a good variety of options, and if something was not available, the staff were willing to accommodate special requests, which was appreciated.
The location of the hotel is also very convenient, with easy access to exchange offices, supermarkets, restaurants, and shisha cafés. Overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable stay.
I wish the hotel continued success.

On the first night, I complained to the hotel because I couldn’t sleep due to the heat (in winter time), I was tired then. They were unable to fix the air conditioner, and next morning I asked to change rooms. They moved us to another room that is smaller, for four people, but with better air conditioning. This means I paid for a Family Deluxe room of 35 m² but had to stay in a room of about 20 m². This experience is bad.
I have stayed at three other hotels in Turkey during this trip, and all of them were good. Only Nippon Hotel made my holiday incomplete. I really regret choosing Nippon Hotel; if I had read other guests’ reviews on Google more carefully, I would not have made this booking.

I had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The property is very clean, and the staff are friendly, welcoming, and consistently helpful. I appreciated the thoughtful touches such as the welcoming fruit plates and Turkish delights, which made the stay feel even more personalized.
The breakfast was fair, with a reasonable selection. One of the strongest aspects of the stay was the team at the reception; they were always attentive, responding to guest requests promptly and professionally.
Overall, a comfortable stay with great service and good hospitality. I would happily consider returning.

Good service overall. In the rooms, the wardrobes are very small. If you plan to go with small children, you won’t be able to enter or exit with a stroller, which really annoyed me. The hotel doesn’t have parking. Breakfast is moderately good.

Edit 1: the issue is solved after a long discussion back and forth with the hotel and Booking.com.

I just arrived today at 2 PM, and the room was extremely hot. I asked the reception to check the air conditioning, and they told me it was fixed. I trusted them and went out for the day. When I came back around 10 PM, the room was even hotter!
I called the reception again (different shift this time), and the person told me there’s no cold air, only heating, because the entire building uses central AC. Seriously? Every guest has to accept the same temperature? What if someone wants a cooler room? This makes absolutely no sense.
I told him that if they cannot provide cold air, then please refund my money so I can move to another hotel. He told me to contact Booking.com. I did, and Booking informed me that the hotel just needs to send a confirmation email to approve a refund. However, the reception refused, saying that only the reservation team can do that — and they don’t work on weekends! So now I have to wait until Monday, meaning I’m forced to spend two nights in a room at 29°C!
This is completely unacceptable. Poor management, poor communication, and zero care for guests’ comfort. I am stuck here suffering because of their unprofessional system.
Avoid this hotel unless you enjoy sleeping in a sauna!
