Had a reservation made for a 5 night stay, all of a sudden day of its canceled by the host. I’m not sure what happened but we were stranded at the airport looking for a new hotel.
I got ahold of customer service, and they did help me out! later on in the day we drove by and the building was completely pitch black/ nobody staying there.
Again i don’t know what’s going on, but it definitely wasn’t a good start to our trip… :/

This entire hotel is closed. My wife and I booked through expedia and was never notified that the entire location had been condemned over a month before our visit. The worst possible experience to fly in and be stranded on the street.

DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE.
The pictures online look nothing like the hotel in person. The rooms are extremely run down. I booked a “spa room,” but when I arrived:
• The room door did not lock.
• The “jacuzzi” was just a cheap blue plastic tub with no water.
• The hallways and room had a very disturbing odor.

I paid $900 for the booking, and upon arrival, they charged me an additional $300 that was never disclosed beforehand, even though I had called in advance to confirm all fees. This is fraudulent and a complete rip-off.

I checked out immediately after arriving because I could not stay there. I have not received a refund. On top of everything, the staff at the front desk was rude and unhelpful.

Save yourself the stress, time, and money—do not stay here.

WHERE IS MY REFUND???? 300 DEPOSIT

This place was comically bad. Though the location was great and staff were nice, the security of the hotel is questionable as no room keys were needed to call the elevator or select a floor.

Upon check-in you are provided a paper with a list of amenities, including complimentary champagne at check-in, a mini bar in the room, a poolside bar area, a premium DJ at the pool every Saturday and Sunday from 12-6, etc., and they simply DID NOT EXIST! No champagne, no mini bar (the fridge was empty), no poolside bar, no DJ. Why promote these amenities if they are all a lie?!

The hotel is reminiscent of an abandoned Cheesecake Factory, the curtains in the room were broken, the grout in the shower was moldy, lights didn't work, there was a party at the dirty pool that went all night, and the place was downright sketchy. This was definitely not worth $400/night and I have no idea how they could be earning the annual AAA awards that adorned their lobby walls. We couldn't wait to leave.

The property felt like an abandoned hotel that peaked in the early 2000s. The pool and hot tub had rust stains and marks everywhere, there were multiple broken lounge chairs everywhere, dead unmaintained plants/weeds… When the pool area physically looks dirty and unattended, I could only imagine the lack of upkeep chemical wise for the hot tub and pool. The main lobby/restaurant bar area has the EXACT same feel. Abandoned pool table and shuffle board, disgustingly dirty chairs, a rusted drink machine just sitting on the bar… You can’t make this up. Glass windows looking into a room of piled old equipment and furniture. Unfortunate homeless people come and sleep in the lounge area because no one is around to guide them off property. The woman at the desk has the type of attitude that’s so bad, it’s actually funny. People are forced to talk to her because she has to call for someone who then calls for the elevator. That’s right, you have to talk to 3 people before you can push your floor button on the elevator. First the miserable woman behind the desk, then she contacts the nicer woman who sits around on her cell phone all day, she then contacts the random person who sits on a stool in the elevator. Comical… Needless to say, after day one, we just took the stairs to avoid the elevator czar. Our “host” did say there wasn’t a gym and I now know why. This hotel is advertising they have a gym but really what it is, is a treadmill graveyard where they have broken equipment everywhere. Our room itself was fine. It wasn’t dirty but it wasn’t the cleanest room ever. If I had a pair of white socks, I’d guarantee they’d be dirty if I walked around the tile floor for an hour. Typical small spots of mold on the caulking in the shower, nothing that can’t be fixed but it’s there. Every door in the hotel has a 1” gap under it which makes keeping sound out of the room difficult but we just ran the central fan at night to try to drown out the noise because you could literally hear everything. Putting all of this together and then coming up with almost a $400 a night price tag (after all fees/taxes) and it just is not worth a return. The resort is wildly mismanaged and it shows.

Stayed here for a birthday which was Thanksgiving, I got the penthouse suite. I booked here through booking for 3 nights, it was a bit of a problem at first because when I tried to check in the system didn't work. I was helped by a tall black guy who worked at night, he did everything he could for me. On my second night I tried to add another night, it was the Spanish lady who told me I couldn't because all the grooms were full (which was a lie). I saw the black guy again and he added to my night. I wish I knew his name but you guys should give him a raise lol his customer service skills were excellent. The room was beautiful, I liked everything, and everything was nearby, there was no need to go anywhere. I will book here again.

1. The girl at the front desk Stacy is rude and gossips about Guests and staff. Her energy is not right for hospitality and she is costing this company in payroll and benefits while costing the company in poor customer service and eventually costing the company in a criminal and civil lawsuit. We conduct b Real Estate business and unfortunately used this hotel while visiting Miami Beach. This Stacy character is bad for business and has caused us to cancel several stays all because we did not want to see nor have to deal with Stacy.
2. The elevators have not been working since June 2022. Yes over a year one elevator has been out. and the only working guest elevator that has just failed is no longer working. We had to use the staff service elevator to enter and leave and this caused a MAJOR DELAY MULTIPLE TIMES in our stay to and from events. And again because only one elevator was working we had to wait in the lobby and tolerate the covert hate and racism from Stacy.
3. We had an incident with the overweight male No English, Spanish housekeeper who had his housekeeping car blocking the only working elevator when we asked him to move the cart so we could NOT get OFF the elevator he refused, displayed an attitude, and acted like we were not there.
4. We are readying a federal criminal and civil complaint. We do not pay to be taken advantage of by people who are committing criminal acts of Conspiracy against paying guests. Again, the employees are costing the company money and we are bringing the company money and these employees are preventing that from happening in the future.
5. We purchased 15 Condo Units in this building for over 5.5 Million Dollars and our bottom line is being affected by Stacy's conspiratorial and criminal behavior, the housekeeper's inept behavior, broken elevators, and the poor management of this building. We are documenting everything going forward.

We've stayed here 3 times - 2019, 2021, 2023 - always in August. The location can't be beat with the hotel being walking distance to great restaurants and bars, grocery and convenience stores, and liquor stores. This comes in handy because you have a fridge and microwave in your room. The reasonable resort fee includes two beach lounge chairs with an umbrella, just steps away from the hotel. The lounge chairs and umbrella alone are worth more than the daily resort fee. The restaurant downstairs (not owned by the hotel), Front Porch, has great food and wonderful staff.

This property used to be a Crowne Plaza property and I was nervous when it seemed to have no new ownership earlier this year. I booked at another hotel, but once I saw that Sonesta took over, I changed my booking back to Z Ocean. We love the location and that all rooms have generous balconies with patio furniture.

The rooms have two refrigerators - one used by the hotel for minibar items and one empty for you. There is also a drawer of non-perishable minibar items in the kitchenette area. You have a sink, dishes, utensils, drinking glasses and coffee mugs. There is either a Nespresso or Keurig in the room, also.

We love the split bathroom - it's one long bathroom with sliding doors to separate the two vanity areas and the toilet (three sections) with the huge shower with multiple sprays and shower heads at one end of the bathroom.

The only complaint would be the rooms could use a refresh. The sofas are not comfortable at all. The furniture overall could use some updating and it would be great to periodically check that all light fixtures are working and all knobs (for example, shower faucet knob) are in place. I'm hoping Sonesta puts a little money into this property to make it shine.

During our stay this year, several team members stood out for us with their fantastic service: Daniel (manager), and front desk team Stacey, Andrea, and Serge. They took care of every little thing we needed and asked for with the sort of graciousness you would hope to receive. A really stellar team!

We can't wait to get back to making this a yearly visit!

Stayed here for a one night escape with my spouse. It was amazing. The staff was friendly and available. The check in was a breeze. There is an amazing restaurant right on site. Our room lead right out to the pool which was perfect. The room was well equipped and spacious, could easily accommodate 4 people. The bathroom was huge and had a rain shower. It was just steps from the beach and right in the middle of everything yet still very quite.

Stayed here for a couple of nexts after our cruise ended to extend our vacation and we were very impressed. The staff was extremely friendly & helpful during our entire stay, the hotel had a lot of cool features (such as the private hot tub on our balcony) & the location was spot on! We will definitely be staying at this hotel again.

Walked in for breakfast in a Sunday morning around 8:30 am. The patio was already full so we sat inside. Service was excellent and so was the coffee. I had the avocado toast and a side of scrambled eggs. Eggs were the best I’d had for breakfast my entire trip. The avocado toast was SO GOOD and I’d definitely order it again if I go back.

Pretty easily the best brunch location in South Beach. Saturday is busiest, with a wait time of up to 30 minutes, but there are parlour games while you wait and the food is worth it. Try the chicken satay omelet!! Beware, prices may be a bit higher than a standard breakfast on the strip, however.

Decent place to have breakfast. The service is fast and the line moves quickly. At the northern part of Ocean Drive, it's a good place to grab a bite before an art deco stroll.

While visiting Miami for the weekend, I tried this place and it was really great! The portions were big but the food was light so it didn't make me feel like I ate too much. The atmosphere is very cozy and the staff is friendly. I would definitely come back in the future!

Delicious breakfast foods served all day. I recommend the French toast - the orange zest gives it such a lovely flavor. I also suggest happy hour for half off drinks from 4-7pm. Our server was Stefan - he was so sweet & appropriately attentive. Will be back for sure.

Nicole Octavia or whatever her name is is the absolute worst. I came into the store and ordered a $7 salad, I asked her for a cup of water and she said she was out of complimentary cups. I advised her I really needed just a cup and I could drink it in front of her but she advised I would have to pay a full drink price for the cup of WATER. As a corporation, you are legally required to provide a source of WATER to a customer. She did not suggest one. She refused.
Of all the times I have purchased from subway, I have never dealt with someone as disgusting as her.
Her persona and presence just told me she didn't value or want this job.
