I was disappointed. The bathroom walls were filthy. The vents were very filthy.
The frig had a strange smell to it.
Not really worth $ 500 a night for 3 kids n 2 adults.

A very cost-effective hotel located in downtown Chicago. The Blue Line subway goes directly to the airport and back for only $7.5. The hotel supplies are quite comprehensive in the United States, including body lotion, soap, etc. I highly recommend it and will choose it again next time I come by myself, but it would be better if breakfast was included.

A great quiet boutique hotel with a fancy bar. You can parking at the nearby garage to save a bit.

Safety first. It is near Michigan Avenue. It is very convenient to take the red line. It is convenient for sightseeing at the University of Chicago and Northwestern University. There are 7-11, pizza shop and the world's largest five-story Starbucks within one mile. It is safe to stay for three nights. The price is quite expensive on weekends.

Old hotel, but good location, convenient. Guest parking is expensive, $70, but you can enter and exit at any time within a day. Parking in downtown Chicago is very expensive

It was one of the best hotels I have stayed at in the US so far. Good for the price and the staff are super nice and helpful. I liked the free drink vouchers and the bar food too. I’d definitely stay here again if I travel to Chicago again.

The room is spacious, although it is older, and it is close to the layman subway! But it feels warm and it’s very convenient to travel. The blue line goes directly to the airport!

Best. Scotch Egg. Ever. Flanked with two forms of mustard: Dijon and Stone-ground. Also had soup, and ice cream. Everything is well made. Perfect place to stop; esp. on a cold snowy day. Will return early and often. Thanks Gage

Excellent food and service. They have a wide variety of food options here from sandwiches, soups, apps, curries, to entrees, steaks and fish. Everything I've had here across the spectrum was very good. Very good service and an upscale feeling based on the decor, tablecloths and finishes. I had the venison burger today which was excellently cooked at medium rare.

Had great service and amazing food! We got the game of the day (delicious grass fed bison) and the rainbow trout. Both were exceptional choices. Would definitely recommend for a nice dinner and drinks nearby the art institute!

I always walk pass this place on my way to my bus stop so was excited to finally give it a try around lunch time. We didn't have reservations and they did not have any open tables, we did however find space at their very large bar area. They do have a pretty nice bar and the service at the bar was good even during lunch hour when they were packed.
I tried the Venison burger which they recommended I try medium rare. I was just not feeling ambitious enough the day before a long vacation so went with Medium cooked which I think was a mistake. I'm going to give this burger another try with the house recommendation of medium rare. My friend tried the fish of the day and the drinks were mad delicious.
The Gage may turn out to be my new favorite spot for a bite in the city. Solid 4 stars for the price point.

It seems pretty swanky inside. I went in for the first time during an after-work gathering for drinks and appetizers. It seemed like a busy time so we were seated/stood around some high tables across from the bar but pretty much in the path of servers walking to and fro.
The appetizers we got were pretty tasty. I was looking for a mocktail but the bartender said they don't make those.... so that was kind of disappointing. As a person who doesn't really drink, my choices were very limited: pretty much just soda. And I don't even drink soda.
So I enjoyed some cold water to drink.

Great, old-school Loop chophouse. Wonderful service and it's never very crowded. It's perfect for business lunches. Food is always tasty and never disappoints. Highly recommend!

Pretty interesting lunch menu with lots of different choices. Prices are high, but this isn't Subway. Food was fine, not great for the prices. Wait staff were very good, especially with a larger party.

Great service and food! This is hands down the best restaurant prior to seeing Hamilton. Service is professional, as you would expect from a Chicago steakhouse and the food is high quality. Great location and a nice bar for drinks.

I read the reviews online and made my reservation before seeing Hamilton. My reservation was complete with my remarks we were seeing Hamilton. The restaurant atmosphere was lovely and the food was divine. Our reservation was for 5:45 and we were promptly seated on time. I expected to be in there easily and hour. I thought we'd have enough time to get outside and take a few pictures before we got in line for the show. I read this elsewhere and I have to agree, it was a little too slow. The waiter was fantastic and kind but I didn't think our dessert would ever get to us. Of course you want to be seated in the theater in plenty of time to freshen up, use the restroom, whatever... before you get your seats. Dessert finally arrived at 7:00 p.m. and we had to eat fast even though the theater was across the street so we could get in line and get settled. We didn't get into our seats until 7:20. If the service was't quite so slow, I would easily give 5 stars and two thumbs up but it just shouldn't take 20 min. to get dessert and then not have the time to enjoy it. I would definitely go back but arrange my time better so I don't stress.

Loved my spinach dumplings - tasted almost like they would at home in Austria. Also liked their Berghoff beer. We had to wait for an hour but we could wait in the cafe downstairs which is really nice in itself.

An historic restaurant in the loop, Chicago. Featuring German foods and an extensive craft beer list including their own Brew. I must for before anyone visiting Chicago. It is very popular with the Traders from the exchanges in Chicago, and the many law offices in the area. There is a bar, lunchroom, and a restaurant. Sorry I don't know the hours of the restaurant.

Ate at this restaurant about 13 years ago. It was like stepping back in time several decades ago. The food is tremendous and the workers highly professional... it is like being in a dream it is so good and so unusual from other restaurants.

The food was fine. The service was fine. Nothing to write home to my German mother about though. Was a little disappointed by the limited number of options. Prices are pretty good considering the location. All in all your average German restaurant.

Our group of 6 were very happy with our dinner and the service. I had the grilled molasses crusted pork chop which was incredible! I would absolutely order it again and will be back the next time I have a trip to Chicago!
