St. George Ski & Holiday in Bansko

I was supposed to check into this hotel today, but because of the war in the country—I live in Israel and the airport is closed—I couldn't. I contacted the hotel in advance and asked to cancel my reservation. They treat every order as impossible to refund. I tried to explain my situation and asked for understanding and a refund, or at least a partial refund, but I was completely ignored. Just know: if you have a force majeure situation, no one will accommodate you, and you won't get a refund. I'll try to spread negative publicity among my friends and subscribers in Israel so they know about this hotel.

The hotel isn’t bad in itself, but they told us that the shuttle bus would take us to Bunderitza station and we would not have to wait in the 2h+ gondola lines. When we arrived at the hotel, it turned out that the shuttle bus only took us to the gondola station. Scam. There is no way to get to Bunderitza station(gondola, taxi, bus, etc.) without waiting at least 1h 30min, even 2h on a good day)

This was, without exaggeration, the worst spa experience I have ever had, and I am still staying at the hotel, departing tomorrow. We booked two “relaxing” massages at St. George’s Ski Resort in Bansko, expecting a professional, calm, and premium experience. What we received instead was careless, uncomfortable, and completely unacceptable. To start with, the massage cabin had absolutely no atmosphere. It was brightly lit, with all lids and shutters completely open, allowing harsh daylight to flood the room. There was no effort made to create a relaxing environment. Throughout the entire session, children and people were constantly passing outside the cabin, completely eliminating any sense of privacy or tranquility. The therapists demonstrated a shocking lack of professionalism. Not once did either therapist ask whether the pressure was acceptable. When the therapist turned me over, he failed to place a towel over my eyes, leaving me fully exposed to the bright light and feeling even more uncomfortable. No medical or consultation form was provided before the massage, which is a basic and essential spa standard. I had to inform them three separate times that I am pregnant, and despite this, the pressure remained far too hard for a so called “relaxing” massage. This is not only negligent but potentially dangerous. After the session, I requested to speak with a manager. The manager was unable to speak English and instead brought me in front of the spa receptionist, forcing me to repeat all of my complaints publicly. They then proceeded to speak in their own language in front of me, which felt dismissive, rude, and highly unprofessional. Their response and attitude were completely unacceptable, especially given the high price charged for the massages. For a hotel that claims to offer quality services, this spa experience was far below any acceptable standard. There was no care, no professionalism, and no respect for the guest. I strongly advise anyone staying at St. George’s Ski Resort to avoid the spa entirely. It is a waste of money and does not meet even the most basic expectations of a hotel spa.

The staff were friendly enough, facilities were ok the pool and hot tub felt a little dirty the hotel itself seemed to be full of teenagers when we arrived which is ok but when we sat down to have dinner they all descended to the restaurant and preceded to have a school disco on the terrace which was ridiculously loud!! and not really appropriate for the other guests staying there if we had known this we would never have booked this hotel. The room was ok but all the plug sockets were broken there were no beside lights, no air con in the bedroom the Hotel says its 4 stars on your site but for someone who has travelled a lot it rates as a 2 star at best. In fact it was so bad we moved hotel at an extra cost just to salvage our holiday!  The food was awful bad quality no flavour very little choice and when I asked for a drink they were going to charge me even though it was meant to be all inclusive so I asked what is included, not much actually just the cheapest wine and beer mostly undrinkable even the fridge was stocked with various things but no menu (prices) so my wife asked what was included guess what nothing was included not even the water. All inclusive never again!!!!
