Coming from Hong Kong, I booked this hotel online. The lobby is quite high up on the 23rd floor, and my room was on the 27th. The hotel's location is excellent. When checking in, Xiaoteng, a guest service agent, helped me get a complimentary upgrade to a deluxe room with a great view. The high floor offered fantastic scenery. They also provided free late-night snacks. During checkout, Xiaoteng also assisted with a late checkout. Not bad at all.

The Grand Skylight Hotel in Shenzhen is incredibly convenient. It's just a few minutes' walk from Huaqiang Station on Metro Line 1. I had a business trip to Shenzhen, and this hotel is located in the best location, Huangqian. The hotel is close to the metro, has a pool on the 4th floor, which is great for relaxing, and also has a gym. As a gift, they offered a fresh fruit platter, which I really loved.

I booked two rooms and carefully reviewed the photos before making my selection. Upon arrival, one room matched the description and images, but the room assigned to me did not even have a desk or workspace and was smaller than what was shown on the platform. An older hotel, but it's decent and gets the job done. The main draw is that it's not expensive. It's located right off Shennan Avenue, in a busy downtown area, so transportation is very convenient. There are restaurants, shops, and other amenities nearby. Parking is a real hassle though, very difficult to find a spot as spaces are limited.

Our first little adventure was grabbing a Didi to the hotel-turns out the map pointed to the back entrance, which totally threw the driver off! Then came the noise situation: next door, a family with kids who seemed to have endless energy (and lungs!), plus cleaning staff who weren’t exactly light on their feet, and doors that loved to slam. I’d specifically asked for a quiet room when booking, but...
