Breakfast includes shark's fin and fish maw – what a treat! If your budget allows, this place is definitely my top recommendation. Staying amidst a Suzhou garden, the environment is simply unparalleled. The service is incredibly attentive and thoughtful. Besides a souvenir for our child, they even prepared a special calligraphic brush gift for them. We were so pleased! The room was fully stocked with fruits and drinks. I'll definitely return on my next trip to Suzhou. This is the first time I've written such a detailed review for a hotel; I genuinely recommend it to everyone.

If possible, I would love to rate it 11 out of 10. We got a free room upgrade, which is super great for a family with a young kid. We travelled during the holiday period in China, and the private stone garden within the hotel was a hidden gem that allowed us to stay far away from the crowd! We had a wonderful time in Suzhou thanks to the Moke Garden Team for their service and kindness.

When I came to Suzhou, I chose to stay at Moyuan. I considered the location, environment, dining, and service, and after my stay, I'm extremely satisfied. I definitely have to give it a five-star rating. Let me elaborate:

Location: It's right in the center of Pingjiang Road, which is incredibly convenient for a night stroll. It's also not far from Humble Administrator's Garden, Lion Grove Garden, Suzhou Museum, and Guanqian Street.

Environment: Although it's a B&B, it's much better than a typical hotel. Moyuan itself is a garden, with five courtyards, and only 12 rooms in total. Each room is exquisite and comes with its own courtyard. How could one not feel relaxed staying here? It's perfect for taking photos, and you don't have to deal with the crowds at tourist attractions.

Dining: This is a B&B where even the breakfast includes shark fin soup, regardless of the room price. The breakfast spread is very rich. Dinner is even better; the ingredients are incredibly fresh. The noodle dishes offer the best value for money, and the hand-peeled river shrimp are super delicious. Plus, you can enjoy Pingtan (storytelling and ballad singing) while you dine! There's also a separate small cafe for milk tea and snacks, perfect for chatting or working.

Service: The service is truly exceptional. A day before check-in, a butler contacted me. On the day of arrival, the butler sent the location, and you just need to take a taxi near the B&B, and a sightseeing cart will pick you up (cars cannot access Pingjiang Road itself). After check-in, you can contact the butler with any questions, and they respond promptly. You can even ask the butler for recommendations on where to eat and shop on Pingjiang Road. Food, including afternoon tea, can be delivered to your room, which I absolutely loved.

We even got a room upgrade upon check-in. The overall experience was simply perfect. I took many photos to remember the stay, and I've already recommended it to my friends. I wish Moyuan all the best and continued success!

The butler contacted me in advance, met me at the alley entrance, and helped with my luggage. Throughout, they were courteous and polite, answered all my questions, and demonstrated a perfect blend of professionalism and appropriate discretion, making the entire check-in experience incredibly comfortable. The room itself was elegantly decorated, and the bedding was dry and fluffy, providing a highly comfortable feel. An excellent stay overall.

The service was excellent! They called me beforehand to confirm, and a personal butler added me on WeChat, so I could easily communicate any needs through the app. The hotel entrance has a cobblestone path, so they provide a small buggy to transfer luggage to avoid bumpy rides.

The environment is also great! The room was very clean, and the entire hotel features a beautiful garden-style architecture with an antique charm – perfect for photos!

The complimentary breakfast was rich and varied, and in the evening, they even had Pingtan (storytelling and ballad singing) performances.

It was truly wonderful, and I'd definitely stay here again!

As soon as we entered the hotel, we felt transported into a different world. This place is calm, soothing with a mystical atmosphere. The rooms were prepared with great details in mind. The service is impeccable, staff is very responsive. Breakfast experience is stellar, although I would suggest to replace the screen in the breakfast room with something else. We had an exceptional experience here.

On my birthday, I checked into Huazhu Elegance · Suzhou Mo Ke Yuan Hotel, a renowned Suzhou garden hotel and one of China's 108 national gardens. Mo Ke Yuan itself is a Jiangnan garden brimming with history and cultural heritage, situated at No. 10 Daxin Bridge Alley, Pingjiang Road, Gusu District. The hotel provided a dedicated butler-driven shuttle service, conveniently taking us to and from the subway station and parking lot. The garden's layout is exquisite, featuring beautifully arranged scenery where each section boasts its unique landscape and charm. What truly touched me was that the hotel presented me with a massive branded cake, a wonderful surprise for my birthday. The garden's owner noticed our child was lively and active, a bit mischievous yet endearing, and surprisingly gifted them an expensive 'Zhuangyuan' (top scholar) brush pen! This trip was truly unforgettable, and I will definitely bring my family back to stay here again next time!

Huazhu She · Suzhou Moke Garden Cultural Hotel

A hidden gem near Pingjiang Road, this hotel boasts a garden with a history spanning several centuries. Guests and casual visitors are separated by an electric privacy gate, which effectively safeguards privacy. Initially, I was concerned about mosquitoes, but my worries were unfounded. Aromatic mosquito repellents are placed everywhere in the garden; they are effective and not overpowering. The staff also regularly check and replace them.

The hotel offers complimentary cultural performances for guests. With only 12 rooms, guests enjoy undisturbed peace. I stayed in 'Guanhua Hall', which was advertised as 45 square meters but felt more like 50+. The interior design eschews modern minimalism in favor of authentic garden-style rosewood furniture, meticulously restored from an old mansion. Every corner of the room was impeccably clean, a testament to the owner's exceptional upkeep. At my age, I truly appreciate this kind of classic ambiance.

The butler service was also superb – highly responsive and incredibly attentive. A shuttle service is provided for both arrival and departure, and the breakfast, a healthy home-cooked meal, was absolutely delightful.

This hotel is truly a place to slow down and quietly immerse yourself in the experience – a serene oasis in the heart of the bustling city.

Our room was incredibly comfortable, and we were even given a complimentary upgrade. Moke Garden provides excellent butler service; any requests were promptly addressed with just a quick message. A lovely flagstone path leads from the entrance to the main road, and there's a convenient golf cart shuttle service for transfers. Breakfast was absolutely delicious! 😋 The garden itself is stunning, with beautiful rockeries, water features, mist, and fish. We even took photos in the courtyard after getting our makeup and hair done, it was such a picturesque spot. Among all the guesthouses in the Pingjiang Road area, this one truly stands out as the best and most luxurious. Even the bath amenities, including the four-piece set and wonderfully fragrant soap, felt very premium. We'll definitely be returning to Moke Garden on our next visit! ✌️
