Reviews
So, at first, everything was quite nice: the hosts seemed very welcoming, showed us around, and explained everything.
The room was large, and everything seemed clean. There was just a slight smell of sewage, but that's nothing.
There were no toiletries (they cost 5,000 rubles a night), only a large bottle of liquid soap and two dental kits.
By the way, I found a torn-off label from someone else's clothes in the room... it looks like they didn't even really clean the place. But that's all nothing... I guess I can close my eyes.
We wanted to pay for the room upfront, but it turned out that you can't pay by card; you only need cash. So the hostess said, "Pay when it's convenient, even upon checkout." Okay, so. We agreed to bring the money the next evening.
The next morning, which I was eagerly awaiting because the breakfast promised to be fantastic (as the reviews say, apparently purchased), was a very meager selection of things I don't eat. There weren't even any omelets or scrambled eggs... remember, for 5,000 rubles a night (100 bucks)... and no khachapuri in the morning either 🤦🏽♀️
And this was topped off with a payment reminder. Well, that's okay... I said we'll pay in the evening...
At 5 PM that same day, I returned to the "hotel," and the owner asked me to come in and, in a not-so-friendly tone, told me to pay. At that moment, I wanted to connect to the wifi to text my friend, who actually had the money for the hotel. He was supposed to be back later. I told the owner that there was no internet and I couldn't contact my friend, and that I needed to do something to get the internet working. To which he replied that it wasn't his problem and reminded me that I'd been staying there for two days for free 🤦🏽♀️ Let me remind you, we offered to pay upfront!!! And they also said we'd pay in the evening... I spent about 10 minutes asking him to reboot the router, but the owner pretended not to understand, telling me to call a friend... but how can I call if I'm in another country, and not only is there roaming, but there's no network at all 🤦🏽♀️ In the end, the router rebooted, and I was able to access the internet and contact my friend. He said he'd be back in an hour and a half, which I actually had to wait in this "hotel" because it was already uncomfortable to leave...
We paid the money, and I thought they'd probably leave me alone and everything would be fine. And that seemed to be the case. The next morning, there was already Adjara cheese, and even what I asked for. That was okay.
That same morning, I asked for the same breakfast the next day... but in the evening, of course, it turned out that the store didn't have that kind of cheese, and they made some excuses...
Finally, when checking out, I decided to ask to stay an extra hour, but they told me to take my bags downstairs because other people would be arriving at 12 (!!! Considering they usually check in at 2:00 PM)... at 12... I guess there won't be any cleaning for them...
By the way, they never cleaned the place once during the entire three days.
All in all, thanks for the hospitality. A hostel for 500 rubles a night is even nicer than that.
The location is very convenient: everything you need is nearby.
Everything that depends on the owners - everything is done for the guests!
What to consider:
1. This is an old city, where restaurants and music are at every step.
They will accompany you until late at night. Music is live until about 12 at night in the season through the closed windows penetrates.
2. The Internet is not caught in every room.
3. Entourage and interior - antique.
There is no sea view from the window, because this is an old city, not a high-rise building. But the sea is nearby.
4. Breakfast at the hostess is delicious and varied, there will be a lot of delicious places nearby. If you are on a diet, it is better to relax during this time.
