The Doorman Welle Frankfurt am Main in Frankfurt am Main

We arrived at the property before reception closed but when we got there they had closed at 4.30pm despite advertising reception closing at 7pm. Called security guard who let us in, gave us a key and pointed to the lift. Walked into unit 24 and it smelled of bleach and the unit was stifling. Looked for an air conditioner but couldn’t find one. (Europe was having the worse heatwave) Rang security guard and was told it was not his job and reception would open on Monday. Said there was air conditioner there. Assumed it was a portable air conditioner in the corner. Had no idea how to install it, rang the security guard again he said he would have someone contact us in 5-10 minutes. No one rang. I am an asthmatic and there was no way I could stay there and had to find alternative accommodation at 9pm on a Friday night with Frankfurt hosting the European iron man. The unit looked nothing like the photos. Walking around Frankfurt we saw ducting placed outside some open windows and assumed it was their air conditioning. We were overseas visitors, unfamiliar with the area and on the second fall. To us that would have all types of security issues for us. In short the apartment was not as advertised, no practical assistance was provided and we are substantially out of pocket as a result. Do not stay here.

A very unsatisfactory hotel
As soon as I opened the door, there was a strange old smell.
After checking in, I found that the sofa bed in the family room (double bed + sofa bed) I booked was not set up at all. I searched the entire room but couldn't find any extra pillows, quilts, sheets, pillowcases or bath towels.
It was already past nine o'clock in the evening and there was no one at the front desk downstairs, so I had to call. A security guy came and said he didn't know anything, so I had to continue calling the remote staff. Finally, the security uncle took me to the cleaning room on the fourth floor, where I found what I needed, and then went back to my room to make my bed.
The kettle in the room was also broken. The water would not stop boiling by itself even if I turned the switch to off. The kettle would suddenly start boiling again and it was always boiling. The handle of the kettle was also leaking, and it was hot when I touched it. Safety hazard.
Other than that, the hotel is in a good location and the rooms are big.

No housekeeping for 3 days in a row, includinga weekday. And nobody at the reception to solve this problem and no phone number to contact anyone. We're stuck with 2 towels for 3 people for 4 nights. There's no AC in the room, they provide a mobile AC unit for which you have to keep the doors open and sleep. If I had not prepaid for this hotel, I would have left in a heartbeat !
