Great hotel with unique rooms, close to city center and surrounded by few popular bar's and pub's

Absolutely fantastic hotel, great staff and brilliant but large quirky rooms all individually designed my local artists. We had a homage to Steve McQueen a lovely room full of things related to him and his era

One things need to be conceder by gusts that there is no lift! So you have to think carefully if you have heavy luggage. All in all, it is nice accommodation with very special atmosphere and great value

Crazy and amazing place. The receptionist, Erkan, made us feel very welcome when we arrived. The place was very clean. The rooms are very unique. Good value for your money!

Each room is unique and has different theme from each other, I stayed in the (Johannes Kleisa – Big in Japan) Design Double Room, City View

Hotel is updated, clean and comfortable. The host was so kind and even provided us a fan for the room. Convenient location, approximately 10-15 min walk to central train station and cathedral

I appreciated that the automated check-in was very simple, often in Airbnbs or other hotels you have to go through a convoluted process that feels like an escape room before you make it to your room but here I just got a code, entered that on the main door and that was it

Staff is friendly, I’ve arrived early and had no problems dropping off my luggage and going sightseeing even before my room was ready. Location is good, only a few minutes walking to the cathedral.

Checked in with no problem, dropped off my luggage and went off to enjoy the day. The room is perfect for a solo traveller. Some doors may need some oiling as they creak

We had a wonderful 3 night stay here in Dec 2013! The rooms are very comfortable and clean, and our hosts were very friendly and helpful to us throughout our stay

The room itself was small but perfect: clean, comfortable and with good wifi connection. I would definitely stay here again if I'm in Cologne again one day

Came and stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with friends which has very friendly receptionist and is a great location just across the road from a train station and around the corner from the koln triangle, at has a bar and an eating area but i never used these, you could purchase additional breakfast and gas a nice busy Mexican restaurant one or two doors away

The only downside was not much storage space in the room's but other than that, a great price and would recommend for a budget stay

It Is also a great location with just a short walk away being the main bridge which leads to the main cologne cathedral, great location and a pleasant stay which would reccomend

The hotel itself was clean, has decent sized room's and good working bathroom facilities

Luckily on the next day I met another receptionist who spoke English. There was no free wifi which hampered customer's external communication

In the center of Koln, top hotel if you are travelling alone (rooms are small but nice for one). Had a nice stay there.

Very nice hotel just in the middle of Koeln. Rooms are small but quite comfortable. This is not a typical hotel rather closer to hostel. No reception open 24h so one must arrive before 8pm

The biggest advantage is localization. From that place you can get in a few minutes to the cathedral. And it is just in the middle of a shopping part

Good affordable hotel about a fifteen minute walk from the center of Cologne. There is no elevator to that hasn't been a problem for me. Breakfast is simple but tasty

I only checked the reviews for this place after making the booking, and thought that I had made a grave mistake given the low scores. This was very far from the case and I'm baffled by the reviews of others on here

Breakfast was fresh bread every day, meats and cheeses, fresh fruit and decent cappuccino. Yi and Lena were as hospitable and accommodating hosts as can be imagined. I requested a fan and received one immediately

And the price was extremely reasonable, in a good location not far from cafes and supermarkets, 9 minutes walk to the station and lanxess arena. All round, there can be no complaints

When I cut myself they provided first aid and assistance. Extremely attentive and friendly, and they spoke good English despite it being their 3rd or 4th language

It's not the Ritz, but it is also not the price of the Ritz, and everything worked and it was clean (high pressure shower, comfy bed)

Good value hotel only a short walk from the Hauptbahnhof. Clean spacious room and bathroom, with a good shower. Wifi was quick to connect and fast enough. The cold breakfast was excellent

Note that there is no lift, and there are four storeys! The staff were all very pleasant. A little noise from the railway and street, but no problem with the windows closed

Pls aware that no elevator, and might be inconvenient for heavy luggages. Staff cannot speaker English, we communicate by body language but it went very well

It was a nice hostel generally, enjoyed the stay there, there is a kitchen with a common space. However it could have been cleaner, there were some crumbs on the floor in the private room when we arrived

its near the university so there are a lot of young people in that area. Not the best ever, but if you consider the price-quality is acceptable. Staff was wonderful! And I met great people there!

The hostel itself is located in very noisy place, so in the night it was almost impossible to sleep with an ipen window, but if the window was closed, it got stuffy really fast

Great hostel, very basic but good location! Although I was told I could park here there is no where to park on site. And it cost me more to park then to stay at the hostel.

The staff or as they like to call themselves - "sheperds" were friendly and tried to keep the toilets, showers and other public rooms clean at all times

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and we liked it. It's close to Neumarkt and there's lots of shopping nearby. We stayed in room 14 and it had a bonus feature in the form of access to the flat roof outside

Nice Hotel very centrally located. Especially if you go in the carnival on the track want to. Spontaneously, we have to get a room. Prima Breakfast, in a quiet area. Family atmosphere and a real Köllner.

Good hotel close to city center

Rooms are nice and basic, but internet is almost in available in the first floor. Service is great and friendly, and breakfast is as good as it can get with such a small place.

It would also have been nice to have a mini fridge in the room when staying for as long as we did but it wasn't essential to us. All in all it was a positive experience

I think that the router was placed on the top floor (where the smaller rooms with shared bathrooms are located) because up there it was very good signal strength

To me, that’s a bit like flying business class and complaining the bathrooms aren’t spacious enough — it’s just the reality of the format. This is a traditional German apartment-style building, not a modern glass tower

There is a walk-in secure garage for bicycles which makes this a perfect choice if you’re cycling the Rhine. If visiting Cologne we would definitely return to Hotel Arde

I have no complaints about the overall cleanliness – there was some dust in a few spots and the air conditioning unit was very dirty The only thing I found unacceptable was that the window only had a Venetian blind, which means everything happening inside the room could be seen from outside

Great little hotel in a remarkable old structure. First class service from Petsonal with heart and mind. Exactly my breakfast, you can hardly get a better place. Prices are fair.

A very nice guest house with courteous hosts! The room and bathroom were surprisingly large and nicely decorated. We will be back definitely!

Good location, very comfortable bed, satisfying breakfast with good coffee, nice host. No sound-proofing, as a result one can hear the other tenants clearly and the busy street with the window open.

Great hotel for city trips! Small but nice, inexpensive, quiet and yet very close to the old town, opposite there is parking for € 6 per day

Matner gave us a very warm welcome and even pre-reserved the last free parking space for us with his own car. The rooms are nicely decorated and well equipped with everything you could need

But why is it MEGA? - Rooms are clean and modern - Bathroom clean and also modern designed - Bed was comfortable - Breakfast plentiful The owner is really a communicative, fun-loving person who cares deeply about the well-being of his guests and then tries to fulfill all their wishes for them

So I can also say about the room that despite the carnival, it was nice and pleasant and you can relax. I found one negative point anyway :D. NO PARKING Now some people are probably wondering why I give 5 stars then

Clean small hotel with good breakfast. Very nice father and son who run the hotel. The only drawback is no parking. If you are lucky you can park at the youth hostel opposite for €10 a day

You only get such a service in an owner-managed small hotel. Very nice communication in advance, problem-free check-in, clean / tidy rooms, excellent location... Always happy!

Since I was there on November 11th, 2022 for a trade fair, I was able to test it myself, because after work the way to the start of the carnival was really short

Small, owner-run, centrally located boutique hotel with only 7 rooms. Each individual with great attention to Detail and is very extraordinary. Service and friendliness is incredible. To recommend everything. Class!

The hotel is really great! Everything was very clean and easy to find - you can from there very quickly come to town :) The receptionist is really more than nice and reads the guests every wish from the lips! Everything was very comfortable and well equipped and we will gladly come back

Great small Design Hotel with a perfect hostess. Especially the Deluxe room is a dream with its own Sauna. It is also ideally located, from here you can do everything on foot.

Apparently, this is one of the cheapest places in the area. Rooms are small but comfortable. The location is good, I think it’s 10 or 15 minutes to all the main attractions. The parking situation is pretty good

Well I spend a lot of time in several Motel One Hotels and this one is the best of all! Mathias (the hotel manager) and his team are bringing customers satisfaction up to a new level! You’re feeling like at home

There's a large supermarket nearby, which is convenient. The underground parking lot is easily accessible. While parking is paid, you can get a small discount if you pay at the hotel

We liked the location as it was about a leisurely 20 minute walk to the Cathedral/train station area. The included breakfast was great. We especially enjoyed the conversations with the night bar manager

I had a great stay at Motel One Köln-Neumarkt. The hotel is in a fantastic location, conveniently close to the city center and right near public transport, making it easy to explore the area

The staff was friendly and helpful- special thanks to Rita from the breakfast team, she was so sweet, she brought me the breakfast roll I asked for straight to the table when they were freshly baked, absolute 5* service!!!!

We loved our stay in Motel One! The rooms were spacious, clean and modern. The location is great - all the main sightseeings are in walkable distance. The breakfast is really good too with lots of options

Stayed in December for Christmas markets. About 15-20 minute walk from the train station. Bed was a little hard, but that's just my preference. Lovely bar area and enjoyed the continental breakfast

We booked a room in seventh floor, it was nice. The issue there’s no mini fridge, no enough wore drop, and the service you have to go down to reception to ask for it

Cozy and comfy room The stay in this cozy room was okay, location perfect, bathroom clean and functional, bed is comfy however the room is super tiny

The location was very convenient, about 15 minute walk from Cologne Central Station/Cathedral and only 5 minutes to the main shopping area. There is also metro/tram/bus near but we chose to walk and explore the city

Location: a short walk to city centre. It is convenient but not in crowded city centre. Room: modern and big apartment. It equips with everything we need. The water pressure for the shower is not that strong

The worse thing is no aircon as the climate is still considered cold and it's control by a central system so the room is warm and stuffy. Open the window for some cool air but it was so noisy

The Good: - Location is right in the middle of everything and few steps from the Cologne Cathedral and the Cologne Central Station. - Most of the staff were nice and helpful

It seemed to come from the drainage. - The bathroom has a huge window (not frosted, no curtain) that makes you uncomfortable when showering! I had to turn the lights off at night so I wasn't visible from outside

And during the day, I had to crouch. - The shower cubicle was so tiny! I kept hitting the shower lever so the temperature kept changing while showering. I had to leave the glass door open so I can move

When we arrived, we were wondering why we had 2 portable heaters (with 1 not working), we realised the radiators were not working! - The bathroom stank the whole room everytime we came in from outside

- The price was affordable considering we went during peak holiday season with the Christmas markets open. The Bad: - We were on the 5th floor and the lift was only until the 4th floor

In our in and outs of the day and evening we must have met everyone who worked here and we were greeted, asked if everything was okay. The rooms were clean, clean, clean. And the location can't be beat

Excellent hotel in Friesenplatz. Bustling street just 50 metres away with lots of cafes and restaurants. Hotel itself is super clean and modern and has excellent rooms. Breakfast is superb as well.
