The hotel breakfast was plentiful, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and tidy. The only downside was that it was about a 10-minute walk from the tram stop. Otherwise, I was satisfied and would definitely stay there again.

However, the hotel's location isn't very convenient; the nearest subway station is about a 10-minute walk, and the cobblestone streets make it difficult to lug a suitcase. Overall, however, it's a good stay.

All were good except the air conditioning was blowing warm air instead of cool air… Lucky enough, I just needed to open the window and sleep good.

Returning to the hotel from a long day out, our host Philip was extremely helpful to serve us hot food and good spirited conversation to lift our moods and make us feel like home. Probably because it was messe time, it was quite expensive but even though cheapest of others around. Rooms were good but it would be better to have some tea or coffee in the rooms (or at least it should be free at reception?). Hot water was free (luckily I had some tea with me) but receptionist guy asked 2-3 times if it is coffee or hot water as if I was cheating him (I felt like a thief😔) Location...

The single room was indeed very small, haha, a bit like a student dormitory. However, the hygiene services were acceptable, and there was a complimentary bottle of sparkling water in the refrigerator. The location was also excellent, right on Hoch Street; you can walk from the train station along Hoch Street and browse all the various shops. In the Center of cologne, Advertised spa is apparently a collaboration with an external spa and fitness club, which was not clear upon placing reservation. Not to much to expect by the room offer but cleanliness and features in bathroom, as body lotion Handwaschbeckenand shower gel were recommendable and boutique retailer. Overall recommendable for a short stay.

Met expectations. The mattress protector was a bit worn out, though. The hotel's location is excellent, very close to Köln Süd station. From Köln Hbf (Cologne Central Station), it's just a few minutes' walk after taking the train from Breslauer Platz. The quiet hours were well-implemented; no one was making noise.

The room view of the Rhine River and the bridge was an amazing experience. When you enter the room, you feel as if you are in the 1950s, and the hotel was very clean.

Nice hotel. Booked during a stopover for a short overnight stay. Olga, the receptionist, was very friendly and helpful. One point of attention: the shower areas could be improved. The use of a shower curtain feels outdated.

Modern, in excellent location. Very friendly staff, good breakfast. Parking is a challenge . I recommend you take one of their parking spaces in their garage. Its tricky to get out however a staff member would drive the car out for you. If you enjoy a nice walk or run around the Rhine River- you are right at the banks, and you will reach a nature preserve after 20 mins jogging.

Have been staying there since 6 years now. A very quaint but nicely located hotel in Cologne. What they lack in amenities they make up in service and smiles.

We stayed here for 3 nights to visit the Christmas markets, the location is very good. We were walking distance from the cathedral and Christmas markets. Our room had a lovely view of the river. The nearest underground station is heumarkt. Colognes main train station Köln hbf was also only a 15 min walk along the river side. Trains from here to the airport cost €3.70. All the staff we met were friendly...

It was a bit hard to find but the rooms were clean and looked good. The staff was exceptionally friendly. At check-in they even opened the terrace just for me. Overslept my check-out by half an hour and they made no problem of it, charged me nothing extra. "You partied a bit to hard it happens, no problem" . Great people, will go there again next time.

Property situated very close to Subway. We were surprised that they have Fee $.50 for early check in. And for baggage storage $.5 as never experienced any such charges. Room sizes were very compromising two luggage bags and no space to walk. Lobby is nice as usually in same vicinity usually lobby is not that nice. Over all good experience.

This is a huge hotel in a great location, Penn Station across the street. The hotel has been remodeled but still has a lot of art deco features that appeal to travelers like myself. We had a very large room on a high floor that was very quiet and had a great view. The hotel is very busy, but hey it’s NYC. Would definitely stay here again.

This was a nice clean hotel. There was a guy on the front desk who was an absolute gem. He was funny, helpful and knowledgeable and helped us enormously - a credit to the hotel. The room we had was spacious and clean, we got 2 extra pillows as the ones supplied where very thin. On the downside the hotel is in a very scruffy, run down area. Mohammed was superb at taking care of us at the front desk. He went above and beyond in meeting our needs. He call us in our room within the hour to check on us to make sure all was good with our room

We stayed here for one night and were satisfied. The bathroom was quite new and modern, while the rest of the room could use an update. The only real downside was the parking situation, which was a nightmare. But then again, you have to expect that in the middle of a city.

The room looked like the pictures and was very large. I rented one of the apartments. The shower was amazing. Super convenient to the train and there's a grocery store one block behind the hotel. Only real negative was they only give you one pod for the coffee machine, but you can buy coffee and tea around the corner. I would stay here again.

This is a lovely hotel, situated right by the main train station. The city center is easily accessible on foot. The valet parking service was reliable and extremely convenient. Plus, there's a fantastic rooftop bar.

The only five-star rating we got was for the front desk staff; they were very nice. However, we couldn't believe this was supposed to be a three-star hotel. We tolerated the extremely small room and bed, and the lack of amenities—almost nothing at all—but in the dead of winter, several bugs were crawling on the bed. It's impossible to give it a friendly five-star rating.

This was a last minute booking for a trip to the Christmas markets. We booked the deluxe and looking at the other reviews I would say that it's definitely worth paying a bit extra for the deluxe. We stayed there 3 nights. The room was okay, pretty ugly with a view to the backyard but calm, we slept good, although pillows were not the best. No AC. Location a little outskirt but accessible with car and public transport

The hotel is close to the train station, but quite far from city. We booked a single bed, it shows the bed size 0.8m-1.3m wide, in fact, I think it is only 0.8m, which is really small. we understand that during the busy week (Anuga and Marathon) is high price, but it's not really worth for a single bed here.

I absolutely loved my stay at Hotel zur Malzmühle. I booked a single bed room. The room was cozy, but I never hang out in my room. I use the room for sleeping and for showering. Perfect room. Comfy bed. However... our privacy was disrupted during our first day when other guests got into our room using the same key. I suppose this happens because all the rooms on the same floor have the same key, since the key also opens the middle hallway door that goes to the rooms. The outside of the hotel doesn't do the inside any justice. Rooms are big and clean, decor great in reception very quirky. . Service was great at reception and breakfast. Good range for breakfast and alll staff were very helpful. Walking distance from Some shops and restuarants also the train station. Bar open at night.
