Description

Simple, family-run hotel with a friendly atmosphere. Decorated in traditional Cretan style. Ideally located in the centre of Ammoudara, surrounded by shops, bars, restaurants. Heraklion city every half hour bus service. Recommended for youth and family budget holidays close to the city.

Built: 1980

Regularly renovated.

Location: in the village of Ammoudara, 12 km from the airport of Heraklion, on the Central road. Bus stop opposite the hotel.

Evening entertainment: Ammoudara (100 m), Heraklion (5 km).

Consists of 3-storey building with a lift.

The hotel has 48 rooms.

Beach: public, sandy-pebbly beach is 200 metres away, open wide coastal strip, 3 line. Changing cabins, shower. On the beach umbrellas, sun beds: free. Beach towels: no. At the pool umbrellas, sun beds: free of charge.

We accept credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Maestro.

ATM: next to the hotel.

Pets up to 5 kg (for free).

The location seemed a bit far to me because it was off-season...but it could be very good during the season.

The stay was nice! As for 2 star hotel it was really good! The room was good (not long renovated). The only problem was food, pool and cleaning of the room. - Food breakfast was always same so after 2 days of stay i never went to eat breakfast again cuz it got boring. The dinner nothing much also. Almost all the time was pasta. The only good dinner was when the owner cooked something like meat or smthg else. Rate 5/10 -Pool i dont know if they cleaned it well or not but most of time it was not really clean from the water look, leafs in it, so we didn't even went in it. I saw people swim in it but we didn't want to risk it getting sick. - The room cleaning was regular but they didn't clean that well specialy the floor. We didn't ask much but the floor would be lovely to be cleaned more nicer. They mopped ir but they scatered the dirt all over the places. They changed towels and bed sheet 1 time in 7 days. We putted dirty towels on ground to be changed but they never picked it and just putted the dirty towels back on bed. So i didn't like that. Few times we went to them ask to take out trash or put more soap in room. So the cleaning would be 5/10. Overall, i would rate the stay good. The place was pretty nice renovated. The location was good too near beach (10min walk). Bus stop close and market too. To city center from here around 20-30min also pretty good. As i said im not that picky as i travel for 7 days stay it was really good! I would rate 8/10.

We stayed at the hotel for 8 nights and had a very positive experience. The location is 2 minutes walk to a big beach. Many delicious restaurants are within easy walking distance. Public buses to the big city and Knossos Palace come regularly and stop in front of the hotel. The room was kept very clean. Breakfast was delicious with small local pastries as an extra. The people were extremely friendly and helpful. On the next to the last day we learned that our plane would be leaving at midnight. No problem for the staff, we were allowed to keep our room an extra day without any further charges. That's what I call service! Highly recommended!

The staff was very nice, and the location is really great! However, you can't expect much from this hotel. The rooms were very small, the beds very hard, and the cleanliness wasn't great. Even after the cleaning staff tried to clean it, the room was still very dirty. The cleaning staff simply laid down new towels, gave it a quick sweep, and that was it... for the entire 7 days. We eventually stopped paying them because it was never really clean. The shower was very narrow and cold; as soon as you showered, everything was wet because there was no proper separation. The toilet seat kept falling down and never stayed up properly, which is annoying. You also often find ants in the room, and the walls are very thin, so you can hear the neighbors pretty well. Overall, not a great hotel, but a great location. You can't have high expectations.

The balcony was far too narrow, and there was only one folding chair that fit across the room, so it was impossible to chill on the balcony in the evening for two. The shower was very small and the water spilled out. Otherwise, everything was great. The staff was really friendly. Everything was close: a supermarket, a restaurant, and a café, and it was only about 3 minutes to the beach.

The location of this hotel is super good- shops, restaurants, parkings, beach - everything is very close. But the hotel was dissapointment.. The rooms are very very small and one of the rooms smelt like mold.... We took two rooms- in both the hair dryers didn't work. After telling this in reception- there was no reaction. Swimming pool is small and You can use it only daytime... No swimming in the morning or evening. They just close the gate and You can't even chill in the garden. That was sad surprise.. Breakfast everyday the same. The strangers thing that in such country they do not offer any vegetables variety.. only tomatoes. No fruit at all! The staff - the owner is very nice person. Can't tell the same about the wife of the owner and his son. They were very rude, arogant. Next time would choose same area, but different hotel.

Very friendly staff but there are plenty of improvements to do.

First of all the rooms are planned impractically. We stayed in 2 people room with my partner and the bathroom/toilet was almost impossible to use. Too compressed and the planning was not good at all.
The bed is normal size but it squeaks all the night with every movement you or you partner makes.
The same problems where in 4 people room that my family was staying.

Overall the hotel is clean and nice.

Breakfast is the same EVERY morning. No hot food and only thing fresh IF you’re lucky are tomatoes. And unfortunately I had a feeling that they didn’t fill the containers after they got empty, or it took so much time that I have already finished eating. But over the street is a nice restaurant so I recommend eating there.

There is a nice pool with quite deep and clean water.
I just expected it to be allowed to swimm there later in the evening than 18.00.
